Do I need to study English grammar?

Uh, and there's two things that I want to say about that.

Uh, two things, the Bob the Canadian recommendation when it comes to studying English grammar as you learn English.

Um, because some people say if you just listen enough, uh if you just read enough, you'll learn grammar automatically.

And I I actually think that's a good idea, but I don't think that's everything you should be doing.

Uh, but you should get a book.

written in your own language, in your native language, that explains English grammar.

This is incredibly helpful.

Um, when you can read in your own language, the explanations for the different verb tenses or phrasal verbs or all of the other intricacies of English grammar.

When you can have it explained to you in your own language, it's just incredibly valuable.

So that's recommendation number one.

Go find yourself a book, I'm going to walk over here and get out of the wind a little bit, go and find yourself a book written in your own language.

And uh, if you're just trying to learn it by absorbing it, by listening and reading, um, there's going to be little things that you would love to have explained to you.

So, find a book, buy it.

Uh, you should simply learn how to talk about the past, the present, and the future easily in English.

practice talking about the things you did yesterday, the thing you are doing right now and the things you are going to do tomorrow.

There are a ton of different verb conjugations.

But if you can easily talk about something you did yesterday, like yesterday I ate pizza, right now I'm eating pizza, tomorrow I'm going to eat pizza.

If you can talk fluently using the past, the present and the future tenses.

過去形、現在形、未来形を使って流暢に話すことができれば。

That's like 80% of what you need to know to have a good English conversation.

So maybe do a search for like the 10 most common English verbs and literally memorize how to use them with I.

Uh, in the past tense.

Uh, and in the future.

So those are the two things that I recommend.

I just think having a book that allows you uh to have uh your own language explained to you how the English grammar works is excellent.

And I think practicing and being ready to talk in the past, the present and the future uh is just awesome.
