JACOB SOBOROFF: Hey.
It's Jacob.
We're here every day to bring you
guys the best videos around.
Today we got a message from Banksy, a giant tornado,
and the flyest dog ever.
[THEME MUSIC]
-Gangnam style.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Guys, we are going to kick things off
with a celebration today.
In honor of their ninth birthday,
YouTube threw a karaoke mashup party.
The Gregory Brothers, Cimorelli, Chester See, Alex G,
Mystery Guitar Man, Steve Kardynal,
the people at this party have a combined 20 million
subscribers.
[MUSIC - REBECCA BLACK, "FRIDAY"]
[MUSIC - ANTOINE DODSON, "THE BED INTRUDER SONG"]
JACOB SOBOROFF: Check it out to relive some classic YouTube
cuts and maybe expose yourself to some new voices.
Now this next video has got some rough language,
but I think you might give these guys a break when you see why.
These two oil workers in North Dakota hid in their truck
as they watch this tornado hit their base camp.
-Dude, where do we go?
We've got nowhere to go.
Go to the truck.
Kevin was [BLEEP] running.
-Oh.
-Holy [BLEEP].
It's heading right for us.
-I know.
JACOB SOBOROFF: This has got almost a million and a half
views since Monday.
Nine people were injured.
A dozen trailers were damaged or destroyed.
Honestly, it's really lucky things didn't get worse.
ALEX: Well guys, it looks like base jumping's
going to the dogs.
Yes.
National Geographic's new video showcases adventurer Dean
Potter and his co-pilot Whisper, the dog,
as they climb, zip line, and fly through the air.
[MUSIC]
ALEX: Potter's confident about Whisper's safety.
Her harnesses are rated on the same standards
as human harnesses, and look at those cute little googles.
I'm torn because this is obviously super awesome,
but is there any way the dog is actually OK with this?
What do you guys think?
JACOB SOBOROFF: Banksy was named Person
of the Year at the Webby Awards last week.
And rather than accept the award in person
he chose to maintain his anonymity, shockingly.
This was the video he submitted in lieu
of making an appearance, as he was honored for his first month
long residency on the streets of New York last October.
-On day 13 in Central Park, the artist
set up a stall selling original paintings
with a street value of half a million dollars.
But without any of the art world hype, the results,
a total take of $420.
JACOB SOBOROFF: If you guys haven't
seen all of the amazing videos he created
during his pop-up exhibition, we have a link for you
in the description.
CARLY: New roommates can be tough,
like hyena laughing, anti-social gamers who
clutter your kitchen with their dirty dishes.
You know who you are.
Which is why Scott Rogowsky's approach to finding a good one
is completely brilliant.
Scott hosts a late night talk show
at the Pitt Theatre in New York.
So when he needed a roommate, he decide to interview candidates
the only way he knew how.
-My first guest is a Quality Assurance Manager
at an e-commerce company in Sunset Park.
Anam Mughal.
Anam Mughal.
Welcome to Apartment 3R.
-OK.
This is different.
-This is the place.
CARLY: This was just released.
It features Michael Gregory, Andrew W.K.,
and Gilbert Gottfried.
And it only has 1,100 views.
People, do you want a terrible roommate?
Go watch this and prepare yourselves.
JACOB SOBOROFF: Listen, my wife is in the fashion industry,
so I know that lookbooks are a great way
to find that perfect floral romper that we have all
been dreaming about.
But what if you want that romper to have a license to kill?
James Bond is the subject of Whitney Milam's most
recent video.
It's part of her Book Look series
where she puts a literary twist on the latest trends.
[SPY MUSIC]
JACOB SOBOROFF: So far, her styles
has been inspired by everything from "Divergent"
to "Harry Potter."
There is a wide, wide, world of lookbooks
out there, so we got a great playlist for you
after the show.
BEN: Today, I want to take you back to 2006.
I was executive producer at a little place
called stupidvideos.com.
And this is a video I made on my lunch break.
And it really does show sometimes
the best things come through when
you don't think it through too much.
-Do you get out much?
-I'm Fluffy.
I really don't get out too much, you know?
-You should.
It would do wonders for your muscles, you know,
your shoulders, and working your buttocks, you know?
-Hey, I'm not really comfortable with you pawing around
down there.
BEN: It was picked up by a bunch of different outlets.
It made it even onto Ellen DeGeneres.
If I'm having a bad day, I can go and read the comments
on this video and really see how much
it brightened people's day.
That video that you're thinking of making, go ahead and do it,
don't think it through, and give somebody a laugh.
It's certainly the best simple gift you can give anyone.
JACOB SOBOROFF: What videos make you guys nostalgic?
Do me a favor, drop a link in the comments
and use the hashtag #ThrowbackThursday.
Oh, also this Saturday, our show is
focused on bringing you the most unbelievable real animals
that you have never heard of, like this.
-It's a red-lipped batfish.
JACOB SOBOROFF: If you've got a video with a weirder animal
than that, post it below.
Now play us out, Toby Goodshank.
[MUSIC - TOBY GOODSHANK, "INTERNET"]
