So summer is finally here in Tokyo

いよいよ東京にも夏がやってきましたね

And I've decided to take a one day trip to Yokohama

そして、横浜への日帰り旅行をすることにしました。

I say "One Day Trip" and it sounds really far

日帰り」と言うと、本当に遠くに聞こえてしまいます。

But actually Yokohama isn't THAT far away from Tokyo

しかし、実際には横浜は東京からそれほど離れていません。

It's around 1.5 hours away from where I live

私が住んでいるところから1時間半ほどの距離です。

And you actually get a direct train to Shibuya

そして、実際に渋谷まで直通電車に乗って

And I think it takes around 40 minutes?

で、40分くらいかな？

A lot of people who live in Tokyo

東京に住んでいる人が多い

Actually live in Yokohama

実は横浜に住んでいる

Because the rent is much cheaper

家賃が格段に安いから

And in my opinion, the environment is SO much better

そして、私の意見では、環境はとても良いです。

So since Yokohama is a port city

横浜は港町なので

You get a really international

あなたは本当に国際的な

Or a really western vibe

あるいは、本当に西洋的な雰囲気

Around here

この辺では

You'll see a lot of European looking restaurants

ヨーロッパ風のレストランがたくさんあります。

A lot of outdoor cafes

アウトドアカフェがいっぱい

Those are like really rare in Tokyo

東京では珍しい

Because, you know, air pollution lol

だって、大気汚染だもんね(笑)

So whenever I come to Yokohama

だから横浜に来るたびに

I kinda feel like

何となくですが

I'm in Europe

私はヨーロッパにいます

Or like I'm in Hawaii,

ハワイにいるみたいに。

since it's right by the ocean

海のそばだから

So today I'm going to show you guys

だから今日は、皆さんにお見せしたいのは

Some of the must see spots

必見のスポットをいくつかご紹介

in Yokohama in my opinion

私の中では横浜で

And I hope you guys will like it!

そして、皆さんにも気に入ってもらえるといいですね!

My first spot is this

私の最初の場所は、これです。

Yamashita Koen (Yamashita Park). So what i usually do,

山下公園（やましたこうえん）。で、普段何をしているかというと

is get off at

で降りる

Motomachi-Chukagai Station

元町・中華街駅

Or Chinatown station,

中華街の駅とか

and I walk over to Yamashita Koen

と山下公園に歩いていくと

They have all kinds of events here

ここでは様々なイベントが開催されています。

almost every weekend

ほぼ毎週末

They have beer festivals, and in October they have Octoberfest

ビール祭りもあるし、10月にはオクトーバーフェストもある。

A lot of alcohol related events lol

お酒関連のイベントが多いですね(笑)

And this week just so happens to be

そして今週はたまたま

"Dragon Boat Festival" week

"端午の節句 "ウィーク

So there's a Dragon Boat Race going on

そこでドラゴンボートレースが行われています

For those who don't know

知らない人のために

Dragon boat festival is like this...

ドラゴンボート祭りってこんな感じなんですね...。

Chinese festival, and it's to commemorate

中国のお祭り、そしてそれを記念して

a really famous poet

名歌人

And on this day, you..

そしてこの日、あなたは...

race dragon boats?

レースドラゴンボート？

And I guess since Chinatown is right over there

チャイナタウンがすぐそこにあるので

They have this annual event at Yamashita Park.

山下公園で毎年恒例のイベントがあるそうです。

So Yamashita Park stretches around I would guess

山下公園はその辺に広がっているんですね。

1 KM along the Yokohama shoreline,

横浜の海岸線沿いに1km。

along the Yokohama port

横浜港沿い

So what I usually do is to come here and check out if they have any events

普段はここに来てイベントがあるかどうかチェックしています。

Usually there are

通常は

alcohol related events,

アルコール関連のイベント。

At least on the weekends that I've been here before, there are almost always alcohol related events

少なくとも私は前にここに来たことがある週末には、ほとんどの場合、アルコール関連のイベントがあります。

And if there are no events,

そして、イベントがなければ

I would usually just get a cup of coffee, get some sandwiches, sit down on the grass somewhere

So after Yamashita Park, what I usually do is take a 10 minute walk

で、山下公園の後、いつもは何をするかというと、10分ほど歩くことにしています。

from the park to Akarenga

公園から赤レンガまで

Which is the Red Brick Warehouse

赤レンガ倉庫はどっち？

This is a century old warehouse, and was reconstructed by the government

100年前に建てられた倉庫で、国が再建したものです。

a while back, and now that it's reconstructed

しばらく前に再構築して、今は

it's got a lot of restaurants,

レストランもたくさんあるし。

cool souvenir shops

お土産屋さん

hipster stores, or like open house

ヒップスターのお店や、オープンハウスのような

terrace cafes and stuff like that

テラスカフェとか

and I think it's pretty cool

と私はそれがかなりクールだと思います。

On this square that you see outside Akarenga

赤レンガの外に見えるこの広場では

They usually have lots of events here

ここでは普段からイベントが盛りだくさん

And this weekend on the other side, they have this beer festival thing

そして今週末には反対側でビール祭りが開催されます

進め方

I'm not sure if it's a beer festival, but I saw them giving out free beer

ビール祭りかどうかはわかりませんが、ビールを無料で配っているのを見ました。

So I'm just gonna assume that

ということにしておきます。

it's another alcohol related festival lol

またまたお酒関連のお祭りですね(笑)

They have all kinds of Yatai

いろんな種類のヤタイを持っている

or food stalls over there, they have street food

屋台にはストリートフードがあります

It's a whole lotta fun

楽しくて仕方がない

Akarenga also lights up at night,

赤レンガも夜になるとライトアップされます。

so if you have time you can walk over to Yamashita park

時間があれば山下公園まで歩いて行けます。

And look across the harbor, you'll see the red brick warehouse

そして、港の向こう側を見ると、赤レンガ倉庫が見えてきます。

just bask in really warm, beautiful yellow lighting

あたたかくて美しい黄色の光を浴びる

And the big ummm

そして、大きなうーん

ferris wheel, the Yokohama landmark in the back

観覧車、奥の横浜ランドマーク

It's I would say, one of the most romantic spots

最もロマンチックなスポットの一つと言っても過言ではないでしょう。

In this area

このエリアでは

It's definitely an awesome date spot

デートスポットとしては間違いなく最高です。

So you know

だから、あなたは知っている

If you're here with your boyfriend or girlfriend

彼氏や彼女と一緒に来ているのであれば

definitely come here

And of course like most harbors,

もちろん、ほとんどの港のように

Yokohama has like this cruise ship thing going on

横浜はクルーズ船のような感じで

So there are like I think, 2 or 3 types of cruise ships that you can go on

クルーズ船には２、３種類のタイプがあると思います。

The tickets are pretty reasonable, like

のようなかなりリーズナブルなチケットです。

2000 for adults and 1000 for kids I think (JPY) Some of these cruising companies also have like

大人2000人、子供1000人(円)だと思います。

lunch cruises, dinner cruises,

ランチクルーズ、ディナークルーズ

beer parties or beer gardens during Summer,

夏の間はビアパーティーやビアガーデンを開催しています。

So that could also be something that you can check out at Yokohama

ということで、横浜でチェックしてみるのもアリかもしれませんね。

So one of the main reaasons that I came to Yokohama today

ということで、今日横浜に来た大きな理由の一つは

Is not for the beer festival, it's not for the park

ビール祭りのためではなく、公園のためではありません。

it's not for the red brick house, it's actually for CHINATOWN

赤レンガの家のためではなく、実はCHINATOWNのためなんです。

Because this is one of the few places in Japan where I can

なぜなら、ここは日本でも数少ない

experience food from home

おうちごはんを体験する

Like, I know it's not "Taiwan Town", but

例えば、「台湾町」ではないですが

Taiwanese food, Chinese food, they all taste kinda the same to me

台湾料理、中華料理、どれも同じような味がします。

Once you step inside Chinatown, you'll see alot of restaurants

一度チャイナタウンに入ると、あなたはレストランの多くが表示されます。

And alot of them are all you can eat

そして、その多くは食べ放題です。

for like 15 USD or 16 USD

15ドルか16ドルのように

It's pretty cheap

それはかなり安いです。

There was this one time

when I went to an all you can eat restaurant with no time limit

And it was only 10 USD, so I literally sat there

the whole afternoon stuffing my face

and it was only like, 10 dollars, and plus a beer that I ordered

So food here is generally pretty reasonably priced

and granted, there are a few places here and there

that tastes kinda weird,

and doesn't taste like legit Chinese food

but you know, you just gotta try and see

most of them are really good, especially the street food

like those food stalls selling those little dumplings or little pork buns and stuff

餃子や豚まんの屋台とか

those are really good

それはそれはいい

There are a couple of Chinatowns in Japan

日本にはいくつかのチャイナタウンがあります。

There's one in Yokohama here

横浜にもありますよ

One in Nagasaki, and one in Kobe

長崎に1つ、神戸に1つ

These are a few of the larger Chinatowns in Japan

これらは、日本の大きな中華街のいくつかを紹介します。

But Yokohama is the largest one

でも横浜が一番大きい

of them all

Yokohama's Chinatown is so legit

横浜の中華街がマジでヤバい

they actually have a temple in here

ここにはお寺がある

so let's go check it out

For some reason in Chinatown, apart from your usually restaurants

チャイナタウンではなぜかいつものレストランとは別に

and food stalls, you also get a lot of

や屋台もたくさん出ています。

thrift shops, or second hand clothes shops

古着屋

And also a lot of Indian style and

また、インド風のものも多く

Thai style, or just SouthEast Asian style

タイ式、もしくは東南アジア式

accessory shop and clothes shops

小物屋・服飾店

Which is pretty cool you know

それはあなたが知っているかなりクールです。

So apart from good food

美味しい料理とは別に

you can also do a little bit of shopping here

ここで買い物をすることもできます。

Get yourself some 10 dollar slippers

10ドルのスリッパを手に入れろ

scarves, bags, thongs, whatever,

マフラーでもバッグでもTバックでも何でもいいから

it's actually pretty cool!

それは実際にはかなりクールなんだよ

Our last spot for today, is the

今日の最後のスポットは

Osanbashi Pier, which is a wooden made bridge

木造の大さん橋桟橋

shaped like a bridge, located right behind Yamashita Koen

橋の形をした山下公園の裏手

So as I mentioned before, you can see all the big landmarks of Yokohama from this bridge

この橋からは横浜のランドマークが一望できます。

including the Akarenga

the red brick warehouse

赤レンガ倉庫

The big ferris wheel,

大きな観覧車。

The landmark tower, and just like the whole beautiful shoreline

ランドマークタワー、そして美しい海岸線全体のように

It's pretty crowded today because there's like this festival going on

今日はお祭りのようなものがあるので、かなり混んでいます。

And people are waiting on the bridge for the fireworks to go off

橋の上で花火が上がるのを待っている人たちも

but usually it's a pretty chill and secluded place

でも、普段は人里離れた静かな場所です。

it's very romantic

ロマンチックだ

it's the perfect date spot

デートスポットとして最適
