This is 2 minute classroom and today, I'm going to give you my top three last-minute study tips.

今日の「2分間クラス」では、ギリギリの場面での勉強のコツ、トップ3を教えます。

These are tips I've used and found great success with.

僕が実際にしてみて、すごく上手く行った方法です。

So, whether you're here because you didn't study but still want a good grade, or just want some last minute study tips to refresh what you've already learned.

勉強しなかったけれど、良い成績が欲しい？それとも、学んだことを思い出すために、直前に使える勉強のコツを知りたい？

Pay attention for the next few minutes because at least one of these tips will be new and very beneficial.

理由はどうあれ、これから数分間は注意して聞いていてくださいね。コツの1つは新しいもので、すごく役に立ちます。

Now, let's get into it.

では、始めましょう。

Tip Number one is to cram.

1つ目は、詰め込みです。

This may go against a lot of what you've heard and that's because cramming is not an effective study method for long term retention.

これは、皆さんが今まで聞いてきたことに反するかもしれません。詰め込みは、長期的に記憶するには効果的でないからです。

However, it can be very effective for tests and exams and this is how to make it effective.

でも、詰め込みは、テストや試験ですごく効果的になり得ます。そして、効果的にする方法がこちらです。

First, in the minutes before the test, you should be reading through all the most important material for the exam.

まず、テストの数分間前に、試験で一番重要な内容を読み通しましょう。

Writing it down and repeating it over and over in your head.

書き起こして、頭の中で何度も繰り返します。

This is the cramming portion.

これが、詰め込みです。

This step is a little easier if you've done some cramming the night before as well.

前夜に少し詰め込みをしておけば、このステップは少し楽になります。

At some point, while you're cramming, the teacher will indicate that the test is about to start and you should put everything away.

詰め込みをしている最中、ある時点で、「テストがもうすぐ始まるから、全て片付けるように」と先生が言います。

Do so, but continue to repeat the information in your head.

その指示に従いながらも、頭の中では情報を繰り返しておきましょう。

Then, as soon as the teacher says begin, you furiously begin writing down everything you've been repeating in your head.

そして、先生から「始め」の合図が出た途端、頭の中で繰り返し続けてきたことを、勢いよく、全て書き起こします。

Write it on the test itself or on some scratch paper.

テストそのものか、紙切れに書きましょう。

And this may be things like equations, specific dates, definitions, whatever.

方程式や、日付、定義など、何でも良いです。

Write it all down before you even look at the test.

テストを見る前に、全て書き起こします。

Now, you can start the test.

それから、テストを始めましょう。

This leads us to tip number two.

さて、2つ目のコツです。

Answer the easy questions first.

まず、簡単な問題から解きましょう。

Go through the whole test and answer the easy questions first.

テスト全体に目を通して、簡単な問題にまず解答します。

This is highly beneficial for two reasons.

これが非常に有利な理由は、2つあります。

First, it builds your confidence by giving you several small wins right off the bat and this confidence will carry through the test.

まず、テストを始めてすぐに、いくつか上手く解答できることにより、自信を持てます。この自信が、テストの間中続きます。

Second, it gives you a preview of everything on the test, so your brain can start working on some of the harder problems and this legitimately works.

それから、これがテスト全体のプレビューとなり、脳がより難しい問題を解けるようになります。これは本当に、上手く行くんですよ。

You know a lot more than you think you do, and if you give your brain a head start, it can find a lot of the answers you need.

あなたは、自分が思うよりも、ずっと多くのことを知っているんです。だから、さい先の良いスタートを切れば、脳は必要な答えをより多く見つけられます。

Tip number three is to review.

3つ目のコツは、見直すことです。

This was always the hardest part for me.

これは僕にとって、ずっと一番難しいポイントでした。

Once I finished a test, I wanted nothing more than to turn it in and be done with it.

テストを終えたら、もう提出して終わりにしたい、と思っていたんです。

However, every time I went back through, I always found questions I had answered incorrectly and it's usually little mistakes that are easy to fix.

でも、見直しをすると毎回、間違って解答した問題が見つかるんです。そして大抵の場合、それは簡単に直せる小さな間違いです。

These are just free points waiting to be found.

こういうのは、隠れたフリーポイントです。

One way to make the review process easier is to review each page once you have finished it.

見直しをより楽にする方法の1つは、1ページ終える毎に見直すことです。

This allows you to review in much smaller chunks, so it won't be so overwhelming at the end.

こうすることで、一度に見直す量がずっと少なくなり、最後に圧倒されなくなります。

During your review, you also want to make sure you've answered every question.

見直しの最中には、全ての問題に解答したかも確認しましょう。

This is like tip three point five. (Tip 3.5)

これは、コツの3.5個目みたいなものですね。

Answer every question, even if you have no idea.

分からなくても、全ての問題に答えましょう。

As Wayne Gretzky said, "You miss 100% of the questions you don't answer."

ウェイン・グレツキーが言ったように、「答えなかった問題は、100%間違い」となるのです。
