When I first heard the concept of love hotels

Which inconspicuous love hotel should we go to?

どの、”目立たない”ホテルに行こうか？

The one with the roman temple on top

ローマ神殿が上についてるやつ

or the one with Father Christmas standing outside?

それともサンタクロースが外で出迎えてくれるやつ？

Nooo, fuck it! Let's go to the one that looks like Jurassic Park

いや、そんなの置いといて、

And to me, that's the irony of Love Hotels

ジュラシックパークみたいなホテルに行こう

if you're seen walking in a regular hotel

僕にとってラブホテルの皮肉なところは、

there's an assumption that you're gonna sleep, relax...and steal some towels and toothbrushes

もし普通のホテルに入っていくところを 見られたとしたら

But if you're seen walking into a Love Hotel, the assumptions might be different

予想されるのは、 寝る、くつろぐ、タオルと歯ブラシを盗む、くらいだろう

Well it's not just sleeping and...bed things

でもラブホテルに入っていくのを見られたら 予想される行為は変わってくる

You have food as well

寝て、ベッドの上で色々するだけじゃなくて

Food,pizzas

食べ物も楽しめる

My favorite aspect of this is

食べ物、ピザとかね

There's a room where adult atmosphere is actually tossed

コレがいいね

Whatever that means

ここには大人の雰囲気が”投げられている”らしい

But Love Hotels are a pretty big business in Japan

どう意味か分からないけど

With 25000 Love Hotels

しかしながらラブホテル事業は日本ではかなり大きい

Visited over 500 million times a year

25000ものラブホテルが存在し

In a market worth 40 billion dollars

毎年500万人以上の人がそこを訪れる

And that is a lot of love

400億円もの売り上げをたたき出し

But with so many Love Hotels it's important to stand out

そして愛に溢れている

which has led to a variety of brilliant names and things

他の多くのラブホテルに負けないように、 目立つことは非常に大切だ

I know I'd love to have been at the board meetings when these names were thought up

それ故、数々の素晴らしい名前と 施設が生み出されてきた

My favorite is of course, the Hotel Mickey Cookies

ラブホテルの名前の決議会に是非出席したいよ

Not just because of the genius combination of Mickey and Cookies

僕のお気に入りは、もちろん 「ホテル・ミッキークッキー」だ。

But I can picture that Eureka moment the hotel owner had

with just startling clarity

僕はそこのオーナーに電撃が 走った瞬間が想像出来るんだ

The Hotels are actually very convenient due to their low prices and flexibility

As a result of not being able to book the rooms in advance

ラブホテルは低価格で非常に利用しやすいんだから 実際すごく便利なんだ

So with that in mind if you're travelling around or if you're tired

事前に予約することは出来ないから

You can just check in and get yourself a room

だからもし旅行をしているときや、疲れているときに

For example my friend and I were in Osaka, and we missed our train back to our hostel

簡単にチェックイン出来て、 部屋を利用出来る

so we decided to check into a Love Hotel instead

僕が友達と大阪にいたときに、 終電を逃して宿に戻ることが出来なかったんだ

And we were just looking for a simple cosy comfortable room

だから代わりにラブホテルに泊まることにした

And so we walked into a Love Hotel

シンプルでくつろげる部屋を探してたんだ

And when you walk into a Love Hotel, you wont meet anyone

僕らはラブホテルの中に入っていった

What you will have is just a big screen

ラブホテルの中では 特に誰にも会う必要がない

And you will push the number of the room that you wanna go in

巨大なスクリーンがあるだけだ

And unfortunately there was only one room left in that Love Hotel

そして入りたい部屋の番号を押すだけだ

And frankly it took…

僕たちが行ったときは 生憎部屋がひとつしか空いてなかった

it took the Mickey....

正直に言うと...

衝撃的だったよ

You know when you just wanna go to sleep…

ただ疲れて眠りたいだけのときに

You just wanna lay down on the bed

ただただベッドで横になりたいときに

Fuck is this?

一体これは何なんだ？

Fasten with a rope and there needs to be nothing

It's so terrifying

もし外観が素晴らしいラブホテルに行くなら

And whilst the rooms are fairly standard or being with a nautical theme

日本一有名なこのホテルを 避けることは出来ないだろう

The hotel is best known for its eye-catching exterior

クイーン・エリザベスだ

Which is a huge replica of the Queen Elizabeth, itself

部屋はごく普通か、 少し船室っぽいテーマになっている

But of course, no replica of a huge ship

このホテルはかなり目を引く外観で有名だ

that definitely isn't the Titanic, wouldn't be complete

まさにクイーン・エリザベスのレプリカなんだ

without Jack and Rose standing at the front of the ship, pulling their infamous pose

ただ、絶対にあのデカい船のレプリカじゃない

just like they did in Titanic

And whilst the room are fairly standard

with the good old caged bed and Mummy room

あのワクワクと緊張を体験できる

This hotel is awesome just because of the detail and because of the concept I mean

ジュラシックパークの問をくぐり抜けるときの あの緊張と興奮だ

It's Jurassic Park, what more could you possibly want?

いや、違った意味での緊張と興奮かも知れない

We're gonna make a fortune with this place

でも部屋はいたって普通なんだ

What's better than having a train carriage all to yourself?

檻の中にベッドがあり、 ハムナプトラのような部屋もある

Having a train carriage to yourself, in your Hotel Room!

このホテルはコンセプトが素晴らしい

From the outside of the Towers Hotel you wouldn't think much of it

だってジュラシックパークだぜ？

Especially considering it's next-door to arguably Japan's most disappointingly named Love Hotel

ここで我々は大きな富を築きあげるだろう

But the Towers Hotel has a great reputation for its up-market rooms including

第一位：タワーズホテル 交通機関大賞

A room with a swimming pool

電車の車両丸ごと独り占めするほど 贅沢なことはないだろう

A room with a pool table

ホテルの部屋が丸ごと電車の車両なんだ

And even a room with bumper cars

タワーズホテルの外観からは想像も出来ないだろう

But its most famous room is the room themed like a Subway train

しかも日本で一番つまらない名前の ホテルの横にあるからね

And just for the level of detail that went into the room

ただ、タワーズホテルは その高級感溢れる部屋の数々で高い評価を受けている

from the signs to the glass floor of the carriage itself

プール付きの部屋

and for creating a scenario

ビリヤード台のある部屋

of limitless train possibility

バンパーカー付きの部屋

The Tower Hotel comes out on top in my opinion

でも一番有名なのは地下鉄車両のような部屋だ

So if you're in Japan, try a Love Hotel

しかもこの部屋が非常に 詳細に作り込まれている

be it with your boyfriend, girlfriend or just a friend

サイン、ガラスの床など

They're cheap, they're convenient

しっかりと設定付けがされている

and they have loads of cool stuff in the room

タワーホテルが僕の見解では一番だ

from Karaoke to sometimes even Saunas

もし日本に来たら 是非ラブホテルに行ってみてくれ

Love Hotels seem creepy or strange

安くて便利だ

Honestly, they're not, they are pretty standard
