  • Hey, what's going on, guys?

  • Hopefully at this point, you've already seen my review here of the master great Barbara Toasts in which I mentioned that I wanted to paint this kid up straight away.

  • So that's what we're gonna do here.

  • This is the first work in progress video.

  • We're gonna go over just kind of getting ready for painting and early steps of them not gonna go in and do a bunch of customized or anything on that cause.

  • Like I mentioned in the review, it's already got a ton of detail.

  • Their side is gonna want to give it a nice paint job, bring all the detail that's already there on the kids.

  • So the first thing that I've gone ahead and done here is I've finished up all the prep work it a little more sanding everything on that.

  • For the most part, that is, should be all done.

  • And I also removed the clear parts and the pistons.

  • All of that stuff is just threw back in here hardest.

  • Eva.

  • Clear parts and pistons are just removed for the time being, so let's keep those.

  • They're nice and safe.

  • Also got the weapons already as well went ahead and got rid of the sea mines here on the barrel of the gun.

  • So that's all gone as well.

  • So what I want to do first, typically, usually at this point I would just disassemble the whole thing, everything all washed up and get into the painting process straightaway.

  • But what I'm gonna do that this time is actually this washed.

  • Everything's kind of as it is right now.

  • And then just give it a good just coat of primer.

  • Or should I should say it was like a thin simply not a good coach.

  • It's a simple coat of primer just so that I can basically kind of mark out.

  • So I can know which what parts of the kid will show on the finished product and which will not.

  • So, like, for example, just spraying it once all constructed like this with Primer will let me know that, like that, obviously, the owners inside of the frame here of the size is completely covered and won't actually on the show.

  • I won't actually show on the finish kit, so I don't need to worry about like painting in super great detail.

  • Also, that will let me see if there's any other kind of still minor imperfections, things that I want to send out a little bit more something clean up a little bit better before I go into, like the full on primer that will be my actual primer that'll use before going on to the actual painting process.

  • So first step is just everything cleaned up.

  • So I'll just use a little bit of warm, soapy water.

  • Toothbrush just kind of brushed everything off and then just lay it out to dry.

  • And then I'm gonna need to let Dr Rugova day or so before I get into, because they're obviously be water.

  • It's kind of inside little bits and pieces everything.

  • So once I get to spring, uh, spray actually will force the water out from any hidden areas where it's hiding.

  • And then that will kind of get under your pain something, and it doesn't really cause a big problem or anything.

  • It's easy enough to fix doesn't ruin anything, but it just kind of better if you get as much water out of it before you try and spraying anything, okay, And here is how he's gonna look all primed up and put back together.

  • You gotta love look of just that all primer look.

  • I mean, it looks so cool.

  • You can really see all of the details really pop out once they got all the primer on, There are things that's all now in one color and it's looking pretty awesome Official, Just like these details here.

  • These bits, like on the back of the legs and everything like that.

  • Once this is just the help ain't up mass.

  • This thing is gonna look really good And a couple things.

  • One thing that you may be wondering is, where's the piece on the front of the chest, This part for the front of the torso there that doesn't fit on without the clear part of clear Party's going between there and, like, said already removed all clear parts.

  • So I had to just prime this part separately.

  • And one thing that I didn't mention in my review is that the cockpit actually opens in the front like this.

  • So many people were quick to point that out in my review that the cockpit opens up like so.

  • So just so you guys know the cup, it does open down in the front as well.

  • I'm sure a lot of you probably figured that out by now, though, it's one question that I do get from time to time is about building and painting and like whether you should build the whole kit first and then disassemble for painting orders like painted parts, and then put the good either.

  • And I always say that you should build the kid first for this.

  • This is one of the reasons just so that you could see where you're going.

  • Need to paint where you're not going to paint like this.

  • But now it's just so much easier to build the kit or put different parts together and take different areas apart like I could now, pretty much now that I've built in taking this kid apart.

  • Basically twice now I pretty much built this kit with my eyes closed, so I'm just really familiar with the kid.

  • And now that I've put it together and taking it apart a couple of times, and it just kind of helps to you to work with the kit once you know how everything goes together really well, if you're just trying to, you know, put it together for the first time once everything's all painted and you kind of don't really have a good sense of what you're doing.

  • But now is the stage where it's time to take it apart once again and actually get to our colors of this.

  • So I'm gonna start disassembling that guy.

  • But we need to talk about the colors, because what is it what we're gonna do for the color scheme for this, right?

  • Of course.

  • I can't go with the original colors.

  • So what I'm gonna do is go with a desert color scheme for this.

  • So for the V Finn, that's gonna be in yellow.

  • I'm just gonna use Mr Color 109 here.

  • Character yellow.

  • It's a slightly orangish yellow color.

  • I'd like to use that.

  • And then four of events on the chest underneath the shoulder parts and then on the front skirts there, front of the knees, those then parts, which originally were yellow.

  • Gonna do those in white.

  • I'm gonna use gray F s 36622 This is number 311 Mr.

  • Carline, it's an off white color, basically.

  • So it's just not pure white.

  • Slightly off white, uh, and then for the red of parts were with some of the red parts of the blue part.

  • So basically some of the red, blue and black parts around on the kid, I'm going to make those in a really dark gray, almost black color.

  • This is the number 71 Midnight Blue.

  • It's just a really super dark blue.

  • It's basically black on.

  • So for the red part there, on the feet, those are gonna be black.

  • These parts on the back of these thrusters, which were already black, those were just goingto remain black.

  • It's there on the side skirt that we're black and black the bits on the back of the elbow here, which were originally blue.

  • I think those were going to also be black.

  • So I'm actually kind of a little bit Thorne at the moment about these chest parts on the top of the chest here because, well, I was originally thinking was making the chest parts there, and then maybe the blue parts on the back of the elbow, either in black or using this for my darker color to replace the blue is his number 22 dark Earth So I was gonna have this as like, my dark color for replacing the blue parts on there and then for replacing the white.

  • I was going to do that here primarily using Mr Color 44 number Tana.

  • And then I'm going to do a sort of kemo on this.

  • Using this as the secondary color for like, the camo is number 19 Sandy Brown.

  • So I'll talk a little more about how I'm gonna do that a little bit later on here once we get over there and we're getting down to the actual painting of it.

  • As for the parts around the chest there, I don't think I want to make those black, But there will be a few black parts in a few of this dark brown parts.

  • So there's just gonna be for that is the frame is also going to be relatively dark for the frame.

  • I'm going to use a mix here of number 40 German gray and then Mr Metallic Mr Metal Color to 12 iron.

  • So iron is this, um, Mr Metallic lion, once, as I mentioned before, is the kind of paints that when you spray these on and then you can buff the paints and it will kindof shined the edges Sort of give you like something similar to, like dry brushing, which you could just do like without actual dry brushing.

  • You just buff the parts with a cloth or something like that, and it'll just shine the edges of the corners and stuff of your parts with just this paint.

  • So it's a pretty awesome paint just straight up.

  • All like this is maybe a little bit too Maur metallic really than I want.

  • So I'm just gonna use maybe, like, 2/3 of this and then 1/3 just German grey just to make it not quite so overwhelmingly, just just iron.

  • But I do want to have a little bit of that effect on that.

  • So there's gonna be my colors for this.

  • And I really went back and forth a lot before.

  • I was thinking of doing something Maur just kind of colorful, stylized, and I just kept coming back to the idea of wanting to do this color scheme because I think it'll look really cool on the robber toast, so we'll see.

  • You know, the who knows.

  • There's nothing stopping me from building of their one someday in a different color scheme.

  • If I really want to, there will be a couple of other colors used aside from these just kind of like the main ones that go over.

  • I will use a little bit of like a dark red for, like the piece on the chin, that'll that'll state red and then for the weapons and things.

  • And then some of the details around on the frame as well do detail painting in different colors.

  • The weapons will be probably a different color gray or something, some other sort of metallic color, probably for some of those, but the main colors are pretty much decided, so we can get to disassembling this guy and go over there and start painting out some of the main colors for this.

  • So let's get to it.

  • All right, guys.

  • So the main color is down on the armor.

  • And now the secondary color this sandy brown, I've been a little bit on the fence.

  • What I really want to go through with this or not.

  • My idea was to do a kind of loose camel on that where I'm gonna do some masking like you can see here where it's kind of like a large blocking pattern where I'm going to spray, Uh, just so, like only partially.

  • Only part of like the outer pattern will be, like, really clearly a fine.

  • So you got, like, some heart.

  • It is here, been like, down below that it'll just kind of like fade out.

  • So it's just like, uh, I'm sure there's probably some board exactly for this specific type of camera, but just some kind of large blocks of color that hard in this, like this very, slightly different color for this on there, Just not clearly defined blocks just only on one side.

  • Now the reason why I've been a little bit on the fence about this is because this well, I think we can look good on the shoulders.

  • There's not really much anywhere else on the kit where this will look good.

  • This as far as like, in my opinion, I don't think that this particular technique, like painting, came on the style that I want to do well look good, really any anywhere else, really much on the kids.

  • So I might just do just this just a little bit here on the shoulders, and that's pretty much it not anywhere else on the kid.

  • I think that would probably still work out.

  • Okay, Uh, we'll see.

  • Once I got that on how much I like it, I may not like it.

  • I might have to repaint these parts, but if it's just the two parts here for the shoulders that I have to repaint, at least that's not big a deal.

  • But I think just doing this just a little bit here up at the top on the shoulders will be enough just to give just kind of one interesting little point there on the color scheme.

  • There's a little something there, and then I don't need to go overboard.

  • Just do it came all over the armor because there's so much detail everywhere on the armor, and that's it.

  • So much broken up into little pieces.

  • We don't have pieces where there's, like a big large piece like this, other than pretty much just the shoulders, the only like wide open space where I think the camel pattern would kind of help break up this base little bit.

  • So I'm gonna give it a try and we'll see how it looks, I guess.

  • All right, let's peel off our tape.

  • See how we did, uh, actually feeling kind of hopeful because the color is a really good color.

  • I was, like, just barely different, but it's definitely visible on here.

  • I think that came out looking pretty good.

  • I'm happy with that.

  • So all right, that's gonna work for what I was wanting for that.

  • I think so.

  • That will be good, Andi.

  • Yeah, I think that would work very well.

  • So I think I'm just gonna just stick to this Just being a little bit on the shoulder, is there, I think I don't know.

  • You know, it's kind of hard to tell without seeing the whole kit come together.

  • I think there's gonna be in so much detail and everything going on with the whole kit once it's all painted and panel line and decals on there and everything.

  • Thinking about doing a little bit weathering as well.

  • Just a little bit dry brushing and things like that.

  • So it once that's all done.

  • Uh, this while it looks like pretty apparent on just these two parts, it's gonna I think, be much less noticeable on the kit once everything is all actually done and put together.

  • So it'll just be kind of a very slight, really noticeable accent up there on the shoulder.

  • So, uh, that's gonna be it for this episode.

  • Now that all the based painting is done, I'm gonna go ahead and put some, like, reassemble some aspects of the kid.

  • And then in the next episode, after I've got a coat of gloss over everything we can start on the pen aligning, detail, painting all that stuff.

  • I'm just gonna take a little bit.

  • But that'll be something we can work on the next episode and then getting into decals and all of that.

  • And everything's well, you later stages.

  • But that's it for this video.

  • Guys.

  • Thanks so much for watching.

  • I'll see you next time.

  • Bye bye.

Hey, what's going on, guys?
