字幕表 動画を再生する 英語字幕をプリント On Monday, November 14 the moon is going to appear bigger than it has in nearly 70 years. So what's going on and what does it mean? Well, every year or so we have what's called a Supermoon. Why? Well the moon doesn't orbit the earth in a perfect circle. It's more of an ellipse. We have full moons throughout the year and when the moon is at its closest and we get a full moon, we call the Supermoon because it appears slightly bigger in the sky. The reason this year's Supermoon is going to be a big deal is because this year the moon is going to be the closest it's been since 1948, appearing about 14% bigger than normal. Instead of looking like this, it's going to look like this. So it's going to kind of be a Super Supermoon. The moon will appear at its largest on early Monday morning but it should be pretty big on Sunday night. Now if the weather blocks the view or you just don't get chance to see it in november 14, you won't have to wait another 70 years for your chance to see a Super Supermoon. The moon is expected to be roughly this close again in 2034. So that's the big deal with the moon on Monday. i'm Jonathan Sobolewski for AL.com
