I'm starting a new Siri's, which I'm going to update quite frequently on the YouTube channel.

Siri's is basically going to be about words which have different meanings.

But it's the same word in my example today I'm going to explain about the wordplay, so play P L.

This word can be used in many different contexts and mean many different things.

この言葉は様々な文脈で使われ、様々な意味を持っています。

So when I would say I'm going to play football tomorrow, that basically means I'm going to be taking part.

Andi play a game or football.

アンディはゲームやサッカーをする。

That's just the way we say it, saying for any sport similar way, which kind of relates to this is when we play in the playground.

In school, for example, kids play in the playground at lunchtime when they have a break from lessons.

We would say that they are playing in the playground, meaning they're doing all kinds of different games.

Maybe some of them are playing football or tennis or anything, so to play can be a recreational activity, something which we take part in.

We can play something Onda that is essentially what that way of saying Play is a swell is playing sports or playing in the playground.

You could also play on a PlayStation play on a computer game that's playing.

So, for example, I I play guitar.

If you play a musical instrument, If you know how to use a guitar or the drums or violin, you can say I play the guitar.

Now I have another question for you.

Have you ever taken part in a school play?

学校の劇に参加したことはありますか？

This is completely different to the way that I was explaining the word play earlier.

先ほどの言葉遊びの説明の仕方とは全く違います。

So how this is different is that when we take part in a play, a play is like a theater performance or when we act as another character on, we create a story with acting.

だから、これがどう違うのかというと、演劇に参加したときに、演劇は演劇のパフォーマンスのようなもので、別のキャラクターを演じるときに、演技で物語を作っていくということです。

Some people might say, I'm going to the theater.

劇場に行く」という人もいるかもしれません。

Some people might say I'm going to see a play.

お芝居を見に行くと言う人もいるかもしれません。

When I was in school, I did drama lessons and I would take part in the school play every year.

学生時代はドラマの授業をしていて、毎年のように学校の劇に参加していました。

I really enjoy doing it, and I played different characters, meaning I acted I performed as different characters.

それをやるのが本当に楽しくて、違うキャラクターを演じるという意味で、違うキャラクターを演じました。

I have one more for you and this is a slang term.

もう一つあるんですが、これは俗語です。

This is something which you wouldn't say to.

これは、あなたが言わないようなことです。

For example, you wouldn't say this in an interview or in a formal situation.

例えば、面接やフォーマルな場では言わないでしょう。

It's more something you would say with your friends on.

それはあなたが友達と一緒に言うようなものです。

That is, Are you playing with me or stop playing with me?

つまり、私と遊んでいるのか、私と遊ぶのをやめているのか。

Let's say somebody was.

誰かがそうだったとしよう。

You thought somebody was joking around.

誰かがふざけていると思ったのか

They were joking about something and they were kind of teasing you or kind of doing something that didn't seem quite right.

何かと冗談を言っていて、からかわれていたり、何か違和感のあることをしていました。

You would say, Are you playing with me?

とか言ってくるだろうし、遊んでいるのか？

And it basically means, Are you messing with me?

基本的には「俺をからかってるのか？

Are you joking around?

ふざけているのか？

Are you serious?

本気で言ってるのか？

That kind of thing?

そういうこと？

Eso We would say this with our friends or, you know somebody close to us.

江曽 友達や親しい人と一緒に言うんですよ。

Those are the different ways of saying the word play.

それらは、言葉の遊びの言い方の違いです。

You have the entertainment style of play.

娯楽的な遊び方をしていますね。

Something we play is something we do for entertainment.

遊ぶものは娯楽のためにやるものです。

We can also play a musical instrument.

楽器を演奏することもできます。

We can play in the playground with our friends.

お友だちと一緒に園庭で遊べます。

If we're younger, I wouldn't be doing that now.

もっと若かったら、今更そんなことしてないよ。

I'm a bit too old to be playing in the playground.

遊び場で遊ぶにはちょっと年齢的に無理がありますね。

Oh, and Also, we can play in a play which is a theater performance acting for people.

あ、あと、人のために演技をする演劇のパフォーマンスである演劇にも出演できます。

We play a character on DFO.

DFOでキャラをプレイしています。

Finally, we can play with someone we can joke with someone we can play with them or ask them, Are you playing with me?

最後に、私たちは誰かと一緒に遊ぶことができます......誰かと冗談を言ったり、「私と一緒に遊んでいるの？

So that's all of the different ways of saying the word play.
