My first boyfriend is Nicolas.

1 人目の彼氏は、ニコラス。

He's a total bad boy and I love it.

彼はすごく悪い男なんだけど、大好きです。

He's got tattos all over his body.

体中にタトゥーが入っています。

He's incredibly charming and he's a real ladies man.

すごく魅力的で、女好き。

Even when we're out together holding hands, he'll still flirt with other girls.

私たちが一緒にいて、手をつないでいる時でさえ、他の女の子をナンパします。

But I don't mind.

でも、気にしません。

I mean, even though he sees other girls, he is always paying me compliments and telling me I'm the most beautiful girl in the world.

他の女の子のことに目を向けたって、彼は私をいつも褒めてくれて、私が世界一きれいだって言ってくれます。

Last weekend, he took me to an Ed Sheeran concert.

先週末には、エド・シーランのコンサートに連れて行ってくれたんですよ。

And now we're planning to fly to Costa Rica next summer.

今は、来年の夏にコスタリカへ旅行に行く計画を立てています。

I can't wait.

楽しみです。

We're going to go jet skiing and diving and it's going to be amazing.

ジェットスキーやダイビングして、楽しい旅行になるでしょう。

Of course some girls would get upset about him dating other girls but he's always made it clear that we are only together to have fun.

もちろん、彼が他の女の子とデートすることについて、気分を害する女の子もいます。でも、私たちは楽しむためだけに一緒にいるんだと、彼はハッキリ言ってくれています。

And trust me, we have a lot of fun.

それに、私たち、楽しいことを沢山しているんですよ。

He's not perfect though.

でも、彼は完璧ではありません。

I guess if he was I wouldn't need to date a second guy.

だって彼が完璧だったら、2 人目の彼氏なんて必要ないでしょう。

Because he can be really immature at times.

彼は、時々すごく未熟です。

Like, one day he would send me a text about how much he's thinking about me and then he will suddenly disappear for two weeks without a word.

ある日、私のことをどれだけ思っているかメールを送ってきておきながら、その後 2 週間、何の連絡もしてこずに、突然姿を消してしまいました。

Nicolas can be frustrating but there's something about him which keeps me coming back for more.

ニコラスにはうんざりさせられることもあるけれど、彼には、また戻ってこさせる魅力があるんです。

I mean he's so damn attractive!

ものすごく格好良いですから！

But I'll admit that someday, I need someone more reliable in my life, which is why i'm also dating my other boyfriend, Bernd.

でもいつか、人生において、もっと信頼できる人が必要になるのは分かっています。だから、もう1人の彼氏、バークと付き合っています。

He's one of the sweetest, kindest people you'll ever meet.

彼ほど、最高に素敵で親切な人は、そういませんよ。

He's always asking me how I am and making little gestures to let me know he's thinking of me.

私の気分をいつも聞いてくれて、私のことを考えてくれている証に、ちょっとしたジェスチャーをしてくれます。

Like, sending me flowers when we haven't seen each other for a few days.

数日間会っていなかったら、花を送ってくれたり。

While Nicolas is a real bad boy Bernd is the opposite.

ニコラスは本当にワルだけど、バークはその逆です。

He's nothing but nice.

彼、本当に素敵なんです。

He's top of his class and he's going to be a lawyer after he graduates.

成績はクラスで一番で、卒業後には弁護士になるつもりでいます。

He does volunteer work in his spare time and he's thinking about joining the Peace Corps for a few years before he starts practicing law.

余暇にはボランティアをして、弁護士として働く前に、何年か平和部隊に加わろうと考えています。

He's just a thoroughly decent human being.

根本的に、良い人なんです。

Sounds like the perfect man, right?

完璧な人でしょう？

Well,that's the problem.

でも、それが問題なんです。

He's so perfect, it's boring.

あまりに完璧で、つまらないんです。

He's so worried about saying the right thing, he never relaxes and lets loose.

正しいことを言おうといつも気にかけていて、リラックスしたり、自由になったりすることがありません。

Like,when we go out for dinner he gets annoyed if i laugh too loud because he's all about fitting in and not making a fuss.

ディナーに出かけて、私の笑い声が大きすぎると、機嫌を損ねてしまいます。彼は、周りに溶け込んで、問題を起こさないことを一番に考えているからです。

I can't remember the last time we went to a party together.

一緒にパーティーに行ったのなんて、いつだったかしら。

Nicolas is the total opposite.

ニコラスは、その真逆です。

He's always joking around saying dumb things to make me laugh.

いつも冗談やバカげたことを言って、私を笑わせてくれます。

He doesn't care what other people think.

他人がどう思うかなんて、気にしません。

He just wants to have fun.

ただ、楽しみたいだけなのです。

Don't get me wrong.

でも、勘違いしないでくださいね。

Bernd has his moments but only when he's drunk and he doesn't drink that often.

バークにも、面白い時はあります。でも、それはお酒に酔った時だけで、彼は頻繁には飲みません。

There was one time when we went to a restaurant with a live band for my birthday.

私の誕生日に、バンドが生演奏するレストランに行ったことがありました。

I made him drink wine with me to celebrate because he's not used to alcohol, he got so drunk that he went on stage and tried to sing with a band.

お祝いに、彼にワインを飲んでもらったんです。

It was so funny.

Even though we got kicked out of the restaurant.

レストランからは追い出されてしまったけれど。

I had a great time, but when Bernd was sober the next day, he said he was really ashamed and swore it would never happen again.

私はすごく楽しんだけれど、翌日、バークの酔いが覚めた時、彼はすごく恥ずかしがって、もうあんなことはしない、と誓ったんです。

When I told him it was fine and he should relax, he said he didn't want to embarrass himself again.

大丈夫だからリラックスしてよ、と私が言っても、彼は「恥ずかしい目に遭いたくない」と答えました。

It's a real shame because if Bernd wasn't so uptight, maybe I'd ditch Nicolas and just date Bernd.

バークがこんなに神経質でなければ、ニコラスとは別れて、バークだけと付き合うのに…だから、すごく残念です。

I mean, I really do care about him but I want someone who knows how to have fun as well to show their softer side.

バークのことは本当に好きだけど、楽しみ方を知っている人、穏やかな一面を見せてくれる人が良いんです。

Dating both guys means I get to spend time with someone who's fun and with someone who's caring.

2 人と付き合うことで、楽しい人とも、気遣いのできる人とも、時間を共に過ごせます。

And it's not like I'm hurting anyone.

誰かを傷つけているわけでもありません。

Bernd knows about Nicolas and although he'd rather be exclusive, he'd never stop me from seeing him because he wants me to be happy.

バークはニコラスのことを知っています。バークは、私にとって特別な存在になりたいと思ってはいるけれど、私の幸せを考えてくれるので、ニコラスに会うのを止めることはありません。

I've decided that if I hit 36 and I still haven't found that one man who has it all, then I'll settle down with someone like Bernd.

36 歳になって、全てを持ち合わせた人を見つけられていなかったら、バークみたいな人と落ち着こうかな、と思っています。

At least he's kind and caring and I know he'll would be a good dad.

少なくとも、彼は親切で気遣いができて、良い父親になると思いますから。
