Someone told me we've actually met before. Have you two met? No, I don't think so. No, we've never met. I'm a fan. I don't know if we technically met, but I remember 12, 13 years ago when I was just starting auditioning, I remember being in a waiting room with a bunch of actors and you coming in. And I remember this because one of the actors was like, Whitney Cummings. And you knew the actor, and then you knew another actor. And everyone knew you. And then the casting director came out. Whitney Cummings. You sure you weren't at my house? [LAUGHTER] No. And I was like, she's going to get the part. I didn't, whatever it is. [LAUGHTER] What was your worst audition besides having to watch me fake nice to people? So I had to-- there was one time I had a really big audition with a huge casting director. It was for a TV show. And in the scene, my character's running up these stairs. He's drenched in sweat. And he delivers this monologue. And I remember sitting in the waiting room, and I was so nervous. And I see this water cooler there, and I'm thinking-- with little cups. And I'm like, what if I bring water with me and pour it on my head so I'll be drenched in sweat? And then I'll do my-- it'll be like a show. So I go up to the office. And I'm-- the casting director is just as far as you're away from me with a desk in between. And he's like, are you ready to go? And I'm like, yeah, but give me one second. Oh. Yeah, you did. Yeah, you did. And I go like that and I open my eyes, and there's water all over him. [GASP] No. Yeah. And all-- and I look at his desk and the papers are covered in water. It had bounced off of my face-- What did he do? --all over the casting director. And he just-- he's just standing there with water. And I start the scene, and I stumble through it. I'm so nervous because I'm like, oh, no, he's so mad at me. And when I finish the scene, he doesn't say anything. He's just like [BLANK EXPRESSION].. And I'm-- I just walk out. Oh. Because it's probably also the sixth actor that did that that day. I know. He's just like, oh, god, I just need to waterproof all my documents at this point. You know what always makes bad auditions better for me? Goats. I love goats. Oh. Whenever I see a goat, I take a photo with a goat. Just whenever. Whenever. Just there's a goat. You're there. Backstage many photos. Did you take it with the butt? With the butt. I'm sorry. I have a question for both of you. Why? Goats are-- they're magical. Because they're so magical. And they make funny noises. Make funny noises. We're comedians. They're funny. And they do have random goatees. They do look like every guy on Tinder for no reason. They have odd facial hair. They do. Yes. Don't they? Yes. Yes. And then where do you find these goats? I mean, the little-- I take my daughter to the petting zoo. Farmers markets. Yeah. And so you have a daughter. Have a daughter. And you've been married for how long? We just had our 10 year anniversary. Wow. Unreal. [APPLAUSE] Wow. Yay. That's my wife. This is-- I'm absolutely taking advantage of the fact that I'm hosting the show just to ask you what would-- do you have any marriage advice? I just got engaged. Yeah, you did. Oh, you did. What's your secret? Congratulations. Thank you. Thank you. We'll see. [LAUGHTER] We'll see. But 10 years is a crazy amount of time. Do you have a secret? Is there a life hack? I think a lot of people say communication, honesty, just putting in that work. And I think all that is true. Communication with each other? But that's my wife, Jae. Oh. Oh, gosh. Gorgeous. She's so beautiful. Well, that helps. She looks like that. Absolutely. OK. You left that out. But I think ultimately, it's like you've got to-- you've just got to choose the right one. It starts at the beginning. Make sure that person-- be picky. Gorgeous. Don't settle. Don't ever settle. Just make sure you're with-- that person is your best friend and you love that person. And that you all love K-pop. Am I right? And BTS. BTS helps. Yes. Oh, yeah. I hear that you are a huge K-pop fan, and we have a picture, I believe, of you at one of the shows. Oh, yeah. I went to the show at the Rose Bowl-- Did you get-- --and they performed. --something in your eye? That's me at the show? I was crying. I am not ashamed of it. You were moved by them. I was super moved by them because, you know, I was not a fan going into that show. My wife was a huge fan. And I get there. The Rose Bowl-- 90,000 people packed. Wild. All different races, all different ages singing along to these Korean musicians and dancers. And it was just really like, oh, my gosh. As a kid, I could never imagine something like that happening. And it was just-- I was-- I cried. Oh, come on. Yeah. Yeah, I got the dolls. Wait, those are your dolls, not your daughter's. No. Those are not-- Those are your dolls? Those are not my daughter's nor my wife's. Those are mine. So where do we keep-- [LAUGHTER] Where do we keep the dolls? They are on a shelf in our living room. Where, though? Oh, OK. Oh, so everyone can see when they walk in. I'm not ashamed. I love them. You shouldn't be. I love them. That's usually what people who are ashamed say a lot. I'm not ashamed. [LAUGHTER] No, we're convinced. I got it. OK. I'm not ashamed. All right. I got it. All right. So you are now in your sixth season. Sixth season. Sixth season of Fresh Off the Boat. Sixth season of Fresh Off the Boat. Sixth season. How many shows can do six seasons? That is unheard of in television these days. It's amazing. I don't think-- yeah, I don't think a lot of people understand how hard it is to do that and how unbelievable. I mean, how long did Two Broke Girls go? Six seasons. Six seasons. High five. We got cancelled after six, though, so I can't promise anything for seven. We'll see what happens. But yeah-- Is it just surreal? It's so surreal. I mean, I remember that first season. It's hard to get a show on the air, let alone to keep going, and then we were the only Asian-American family on network TV at that time. That's awesome. And it had been 20 years before that before there was a family like that on TV. So we were always like, this is not going to go along. What are the chances? Yeah. And then it just-- it resonated with people and just kept going. You guys are amazing-- It is so charming. It is so funny. --and hilarious. It's a wonderful show.
