whats up youtube today apple released its iOS 10 beta 2 to developers and I
wanted to do a speed comparison or performance tests on the iphone 5 soon
to be the oldest supported device in the iphone lineup so this here is a freshly
installed device them on beta 1 and i just want to kind of do a quick speed
comparison and I not going to do a Buddha but this here is actually the
boot up time for iOS 10 beta 1 on this device actually it was about 48 seconds
which is fairly comparable to some of the iOS 9 builds which usually get about
50 to 54 seconds I'm going to launch a few applications i'm going to install an
application and run a speedtest and we'll see how the iphone performs on
both beta 1 and beta 2 so here we go
yeah
yeah
yeah
yeah
yeah
yeah
so you can see there is a few performance issues i noticed with the
app store there had been some issues so the camera opens really quickly
just get a few more applications open
so with a few apps open let's try now installing an app from the app store and
just see how quick it is
and we'll install a speed test app just to see how our Wi-Fi is so is it as I
was saying the App Store kind of had some issues and beta 1
I found you had to force close it a lot and then real it hopefully hear it will
work for us
here we go
try and stalling and out
once it got going there
installed pretty quickly and then last will try a speed test just to see how
the Wi-Fi performances i know with iOS 8 it was really bad iOS 9 seemed to kind
of fix that in a balanced out
let's hope with iOS 10 we're not going to get into another Wi-Fi issue here
so far looks pretty good
yeah
yeah
so I did this test with a bunch of stuff open sea jumping in and out of
applications
yeah
yeah
so little bit of a leg depending on how quick you get with it kind of jumps back
to your home screen
anyways guys that is iOS 10 beta 1 performance
I will run here at the very end a geekbench will speed this up just as
they can take about a minute or so and I won't waste your as time and then we'll
jump into beta 2 and see how it does so let's see how this goes
alright so we're back here with her geekbench scores for the beta 1 of iOS
10
now i'm going to update the device quickly and we will be back with another
performance review kia
yeah
yeah
yeah
whats up youtube so i'm back on iOS 10 beta 2 and they just did my boot test if
you guys watched the previous iOS 10 beta 1 video I you can see here that I
got a 49 seconds they're both 48 second boot time on iOS 10 beta - I did about
42 seconds on the iphone 5 so I'm pretty impressed there
I'm going to do the exact same test that i did before in the previous video here
with ending at a geekbench downloading an app and just seeing how the OS feels
on the older device
so let's begin just by opening up some applications I we have nothing open up
here
you can see the new build number
yeah
the App Store feels a lot less glitchy
yeah
yeah
yeah
open up a few more applications here
now we'll go back into the app store will try downloading an app again
yeah
actually crash there but i do double click it
so the app did install there even though it crashed is ok so I'd say the app
store
it seems to respond a little better but you know it still has some bugs and
glitches this is a beta so it doesn't really matter they'll have all that
fixed before public release Wi-Fi again seems to be very good which is good news
yeah
uploads be kind of still doesn't know what it's doing but it is up there
yeah
yeah
yeah
yeah
jumping in and out of apps feels not bad i would say beta 2 has some slight
improvements I'm sure there's going to be some bugs like they're usually is but
so there you guys have it all ended with a geekbench but i would say they are
pretty similar
it looks like more back and stuff than anything that Apple had actually done
one thing I did notice is the Notification Center here has the widget
so you can scroll over to them but let's finish with the Geekbench now I left all
the apps open the last time so I'm going to leave all the apps open again this
time just like I did they didn't clear it i know a lot of people do
clear before they run and get bench just to give the best memory available and
stuff but since i didn't do that on the bass test I and I tried to open up the
exact same apps i opened up for a let it run like this
so I will pause quick come back and see what our scores are Harry
so the Geekbench finished the multi score is a little higher
we'll just show the score here on the last one and so there you guys go very
small improvement
thanks for watching make sure you like this video subscribe to the channel for
more videos and we'll see you again next time
Cheers
