why do women wear makeup? Specifically, do women wear makeup for men? And for all you

curious viewers out there, the answer is yes women do sometimes wear makeup for men. But

most of the time they don't. I know I know this is shocking news. I'm sure there are

some guys watching this video like "What? No, how is it even possible that women are

dressing themselves up to look all nice and not, you know, to please me? I don't understand."

There are so many different things I want to talk about on this subject, so I'm going

to move quickly. But first things first, why do people think this? Why do people think

that women wear makeup only for men? And not everyone think this but it is a very popular

argument that I've heard. And I don't really agree with it. Personally, I think it stems

from this notion that women are superficial and incomplete without men. You see it all

the time in the media with people making fun of women for taking selfies, of movies telling

girls that they don't have a fulfilled life unless they have a guy. AKA early Disney movies.

I mean, Little Mermaid, I still love that movie; it's very entertaining, but looking

back the message is kind of messed up. If you wear too much makeup, you're a "slut",

you're "cake face", you're "trying too hard", you're "not to be trusted" -- which I hate

hate pictures like these are you serious, this is why you have trust issues? that's

why you have trust issues? because really I think that's the reason that nobody wants

to date you. Because you're a judgmental jerk who bases a woman's morality on the amount

of makeup she wears, while simultaneously implying that these women aren't worthy of

your annoying self. And if you wear too little makeup you're "not trying", "ugly", "lazy",

there are a lot of quotation marks in this, but you get the point. And you get those questions

like "Did you sleep at all last night? Are you sick?" Which I understand are questions

that are usually well intended, but you know if you're not wearing makeup and you get those

questions you're kind of like "eh, nope that's just my face" not really a win win situation

here. So back to the questions "why do women wear makeup?" and "do women wear makeup for

guys?" yes there are absolutely times where a woman is wearing makeup to impress a man

or a woman or anything in between. Look at Selena Gomez's song "Good For You" sometimes

you just want to wear a tight dress and do your hair up real nice, and look good to impress

somebody. And that is totally okay. There is nothing wrong with dressing up for somebody

else, as long as you're not completely dependent on their approval in order to feel good about

yourself, because that's when it becomes a little unhealthy. But it's important to remember

that's not the only reason women get dressed up and try to look nice. All right everyone,

scooch in because I'm about to drop a truth bomb on you, a knowledge bomb on you come

on, come on in. sometimes women dress themselves up and try to look nice... for themselves.

Mind blown! Yeah, sometimes we want to be able to look in the mirror and be like "dang,

I look good" or sometimes we want to try a new makeup technique, or sometimes we just

like putting on makeup and getting all fancied up because it makes us feel good and we enjoy

it for ourselves. Either way, it doesn't matter the motivation behind someone looking a certain

way, because at the end of the day it's that individual's face, it's that individual's

hair, it's that individual's body, and most importantly, it's that individual's life.

Also saying "that individual's" repeatedly is a tongue twister man. So this is a message

for everyone regardless of gender, feel free to comment on people's appearances, but never

feel entitled to somebody where you think you can mock or taunt their choices in makeup,

in hair, or fashion. Because you can't; you're not them, they're not hurting you. So just

don't do it. The answer is simple: women wear makeup because they want to. That's it; that's

really all there is to it. And to be honest, I personally dream of a world where one day

we can all wear makeup, men included because I think right now it's thought of as this

girly thing but like no man makeups awesome. No matter what. It should stop being seen

as this girls only thing. Because you know what we all get acne, acne sucks, and sometimes

good coverup makes you feel a lot better. And eye shadow, why's it only have to be for

girls? Everyone loves a good smokey eyes, right? I'm just saying. Well that's it for
