K-pop megastar BTS has offered its support to the Asian community by speaking out against anti-Asian hate crime.

K-Pop のメガスター、BTS が、アジア人ヘイトクライムに対して声を上げ、アジア人コミュニティへのサポートを表明しました。

On Tuesday, the band released a statement via Twitter saying it stands against racial discrimination, saying that you, I, and we all have the right to be respected.

火曜日、BTS はツイッターで声明を発表し、人種差別に立ち向かうこと、そしてあなたも自分も皆も、尊重される権利を持っているのだと述べました。

They also sent condolences to those who had lost loved ones in the recent Atlanta shootings, saying that they felt grief and anger.

また、先日のアトランタでの銃撃事件において、愛する人を失った方々に対するお悔やみを送り、悲しみと怒りを感じていると述べました。

Members of the group also recalled moments where they too had faced discrimination as Asians, saying they have been sworn at and were mocked for the way they look.

BTS is just one of many K-pop artists who are joining the stop Asian hate movement.

Korean American singer-songwriter, Eric Nam, who was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia wrote a powerful essay for Time magazine, calling for an end to anti-Asian racism.

韓国系アメリカ人のシンガーソングライター、エリック・ナムさんは、アトランタ州ジョージアで生まれ育ちました。タイム誌に力強いエッセイを送り、アジア系人種差別の撲滅を訴えています。

He said that Asians have been quote excluded interned, vilified, emasculated, fetishized, and murdered.

He added that the calls for help and the warning signs from the Asian community have felt ignored and pleaded for change.

Sandra Oh, an actress who was born in Canada to parents who emigrated from South Korea, also gave a passionate speech at an anti-Asian hate rally last week near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, saying that she is proud to be Asian.  

韓国から移住した両親の元に、カナダで生まれた女優のサンドラ・オーさんは、先週のペンシルベニア州ピッツバーグでの反アジアヘイト集会において、情熱のこもったスピーチを行い、自分はアジア人であることに誇りを持っている、と述べました。

As the movement against racial discrimination spreads across the globe, many are showing support to the Asian American community.

人種差別に反対する動きが世界中で広がる中、多くの人たちが、アジア系アメリカ人のコミュニティを支援しています。
