Hi this is Tutor Nick P and this is Verb Phrase 135. The verb phrase today is to
bottle up. Okay. Let's take a look at the note here. Here's number one. If someone
bottles something up, he or she puts something into a bottle or stores it in
a bottle. So you can physically bottle up something by putting something inside
the bottle and sealing it up. Then we could say you could bottle up something
or number two here. The second one. If someone bottles up an emotion or bad
feeling, they hold them and don't allow them to
be expressed openly. So you could you could bottle up a lot of bad feelings
inside you. All right. So let's let's look at some examples here. The first one goes
to the first example here. This one is the one where you physically put
something in a bottle. You bottle it up. So number one here. Every six months her
mother bottles up some homemade wine. So maybe she makes her own wine and she
just leaves it there. You know, maybe you know, it needs time to you know turn into
good wine, to ferment basically. All right. Let's look at number two here. If
you keep these negative feelings all bottled up, you may end up with an ulcer.
So it may do some physical internal damage in your body if you keep these bad
feelings bottled up. You know, they may take a toll on your body. Your internal
organs, your ulcer or something like that. So don't keep them bottled up. All right
Number three. You need to talk to someone. You know maybe a counselor or something
like that. You should, you should see a counselor. If you continue to keep these
emotions bottled up you may end up having a nervous breakdown. All right . That's
another way that people may say it. So especially bad feelings or bad emotions
if you don't talk about it or talk to someone or let them out , we say that
somebody's keeping something bottled up. Remember, if they bottle up, eventually
they may blow or they may have breakdown or something like that. Anyway
I hope you got it . I hope, it was clear .Thank you for your time. Bye-bye.
