- 何も。ただ家にいたよ… - ゴー－ーーーーール！

Arghh, team supporters are always so noisy.

あぁ、サッカーのファンっていつもうるさいよな。

Uncomfortable, isn't it?

居心地悪いですよね？

This is another sentence you can use if you want to sound more polite:

これが、もっと失礼なく聞こえる言い方。

Tend to be a bit + adjective.

[ tend to be a bit ＋ 形容詞 ]（= ちょっと～な傾向がある/～しがちだ）

For example: Generally speaking, football fans tend to be a bit noisy when they are watching football.

例文：サッカーファンはたいてい、サッカーの観戦中にちょっとうるさくなりがちだ。

先週末は何したの？

Oh, I didn't do anything, I was at home and…

- 何も。ただ家にいたよ、それで…

Generally speaking, football fans tend to be a bit noisy when they're watching football.

けっこうサッカーファンって、サッカーの観戦中はちょっとうるさくなっちゃったりするよね。

Notice that the second time I used Generally Speaking and Tend to Be, to sound less offensive.

2 度目は "generally speaking" と "tend to be" を使った点にご注目。感じの悪さが軽減されています。

Do you like children?

子どもは好き？

Oh no, I don't like them at all.

あぁ、いや。全然好きじゃないな。

They're so spoiled and stubborn.

すごく甘やかされてるし、言うこと聞かないし。

Mum, I want to play.

ママ、遊びたい。

And the last sentence we're going to use is:

次に活用する表現は…

They can be + adjective + at times.

"They can be ＋ 形容詞 ＋ at times." (＝彼らはたまに～になりうる/～なことがある)

For example: Some children can be stubborn at times.

例文：子供たちの中には、たまに言うことを聞かない子もいる。

Do you like children?

子どもは好き？

Yes, I do like children, but they can be stubborn at times.

あぁ、好きだよ。ただ、たまに言うことを聞かないこともあるよね。

Notice that the second time I used children can be stubborn instead of saying that children are stubborn.

2 度目は "children are stubborn" ではなく、"children can be stubborn" という表現を使ったことにご注目ください。

This makes a big difference when expressing opinions.

自分の考えを言う時、これでずいぶん違う感じになりますよ。
