  • (upbeat music)

  • - Hello everyone.

  • And welcome back to English With Lucy.

  • Let's take a look

  • at this word, epiphany.

  • It's a particularly beautiful word

  • and it holds a lot of meaning for me.

  • As defined by Cambridge English dictionary,

  • it is a moment when you suddenly feel

  • that you understand something that is very important to you.

  • I want you to have an epiphany

  • when it comes to your English.

  • Now, let's look at the pronunciation.

  • Epiphany, epiphany,

  • you might have seen in my pronunciation videos

  • that I use these weird letters.

  • These are phonetic transcriptions.

  • They are incredibly useful,

  • if you know how to read and understand them,

  • and they are incredibly useless,

  • if you don't know how to use them.

  • I have created something big, something important.

  • To me, it's the most valuable work

  • that I've ever carried out

  • throughout my career as a teacher.

  • It has taken me two years of hard work.

  • I have built a language platform.

  • It's called a Epiphany Language Studios, and it's ready.

  • I can now announce

  • that the first course is waiting for you on the platform,

  • and it is the most highly requested

  • and anticipated topic in the history of my YouTube channel.

  • Never have I received so many requests

  • for one specific topic,

  • British English pronunciation.

  • I need to be very specific here.

  • There are so many varieties of British English,

  • and none of them are superior.

  • In this course,

  • I will teach you pronunciation based on the way I speak,

  • modern received pronunciation.

  • I will teach you to sound natural

  • when speaking English.

  • You will learn to speak clearly

  • and you'll feel more confident and fluent

  • when you speak.

  • We'll go through every sound

  • in modern received pronunciation in detail,

  • focusing on mouth shape and tongue position.

  • Lift your tongue so that the tip makes gentle contact

  • with the underneath of your upper front teeth.

  • I'll be right there with you,

  • leaving you time and space,

  • to copy and imitate my sounds and movements.

  • All the vowel sounds,

  • all of the consonant sounds,

  • you'll master them all,

  • you will leave the course

  • with the ability to understand

  • any phonetic transcription that you might find

  • in a British English dictionary.

  • That means that you'll be able to look at any word

  • and immediately know how to pronounce it.

  • We will also analyse connected speech,

  • how to link your words together

  • and make your sentences flow.

  • I'll show you where to emit

  • or to leave out certain sounds or syllables.

  • We'll look at rhythm, intonation,

  • word stress, syllable stress.

  • We will of course, take a good look

  • at notoriously difficult sounds,

  • like the glottal stop, the linking R and the dark L.

  • I wanted to ensure

  • that I'm providing you, my students,

  • with an outstanding pronunciation course.

  • So I hired two lecturers in linguistics

  • from prestigious English universities,

  • to fact check and confirm the course.

  • They went through every script that I created,

  • every video in the course,

  • every single part of the course,

  • to fact check it and confirm it all.

  • I am so excited and proud to share this with you all.

  • I've been making lessons on YouTube for five years

  • and I always had the goal of creating a course,

  • but, I wanted it to be the best course possible.

  • I am so excited to welcome you

  • through the doors of Epiphany Language Studios,

  • so that you can learn pronunciation with me.

  • Go to EpiphanyLanguageStudios.com,

  • or click on the link in the description box.

  • I will see you on my language platform.
