"Do you have animals on your farm?"
We have cows, sheep, rabbits, bees, chickens, dogs, cats
We have cows, belted galloway's, and we have cats...
We have two goats here on the property...
We love to have chickens around...
Chickens... a rabbit, dog, squirrels, turkey's
Barn owls that we try to encourage to come here every year.
We have jersey cattle, we have pigs, we have a flock of chickens
"Do they have names?"
Henrietta and Thank You
They are just all Oreo Cows, some are double stuffed and some are single.
Merv, and we have Billy the two goats
Duchas, Duke, Chop, Shank.
The cows have names, Bella and Daisy. Ah, the mascot pig is Ruby (I believe), and the chickens are 1-70.
Olive trees, apple trees, other fruit and nut trees, bees in the middle of our vineyard, oak trees surrounding our vineyards
...solar power, dry farmed so no reliance on water, major composts,
We have vegetables and we have fruit trees growing here
We have forest that haven't been messed with...
um, have been putting... bringing back red woods that used to be indigenous to this part of the country.
We have over 25 Red Wood trees, we are moving in... we purchased olives and they are getting planted...
... we have free range hens that have complete range of the 12.5 acres
We've planted buffer stripes and insectories.
Organic Eggs, organic olive oil, and organic various fresh produce.
We have bio diesel... we enhance the owl population with barn owl boxes
we try to have areas the natural wild life, the deer, the wild boar the turkeys...
what have you can have some sort of corridor between our vineyard and other parts of the vineyard.
We obviously do nothing to try to damage any of our waterways, that we have...
we have as much control of the run off water from winter rains as possible with colverts...
We use basically hot water only to clean most of our equipment whether it's barrels or tanks.
We use basically hot water only to clean most of our equipment whether it's barrels or tanks.
We have two active wells on the property that are each 600 feet deep so they are very very pure.
We have olive trees, olive oil and olives, edible olives
Describe your wines?
Wild, funky, earthy
balanced... complex
traditional, old world, old fashioned
balanced... ah, graceful... um, authentic.
balanced would be number one... food friendly, elegant, complex, deep, old world,
Delicious... (laughter)
complex, emotional.
Very aromatic... and perhaps with a bit of feminine elegance... harmony
fresh, pure, different, good
Spicy, jammy, HOT, crazy, wild
Clean, robust, concentrated, ripe, unique...
...never interesting, cuz the interesting is bad, when someone is drinking your wine and they say
and they say "Intersting" you that's bad... (laughter)
What would you NEVER do to your grapes or wine?
I wouldn't put all the various chemicals and additives that you could put into wine that create different flavor profiles...
...there is a wide array of commercial yeast to put in to get flavorings from banana to blueberry to blackberry, in wine, I wouldn't be putting those in.
I would never ever... apply...herbicides
Any type of pesticide spraying... ah, any type of herbicide spraying
I am not interested in tannins, or enzymes
Fining and racking
