  • - Hi, Bob, the Canadian here.

  • Welcome to this English lesson

  • that's going to be a little bit different

  • than the other English lessons I do.

  • Stick around till the end

  • so you can see how you can participate.

  • In this English lesson, I want to ask you some questions

  • about the things you do when you're studying English.

  • I'm going to ask you five questions

  • and then I'm going to take your responses

  • and I'm going to compile them

  • and I'm going to show you how everyone answered

  • in another video later this week.

  • You can see behind me that I'm in front of a Tim Horton's.

  • Many Canadians every day go to Tim Horton's

  • to get a coffee and a donut and I want to ask you

  • about some of the things you do each day

  • and each week when you're learning English.

  • So here are the five questions.

  • Question number one:

  • How many vocabulary words do you think you learn each week?

  • So not each day, but when you look at a week,

  • how many vocabulary words do you think you learn

  • in one week?

  • If you learn 10 a day and you study English

  • for about five days, say 50.

  • So that's the first question.

  • The second question is this:

  • How many hours per week do you spend studying English?

  • So again, look at your week and kind of total up.

  • How many hours do I spend each week studying

  • the English language?

  • And please count everything.

  • If you listen to English music for a few hours a week,

  • if you read a book in English for a few hours a week,

  • add everything up and then at the end,

  • I'll tell you how you can let me know.

  • The third question is this:

  • Of the following four things, which is your favorite?

  • Do you like reading, writing, listening, or speaking better?

  • Which of those four things is your favorite thing to do

  • when you are studying English?

  • And then the fourth question is this:

  • Do you have an English speaking partner?

  • Do you have a person that you meet with each week

  • who helps you learn the English language?

  • Do you meet with someone via Skype or Zoom

  • or do you meet with someone in person?

  • Do you meet with a person each week

  • and does that person help you learn the English language?

  • And then the fifth question, and this is the last one

  • and then I'll give you the instructions.

  • The fifth question is this:

  • What is your goal for learning English

  • or why are you learning English?

  • Are you learning English for work?

  • Are you learning English

  • because your parents are making you learn English?

  • Are you learning English because it's just fun for you?

  • Or are you learning English

  • because you would like to travel someday?

  • So that's the fifth question.

  • Let me real quick repeat the questions.

  • Question one:

  • How many vocabulary words do you learn each week?

  • Question number two:

  • How many hours per week do you spend studying English?

  • Question number three: Which is your favorite: reading,

  • writing, listening, or speaking?

  • Question number four:

  • Do you have an English speaking partner?

  • And question number five:

  • More about why are you learning English

  • or what is your goal for learning English?

  • So here's how I would like you to answer the questions.

  • In the description below there is a link to a Google form.

  • Please click that link and answer all five questions.

  • I don't want your email address.

  • I don't want any personal information.

  • There will simply be five questions on that form.

  • Please follow the link and answer them.

  • I will take all of results

  • and I will make some nice graphs for all of us to see

  • and I will publish those graphs

  • in another video later this week.

  • So that's all you have to do. There's a link down there.

  • Please follow that link, fill out that form,

  • that would be awesome.

  • By the way, I might actually add a sixth question as well.

  • I might ask you about

  • how much you enjoy learning English grammar,

  • maybe on a scale of one to 10,

  • one being that you hate it and 10 being that you love it.

  • Anyways, Bob the Canadian here,

  • thank you so much for watching.

  • Please do follow that link and answer those questions

  • and I just hope you have a great day

  • and I hope you have a great week.
