But today on BWB I'm gonna be teaching you guys how to gossip in English.

今日は、英語でのゴシップの仕方を、皆さんに教えます。

So you can be Gossip Queens just like Becky!

あなたもベッキーみたいに、ゴシップ・クイーンになれちゃう！

"To blab" means "to gossip."

"To blab"というのは"to gossip"（うわさ話をする）という意味です。

To reveal someone's secrets, perhaps in a careless way, but we don't care.

もしかすると不注意に、誰かの秘密をばらしてしまうことですね。でも気にしない。

It's a verb like: "On this channel we blab."

動詞で、"On this channnel we blab."（このチャンネルでは、おしゃべりをします）のように使います。

But "to gossip" it means the same thing, but it's a verb, noun, and adjective, and I'm gonna show you how to use it in some cool ways.

"to gossip"というのは同じ意味ですが、動詞、名詞、形容詞です。イケてる使い方を、いくつか教えますよ。

For example, as a noun: "I am a gossip," yes, "I am a got a huge gossip!"

例えば名詞で、"I am a gossip"（私はおしゃべり）、そう、私は大のおしゃべりです。

And you know what? I don't really care about what all of you say about me on Twitter.

でも、ツイッターで言われているようなことなんて、そんなに気にしません。

Yeah I read your tweets, Ashley!

アシュリー、あなたのツイート読んでるよ！

But you know what? I don't care.

でもね、どうでも良い。

Only Doug can judge me.

私を評価できるのは、ダグだけ。

Doug's my boyfriend.

ダグは、私の彼氏。

Also, when I'm telling secrets, "I'm spreading gossip."

秘密を言う時には、"I'm spreading gossip"（うわさを広める）と言えます。

Remembering of course, that "gossip" is an uncountable noun, which means not "one gossip", "two gossips", "three gossips." No!

もちろん覚えておいてほしいのは、"gossip"は不可算名詞なので、"one gossip", "two gossips", "three gossips."とは数えられません！

You should say, "Some gossip."

"Some gossip"と言いましょう。

"I heard some gossip."

「うわさを聞いた。」

"Oh my god, I heard some gossip from Becky today."

「ちょっと、今日、ベッキーからうわさを聞いたんだけど。」

Becky is the best!

ベッキーって最高！

If you really want to count the gossip, then you can say, "a piece of gossip."

ゴシップを数えたいなら、"a piece of gossip"と言えます。

"I heard a piece of gossip."

「1つうわさを聞いた。」

And yes, you can use it also as an adjective: "Gossipy."

それから、形容詞としても使えます。"Gossipy"ですね。

Ew, I forgot, did you hear the gossip about Kim?

ああ、忘れてた。キムのゴシップ、聞いた？

Yeah, Kim who said that I was too gossipy.

そう、私のことをおしゃべりだって言ってたキム。

Yeah well, Kim smells her own farts.

キムって、自分のオナラのにおいを嗅ぐんだって。

I've seen it, it's disgusting

見たの。気持ち悪い。

And yes like a verb: "Gossiping."

そして、動詞です。"Gossiping"

"To gossip." "I gossiped."

「うわさ話をする。」「私はうわさ話をした。」

Okay, so here are some really cool expressions about gossip that you can use.

さて、gossipという単語に関する、すごくクールな表現があります。

Okay, when you want to ask for gossip say these things:

うわさ話を聞きたいときには、こんな風に言えます。

"Oh my god, give me the gossip."

"Oh my god, give me the gossip."（「ちょっと、うわさ話してよ。」）

Okay this is the kind of basic version, and it's fine, but there are better ones you can use like:

これは基本的なバージョンで、使えますが、もっと良い表現もあります。

"Oh my god, dish the dirt!"

"Oh my god, dish the dirt!"（ああ、うわさ話して！）

Okay, but that expression is a bit more British, I know, ew!

でもこの表現は、イギリス英語よりですね。分かってますよ！

But an American thing to say would be: "Oh, oh my god, spill!"

でもアメリカ英語では、"Oh, oh my god, spill!"（ちょっと、話してよ！）と言えます。

"Spill" from the expression "Spill the beans," but we just say "spill" because it's cuter.

"Spill"というのは、"Spill the beans"（秘密を漏らす）という表現から来ていますが、単に"spill"と言うだけの方がかわいいですね。

This is a fun expression you can use with your gossipy friends, but a better one would be:

ゴシップ友達と使える、楽しい表現ですね。もっと良い表現があります・

"Oh my god, you have gossip okay, I'm sitting down okay, lay it on me, I'm ready."

「え、うわさ話があるの？座るから。教えて。準備はできてるわ。」

"Lay it on me!"

「聞かせて！」

I like this one, this one's fun.

これ、好きですね。楽しい。

Okay, before we continue, "a rumor."

このまま続ける前に、"a rumor"（うわさ）という単語です。

A rumor is a story which is circulating.

広まっている話のことですね

There's no proof that it's true, and in fact, it kind of seems like it's not true.

本当だという証拠はありません。実際、本当ではないように思えるものです。

Although I will say I heard a rumor about Ashley.

アシュリーについてのうわさを聞いたの。

Yeah, she had surgery on her feet to make like her toes bigger, because she wants to be a foot model on the internet.

足の手術をして、足の指が大きくなるようにしたんだって。ネットで、足のモデルになりたいんだって。

Like, ew, I can't even with Ashley, she's so basic.

アシュリーとなんていられないわ、つまらなくて。

Cool! Okay, if you want to give gossip, then you can start using these expressions here:

良いですね！うわさ話を言いたい時には、こういった表現を使えますよ。

"Oh my god, I've got some gossip for you!"

「ちょっと、うわさ話があるんだけど！」

But that sounds basic, and you don't want to be basic, so use these expressions, they're a little better, a little cooler.

でもこれは普通な言い方です。普通がイヤなら、この表現を使いましょう。少しだけ良い、クールな表現です。

Our next expression is, "A little bird told me."

次は"A little bird told me."（「小耳に挟んだんだけど」）

Yeah, it's cute!

かわいいですね！

This expression is like you don't want to say exactly who told you the gossip, so that person remains anonymous, like-

この表現は、うわさ話を誰から聞いたのか言いたくない時に使えます。その人が匿名になりますからね。

Oh my god, Jacqueline stop calling me!

もう、ジャクリーン、電話してこないでよ！

Stop! I'm trying to make a video!

やめて！ビデオを作ってるの！

"Oh my god, stop!"

もう、止めて！

So, just remember -

だから、覚えておいて…

Jacqueline what?

ジャクリーン、何？

Stop bothering me!

邪魔しないで！

Go kiss your cousin again.

いとこにキスしておいで。

Yeah, okay, so a little bird told me that Jacqueline practices kissing with her cousin.

そう、小耳に挟んだんだけど、ジャクリーンって、いとことキスの練習をしているんだって。

She is so weird.

すごく変。

Our next expression is "I heard it through the grapevine."

次は、 "I heard it through the grapevine."（「人づてに聞いたんだけど」）

We usually use this expression when the gossip came from a certain group of people.

通常、この表現は、ある人たちのグループからうわさ話を聞いた時に使います。

For example: "Oh my god okay, a guy work with at Abercrombie, Jay..."

例えば、「聞いてよ、アバクロンビーで一緒に働いてる男の人のジェイが…」

Yeah I know I work at Abercrombie, I'm pretty I know.

そう、私、アバクロンビーで働いているんです。かわいいから。

But I heard through the Abercrombie grapevine that Jay is part of a cult.

アバクロンビーで人づてに聞いたんだけど、ジェイってカルトの一員なんだって。

They paint faces on eggs, and they pray to the eggs for, like, good weather or whatever.

卵に顔を描いて、その卵に向かって祈るんだって…良い天気になりますように、とか。

It's like so sad.

なんか悲しい。

Our next expression is "Word on the street."

次の表現は、"Word on the street"（「ちまたの噂では」）

But this is a little bit old-fashioned, like, no one really says it anymore.

でもこの表現は少し古くて、もう誰も使っていないですね。

So just say, like, "Word is..."

単に、"Word is..."（…らしいよ）と言いましょう。

Okay so word is Jenny likes Rob, but she won't date Rob because of his forehead.

ジェニーはロブが好きなんだけど、ロブのおでこがイヤだから付き合わないんだって。

She said "His forehead is so big, it's more like a five-head."

「大きすぎるのよ、おでこじゃなくて、『おおでこ』よ」って。

Okay, but don't laugh; that's mean.

でも笑わないで、意地悪だから。

Those are her words, not mine.

ジェニーが言ったことで、私じゃないから。
