It's a Good Idea with Angela Oberer
Last Looks Tip #513
Hi there, I'm Angela Oberer and today's good idea is about creating the best version of
you when you go out in public. Now they say there's never a second chance to make a first
impression and if that's true, then we have no idea the people you are going to meet
today, if they will impact your future career or your love life or what?
We have no idea. So before we leave the house we want to do
a head to toe check called "Last Looks". We want to make sure the package we have pulled
together presents the best version of us. Now "Last Looks" comes from the film and TV
industry, where before the cameras start rolling, they bring in a person to check all of the
actors and actresses and make sure their hair and make up is ready to go. And that their
collars and their outfit aren't askew and that you can't see hidden microphones and all that stuff.
So once the cameras are ready to roll, we're good. Right?
Okay so now we're not rolling cameras on ourselves when we leave in public, but of course there's
the rule of revenge. And the rule of revenge is when you leave, even if you're just running
down to the grocery store, dress as if you're going to run into your EX.
And when they see you they're going to be jealous they didn't stay with you because
you look mighty fine. Alright now, there's a problem, lots of people
only have a bathroom mirror that shows the top half of themself. Okay, now that lets
you brush your teeth and put your makeup on, and you look fine from here to here. But what
happens to the back of you, and from here on down?
Do you even know what you look like? And if you don't, then go today to Walmart
or Target or any of these stores that sell over the door full length mirrors.
They are inexpensive, they're like ten bucks and it lets you stand across the room and
see from head to toe what you look like. Do you even know?
And you can get one of these hand held mirrors to hold behind you, in front of you, to see
behind you. So that you can see what you look like from behind.
Now I'm going out to work in the yard, I'm
going to go mow my grass, and so I would say that the clothes I'm wearing today are completely
appropriate for what I'm about to do. But if you're going out in public, to the
store, you're going to go to the market, you're going to go meet some folks, you're going
to go socialize, whatever, make sure the outfits you've pulled together are cohesive -- and that
they present the best version of you. That your skirts hang correctly and that your
slips are hidden, and that your shoes match your pants, and your pants match your top
and everything fits you appropriately. That you're not wearing ill fitting, unmatched
clothing, that hangs poorly. You don't want to be that guy or girl. So make sure
that you do last looks, make sure that you present the best version of yourself because
it will help boost your self esteem (and ensure you'll make your best first impression) and
It's a good idea.
