Our journey takes us through winter in Brazil's largest city, through the hot desert of the middle east

and finally to Japan where where one surprise leaves us stranded on the road

and another leaves us with a questionable future.

今回は5日間の長い道のりです

We've flown internationally to Japan several times, so we know the routine.

飛行機の真下はすごいね

But this time our journey will take 5 days and end with a bang.

乗るよ！

Isn't that cool how we just get so close to it?

出だしからすごい状況です

Here we go!

見て！

We could tell by the way things got started that it would be quite a journey indeed.

火事じゃないよ

Look at that!

早速トラブルです

It's not on fire, it's just cool.

どうしたの？

But things didn't look good, and it turned out that it wasn't.

日本に帰れない？

So what's going on?

やった！ダメだ！

Are we not going to be able to go back to Japan?!

技術的な問題みたい

Yea! But no. But yea!

一度ゲートに戻る

There was a technical problem that showed up after we were all clear to go

大変

So we have to go back to the gate and await further instructions.

- 飛行機を降りる？ - 分からない

Oh my.

＜約1時間半後＞

Wait, so we need to get off the plane? I don't know.

遂に離陸

Almost an hour and a half later...

離陸します

We're finally going...

滑走路に出ました

We're finally going!

1時間半の遅れ

We're on the runway, it's been about an hour and half

大変！

One hour and a half late!

次の便がある

Late! Delays, ahh!

お昼ご飯も食べないと

And we have a flight to catch.

大丈夫

And we still have a flight to catch, and we need to eat lunch

お腹空いた

We haven't eaten yet.

Yea, that probably won't happen.

The little point between the Amazon River and the *Tapajos River

上空からアマゾン 最後の眺めを楽しみます

We went up and down that a couple times too.

ブラジリアでの乗り継ぎは 30分しかありません

On our last episode, we documented our whole summer in Brazil,

時間がありません

and on that trip we went up this part of the Amazon River a couple of times by boat.

It was an adventure like no other, one that we'll remember fondly.

ジョシュアとダニエルが寝た

Now, we're enjoying our last views of the Amazon from high above.

Over two hours later, we were descending to Brasilia and only had 30 minutes to get to our next flight.

熟睡だね

Things would be tight.

次の便に急いで乗り換えます

What's going on Sarah?

お昼ご飯も必要です

Joshua and Daniel all of a sudden got out (slept).

アナ どうした？

Joshua lays on Daniel, and Daniel lays on the wall.

マクドナルド？

They are out out out.

そうだね！時間ある？

We hurried on over to our next gate only to find it was already boarding,

たぶん！

but near it was something that would save our lunch.

早食いです！

Anna, what's going on here?

頑張れ！

Getting McDonalds?

セネ・ファミリーです

We're getting McDonalds! Do you think we have enough time?

低緯度のサンパウロは冬です

I just prayed so yes!

常夏のアマゾンとは対照的です

This is what you call a mega-fast bite to eat!

Here comes the Sene crew.

どうした？

Since São Paulo is far south of the equator, they are experiencing winter right now,

空がすごい

which after a month of the heat of the Amazon doesn't sound too bad.

日本への便に乗る前に ルースの妹宅に寄ります

Right now it's so bright in here.

What's up, the sky is up.

男子です

The sky is up?! Is that what's up?

街の真ん中に位置する空港です

We're going to stay at Ruth's sister's house with their family before catching our international flights back to Japan.

サンパウロ・コンゴーニャス空港は 滑走路が短い空港です

We are already preparing ourselves mentally for the long trip back.

荷物を取り Uberでセネ・ファミリーの家に向かいます

This is one of the trickier landings there are right in the middle of the city.

São Paulo's Congonhas airport needs to limit the size of the airplanes that comes in because of the short length of the runaway and small gates.

ブルーノおじさんの家

A pilot needs to do his best when flying in and out of here,

ブルーノおじさんとベスおばさんの家？

so passengers are always relieved once the plane is safely down on the ground and up to the gate.

犬がいるよ！

We got our bags and found a couple of Uber car rides to the Sene's house where we would rest up before our big trip.

そうだね！見に行こう！

Where are we?

カワイイ！

At uncle Bruno's house.

ゾーイ？

At uncle Bruno's and Aunt Beth's? Wow!

落ち着いて ゾーイ！

They have a dog at their house!

ベスとブルーノの家に泊まります

They have a dog, oh, let's go see!

その後 日本に帰ります

Isn't she so cute?!

最後の家族での時間です

Oh my goodness, is that Zoe!?

Calm down, Zoe, calm down!

We get to stay a couple of days with Beth and Bruno here,

夕食！美味しそう！

And then we're going to head back to Japan

サンパウロは冬真っ只中 家の中で過ごします

But before we do, we get to enjoy a little time with family here.

Oh dinner! Oh look at this, it looks so good!

飛行機ではできないね

With our little bit of time in the cold of São Paulo's winter, the cousins enjoyed some time together indoors.

ブルーノのブラジル流お見送りです

Somebody said the floor is hot.

日本を出発した時は寿司を食べました

We took a stroll through the neighborhood and looked for things to do that would help keep us warm.

ブラジル出発の前はシュラスコを食べます！

What is everyone doing here? They're all working out.

すごい！

That's right, work out before we get on the plane.

Then Bruno prepared to send us off in good Brazilian fashion.

Our tradition before leaving Japan is to have some sushi.

Well in Brazil, Bruno is sending us off the right way... with churrasco (Brazilian BBQ)

Quite the tree there. A lot of people fit into it at once.

Soon we'll be back in the heat of the Japanese summer, so we're enjoying these last moments in the cold.

It's the best soup ever.

Chicken Noodle Soup is pretty much the best soup ever.

It's the last moments before we leave, the kids are playing some video games

And we're about to get into our cars, go to the airport

And then grab two super long flights back to Japan.

午前3時の便なので みんなすぐ寝れそうです

What a fun time we had with all of you.

みんな疲れていたので アフリカ上空まで熟睡しました

ドーハに着きます

サンパウロからドーハ 長いフライトでした

We said our goodbyes and then headed to Guarulhos, São Paulo's bigger, international airport.

着陸します

Our flight would leave at 3 in the morning, and everyone was tired and ready to sleep.

空港は海沿いです

Everyone was emotionally and physically spent, so we ended up sleeping most of the first flight, only waking up again once we were over Africa.

無事に着陸しますように

Coming into Doha.

何時に出発した

There's are long long trip from São Paulo to Doha, just about completed now.

午前2時

We're going to land.

午前2時に出て

The airport is right on the coast.

午後11時に到着

Good landing please

15時間のフライト

So girls, we left at— what time was it?

夜の砂漠は36℃

2 AM

乗り継ぎで歩いた後 最後の便に搭乗します

It was like 2 in the morning

最後の離陸

And arrived at 11 PM

どうだい？

And flew for 15 hours.

ドバイ上空です

And the desert at night is 36 C

With a lot of walking and a little layover, we were on the next plane and ready to go.

Well Dude, here goes our last takeoff.

疲労もピークで 最後の便は時間が短く感じました

日本近海で目覚めました

Look, you can see the tallest building in the world, the Burn Khalifa.

家が楽しみです

It kind of looks like a Christmas tree. Do you see it down there Becca?

入国手続きと 車での帰路が待っています

Who knew we were going to see that tonight? That is cool.

時差ボケも辛いです

The last leg of the journey turned out to feel the shortest, because everyone was so tired they slept most of the way.

これからまた夜です

Only once we were near Japan did we wake up again.

日本に帰ってきたよ！

Everyone was really looking forward to getting home,

どうだった？

but to do that we would have to clear the entry process, go through customs, get to our car and drive home.

サラはずっと寝てたわ

Our bodies were so confused at what time it was,

サラ 良かったね！

because the nights on the plane were so short, and soon it would become night in Japan as well.

ジョシュアもほとんど寝てた

We just landed it in Japan Dude! Oh, finally!

この数時間後 高速道路で 思わぬハプニングに見舞われます

How did that all go there?

もうすぐ家です

Fine. Smooth. Sarah slept the entire flight.

2便乗り継ぎました

Wow Sarah, good job honey!

良いフライトでした

I think Joshua slept most of the flight too.

ヒマラヤの上空を飛行中…

A few hours later, we were on the road,

＜破裂音＞

heading back home on a trip that was to be much longer than anticipated.

何？

We're are heading home finally.

分からない

There was two epic long flights

パンク

But the way back was really cool.

本当？パンク？

As we flew over the Himalaya mountains

話していたら 変な音がしました

[strange noise]

タイヤがパンクしたと思ったら

What happened Nate?

エンジンの問題のようです

I don't know.

エンジンベルトの故障です

Flat tire.

警告灯も点いています

Is it? Maybe we have a flat tire.

千葉の道路脇で立ち往生

I was literally talking on camera and we had a funny sound happen in the car

レッカー車をお願いしました

We thought we had a flat tire, so I pulled over

安全な場所へ牽引してもらいます

It wasn't a flat tire, we open the hood

ベンに迎えに来てもらいます

And I could see a belt going around and it was frayed.

すごい旅

And then the belt broke and some of the warning lights came on

- だろ？ - 予想外すぎる

So we are stuck on the side of the road here in Chiba, it's hot...

レッカー車が来た

We had to call and get a wrecker (tow truck) but it was hard to hear and remember our Japanese

後ろに警察 前にはレッカー車

So they're supposed to be coming, they're going to tow us to a safe place

1万人の警察官が来そう！

Where then we have the wonderful Ben Block coming to pick us up with all of our stuff and take us home.

車内に居ていいって

Wow, what an end to this trip.

レッカー車に牽引されるのは初めて

Huh guys? Not expected.

僕も

OK, the wrecker has made it.

後ろに警察官

The police are behind us and the wrecker is in front of us.

警察官

It feels like there's 10,000 police.

こんな計画じゃなかったけど

Well, we're up on it, and he said just wait here, right?

- 神様 助けてくれてありがとう！ - こんな体験ってすごい！

Well, we stay in the car to get towed, and that's my first experience with that.

救いの騎士だ！

Yea, me too.

1時間かけて迎えに来てくれました

Here we go guys, the cops behind us...

This is not how I saw today ending, but you know...

Praise the Lord for roadside assistance. This is like one of the best things ever.

家でも更なる衝撃がありました

Came with his van to pick us up an hour from home.

遂に帰宅！

Ben saved us in a big way,

but getting home we had a discovery that was an even bigger shock yet…

Just over there, Mt Fuji.

綺麗なバラも

Ah, we are back home finally!

バーン！

Can I tell the bad news?

お引越し！

What's the bad news?

They cut all of the... No! I'm telling it!

I went into the back yard, and all the trees were [knocked over] on the ground.

Even our pretty rose tree.

Bam, on the ground.

That means we're going to MOVE!
