A lot of you probably know her voice if you've ever seen the Avengers, Iron Man.

これらは全部日本の番組ですが、

She is the dubbed voice of Black Widow in Japan,

最近、外出自粛などで大変なので、 絶対面白いタイトルを集めました。

but in Japan, recently, she's really known for this series.

後、私の場合、自分の日本語の勉強として使っているのもあり。ｗ

Doctor X is a freelance surgeon who is incredibly skilled,

but has to work in Japanese hospitals, which are incredibly bureaucratic,

ウェアー・アー・ユー・ゴイング？

and definitely not to her taste.

一番目のタイトルは：　ドクターX

It's basically a parody of Japanese hospitals and big corporations

正直いうと、この番組のサムネが ダサいから冗談でクリックしてみたのよ

and how she basically in the most polite but snarky way

けど、クリックして、見始めると

just says like, "I'm not gonna do it."

あまりにも面白くて驚きました！

If you watch Doctor X, you are going to learn how to be sassy in Japanese

米倉涼子が主役のドクターX・大門大門未知子で

politely.

アメリカでは、ブロードウェイやAVENGERSの日本語訳の声優と知られている。

—what we like to call in the business as the professional _ _ _ _ you.

でも日本では、むしろこのドクターXで 知られているようですね。

ストーリーを軽くまとめすると、ドクターXは

is exactly the price that we're going to go for.

とても優秀な外科医ですが、 フリーランスでやっていることがポイントですね。

I was not expecting a Japanese dramedy to teach me how to negotiate my contracts in Japanese.

まあ、日本の大型病院に勤めいているから

There are English subtitles available.

医療より、フリーランスと組織がぶつけ合うところを バカにしているストーリーです。

Usually, I like to watch with Japanese subtitles

大企業、大型組織などの弱点を大げさに紹介して

so that I can actually try to learn some of this feisty, sassy keigo.

大門未知子はオペ以外何も対応しないから 面白いのです。

The one thing about the Japanese in this show you need to be aware of

個人的に、おもてなしや丁寧な対応のためだけに使っている敬語なんて、

is that it is a parody.

はっきり否定するために利用できるなんて思わなかったのです。

One of the words they use all the time is "gyoi" (御意 - as you wish).

英語では、丁寧だけど絶対ノーの返事なんて、 "the professional f*ck you" というんですよ。

Gyoi!

契約の詳細はこちら！！と勤務条件をはっきりいうとか

Everyone in the hospital staff is just trying to brownnose their way up to the director,

こうやって、日本のコメディーを見て

so all of those lackeys are constantly like, "Gyoi." "Gyoi!"

強い契約の交渉の仕方を学ぶなんて思わなかったｗ

Doctor X is just prancing through all of this just like, "いたしません." ("I won't do it.")

日本のNETFLIXでも英語の字幕もついているので

In real life, using "gyoi" is basically saying like, "As you wish."

同じ内容の英語訳も勉強できるから 面白いかもしれません。

Like the guy in Princess Bride.

でもまあ、注意点は

It's definitely over the top, and you don't need to use it.

これは番組なので、極端的な言葉を 使っていることが確かです。

There are softer ways to say no.

一番当たりまえは毎回つかっている”ギョイ！”ですね

You would just be like, "検討します." ("I'll consider it.")

ドクターX以外のキャラクターは

"検討いたします." (more polite version)

医療業界で出世したいから、 何があっても、”ギョイ！”と必ずいう。

The humor, the way that they make fun of Japanese workplaces

それに対してドクターXが組織が嫌いから

all the time is just so hilarious,

それをみて、”いたしません”しか言わない謎の存在です。

especially Director Hiruma—the Director of the hospital

実際に、ギョイなんて使わないし

played by one of my favorite actors, Nishida Toshiyuki.

英語だと、As you wish,王様！と同じくらい変だけど、

He is so funny.

まあ、大げさです。

They're really milking the comedy on this one.

もっと一般的なノーのいい方は、 「検討します」とかでしょ？

If you're into fashion or just a good pair of legs,

とりあえず　 何もかもを大げさにしているから面白くて、

Ryōko Yonekura.

残業、勤務時間、職場で使う洋服とか・・・

She used to ballet for fifteen years,

個人的に、ひるま院長のキャラクターが 一番気に入っている

so she's very flexible and has amazing legs.

西田敏行が演じているひるま院長が本当に最高

Her outfits, her heels, her fashion is just so, like,

この番組をみたら絶対笑うからおすすめ！

boss lady beautiful.

ファッションが好きだったら

There are a lot of blogs that break down every outfit that she wears.

主役の米倉涼子さんがもともとバレエやっていたから

That's a little fun thing you can do on the side, but yeah.

とてもフレキシブルで、足も本当にすごい！

Boss lady fashion, snarky keigo freelancer, it's such a fun watch.

彼女のスタイル、ヒール、足などが本当にうらやましい。

It is a little cheesy, but they know they're being cheesy,

もう、パワフルでビューティフル！

so the writing is actually believable.

番組に出たファッション・スタイルが多くのウェブサイトに紹介されているから

Everything is on purpose, and it's just—you will laugh.

同じスタイルをまねできる。

My only note is that if you do not like gore or organs,

ファッションもスキルもすごい、 フリーランスの外科医

this is not going to be the show for you

時々、おやじギャグがダサいけど、

because they are very proud of their props department.

あえて、こういうスタイルにしているからこそ面白い。

It is very visceral, so if you're not looking for the sinews,

笑いの中に､感動もあるし、ユーモアたっぷりの番組

you might enjoy something else instead.

一つ注意点ですが、血と内臓が怖いなら

You don't need to necessarily watch it to the end.

ドクターXが見にくいかもしれません。

I would say the middle, like season three about, is really really good.

手術の細かい話や内臓のシーンはたくさんあるから

個人的に、ひるま院長が出るシーズンや シーズン３が一番面白いと思う。

One of my absolute favorite shows right now is Tsuri Baka Nisshi (Fishing Idiot Nishi).

最近一番はまっているタイトルは・・・

The English title on Netflix is called Free and Easy.

I am absolutely obsessed with this show.

英語のタイトルがFree and Easyといって (フリー・アンド・イージー）

This actor, Director Hiruma, is what I call him,

もう、このシリーズが本当に最高！！！

but he's really Nishida Toshiyuki.

ひるま院長がまた違うやつに出ている！と思って クリックしたんだけど

He is actually genius.

西田敏行さんが本当に天才！

His singing, his improv,

歌もうまいし、ユーモアもタイミングもいいし

he made a joke in Spanish while singing in—

スーさんをバカにしている曲の中で、 スペイン語のギャグもいきなりやっていた！

well, no spoilers. But anyways,

ネタばれしない、ネタバレしない

He's just such a genius and honestly,

西田敏行の雰囲気がまるで、 アメリカのRobin Williams氏に近いと思う。

he kind of reminds me of like, the Robin Williams of Japan.

タイトルの通り、主役の浜ちゃんがただの釣りバカで、

Wholesome and hilarious.

釣りのマニアでいろなヤバイシナリオに巻き込んで

Just like the title says, he's just a simple fishing idiot,

本当は正社員だけど、仕事できない人間です。

and these are all the high jinks that he gets into.

毎日遅刻して、

He has a normal office job, and he hates it.

仕事の途中で、竿を出すとか、

He's always desperately trying to get off of work early,

スーパーマンのように、いつでも釣りできるように、 シャツの下に釣りのウェアをしているとか

and rip off his suit because like Superman,

まあ最初、職場を出てランチをしていたら

he always has like fishing gear on underneath.

少し落ち込んでいるおじいさんに人生のアドバイスを語り始める。

And one of these times when he's ripping out of the office trying to get away

釣りするだけで、仕事のストレスが解消するとか

and back to his wife as soon as possible,

ネタバレじゃないけど、このおじいさんが同じ職場の社長さんでした

he runs into this older man, and he gives him some life advice.

とりあえず、鈴木建設の社長、スーさんと浜ちゃんが友達になって、

"The feel of the reel! And the fish at the end of your line!"

いつも一緒に釣りをやっているけど、

That ends up actually being the CEO of the company.

職場でばれないように関係を隠しているから

This is not a spoiler.

ギリギリばれていないかというところが面白い。

Basically every episode is the CEO and kind of like normal office worker.

結局浜ちゃんがかばって転職になるから

They become best friends, and all they want to do is go fishing,

ロケ地として使われている 日本の海沿いの町も見れるから良い

but they have to keep hiding that they know each other.

何十年前の海沿いの町って本当に美しい。

The high jinks, the humor.

最後まで見ていないからレビューがそこまでですが、

And usually because this fishing idiot usually messes something up,

今まで見たところでおすすめできる

he usually gets transferred to different places in Japan,

英語の字幕がないけど、 外国人は日本語2級のレベルであれば理解できると思う。

so you get to see these beautiful coastal landscapes

次のおすすめが結婚できない男

that you never even knew existed and are just so beautiful.

ストーリーがね、ジャック・ニコルソンと ヘレン・ハントが出た『恋愛小説家』にすごい近い。

I haven't finished it, so I'm going to hold back my full review.

まあ、紙ベースでは、結婚できない男の主役が 完璧のようです。

But, I do highly recommend it.

建築家だし、お金持ちだし、料理もできる

I haven't found a version with English subtitles yet,

でも、人間関係がまったくできないのです。

but if you are at least about N2 level, I think you can get through.

いろいろ細かい、おせっかい、KYなところもあるし

But yeah, so that's kind of like honorable mention #2.

人の気持ちも考えていることも読めずに、

The real #2 is Kekkon Dekinai Otoko (The Man Who Can't Get Married).

ただただ、自分ばっかの完璧主義

In a nutshell, Jack Nicholson from As Good As It Gets with Helen Hunt

ストーリーの中で出世している女の人と出会って

lives on the same floor as all the kids in Friends.

彼女たちは医者や弁護士で、最初桑野信介がすごいと思うが、

This guy, on paper, looks like a perfect guy.

結局すごい変な人やめんどくさい思う。

He's an architect, he's rich, he cooks.

逆に、桑野さんが彼女たちを追いかけることになって

But the problem is, he really sucks with human interaction.

全然病気じゃないのに、女性のお医者さんに診断をうけるとか

Like, it's really bad. Like, this is the Jack Nicholson.

とりあえず、用事なしで毎日病院に行く桑野さんが

He's very particular about how everything has to be a certain way,

彼女たちに会いたいけど、コミュニケーションが下手

and how the way he eats, everything has to be perfect.

気が合わないというより、完全にすれ違っている

So he's kind of like unbearably perfectionist.

ユーモアもいいし、ストーリーも面白い。

He keeps running into these really successful women,

正直、一番好きなところがこのワンちゃん

like doctors and lawyers who think he's a great catch,

もう本当にかわいい！

but realize he's just absolutely unbearable,

外国人でも、日本語がとても分かりやすいし

but him slowly realizing how much he craves their interactions.

理解できるし、自分の日本語の勉強にもなれるかも

So he just keeps showing up at like their places of work

私はシーズン１がそのままで完璧だと思った。

with no reason to be there,

シーズン２もあるが、1だけでいいと思う。

or like try to make up a reason to be there

これ、通常の日本のコメディじゃなくて

just so he can talk to these ladies,

だれでも見て面白いと思う。

but he really sucks at it.

笑いの中で、感動もあるからおすすめです！

The mismatching is just so, so priceless,

ナンバー３は　『きのう何食べた？』

and the characterization's really good.

やあ、これ驚いたわ！

It's really funny, and honestly,

日本でもこういうテーマの番組も あるなんて知らなかったわ！

if I can say this, I think the dog kind of makes the show

まあ、コメディーだけど、キャラクターのつくりが すごいディープで

perceptive, and smart, and hilarious, and sweet.

『きのう何食べた？』は主人公2人がゲイのカップルで

In terms of language, this is very normal adult Japanese.

一人が弁護士をやっていて、 もう一人が美容院で働いているカップルです。

There's nothing exaggerated.

毎日のライフスタイルと、夜帰ってきたらの食生活をメインにする物語。

You could literally take words right off the show and use them,

漫画に基づいているがまだ読んでいなくて、

and that would be great.

ゲイが抱える諸事情やゲイの息子を持っている両親の反応をテーマにする日本のドラマがあるなんて

There are English subtitles available.

正直びっくりしたわ！

Season 1 in and of itself was perfect.

いわゆる「ゲイ」を大げさに見せているわけでもないし、普通にリアルのカップルを表現しているドラマです。

I do not think you need season 2.

LGBTだからこそ、うまく演技ないと逆に失礼と思われるけど、

Season 1 is just a perfect little *mwah*

演技もストーリーも素晴らしい。

This show, it doesn't even feel like Japanese comedy.

主役のしろさんとケンジさんの二人で、 しろさんが西島秀俊のキャラクターです。

It just feels like people comedy,

西島秀俊は前から好きで、どんな役でも演技がウマイと思う。

and it's just—it just makes you feel really good.

どんな役でも、どっかであったようなキャラクターという風に感じる。

#3: Kinou Nani Tabeta? (What Did You Eat Yesterday?)

今回の役、しろさんが弁護士で、仕事とプライベートをはっきり分けたい、とてもまじめな人です。

This one blew me away.

ケンジさんがその反対で、

I didn't even know we had dramas like this in Japan.

しろさんのこと愛していることがもちろんですが、

It starts as a comedy, and then it just like—

もっとオープンになってほしい。

suddenly you realize you care so deeply about these characters.

タイトルだけで、食生活をメインにしたフラットなストーリーだろうと思ったけど、

Kinou Nani Tabeta? is a story about a middle-aged gay couple

彼らの裏の話や毎日の悩みの表現の仕方が 本当にすごい。

who live in Tokyo. One of them is a lawyer, and one of them works at a beauty salon.

ゲイだから、コンプレックスになるし、

And they're both just trying to navigate their every day,

ゲイのイメージがいやだから、 ド真面目に行動するとか

and come home at night and eat dinner together.

まあ、ステレオタイプになりたくないから焦っているしろさんが面白い。

It's based on a really popular manga, which I haven't read yet.

海外からすると、日本のテレビは変なネタやフラットでただただ人をバカにするというイメージがあるが、

I did not expect a Japanese comedy about LGBT topics to be so well-written,

でも、きのう何たべた？は絶対そうではない。

so realistic, and not over-the-top.

もちろん笑いもあるが、

At first, I thought it was going to be really cheesy and a disservice to a whole bunch of people,

バランスが完璧で、このシリーズが大好き！

but it was so—oh my gosh—

もっとあればもっと見たい！

like the acting, the story.

で、タイトルの通り、料理のシーンもあるから、 料理好きな人は見て面白いと思う。

The main characters are Shiro and Kenji,

これが私の最近の気に入りのタイトル。

and Shiro is played by Hidetoshi Nishijima.

普通のコメディーに見えるかもしれないが、

He is a very famous actor,

キャラクターもストーリーもディープで最高。

and he is so good with his roles.

以前のRobin Williams、Tom Hanksなどの質みたい。

He really builds characters that you believe and feel like you know.

NETFLIXの通常レベルを上回る。

His character is a full-time lawyer,

このタイトルをみて、ハッピーになりました。

and he just wants to be serious, respected, and do his job,

他に、流行っているタイトルは 『フォロワーズ』でしょ。

and he wants his work and his private life separate.

概要をみると、あまり好みではないと感じますが

Kenji, on the other side, is the exact opposite.

でもまあ、とりあえず人気ですね。

Like, you can tell he really adores Shiro, but hopes he would just open up.

今回のおすすめがみんな渋いけど

And I thought this was just going to be kind of like

この『フォロワーズ』が面白い？

a flat story of just what they eat every day,

他に見たタイトルは『アンダーウェア』

but it really evolved into these backstories of like

今回選んだとタイトルは国問わず、だれでも見て面白いと感じたものですが、

Shiro's mind complex of his imposter syndrome.

『アンダーウェア』がそれとちがっていて

He never feels like he's done enough.

別に、見る価値を感じなかったのです。

He's always trying to prove that he's professional.

まあ、一人の女性ボスということがポイントですが、

He's always trying to prove that he's good enough.

他にも若い主人公の役もあるが、

The silly things that he does to try to avoid getting stereotyped.

女性のボスをポイントにしている番組として、

I am so impressed.

男性がいないからこそ別に強くない　ようになっているから

You know, we always have this idea of like,

まあ、見て面白いと思ったけど、

quirky, goofy, kind of shallow comedy from Japan,

せっかくの女性のボスを 男性と関係なく強く見せてほしい。

and that is not this.

結局弱かったというのが 同じ女性の私にとってもったいないと思いました。

Obviously, there's bubbly, hilarious moments,

他の役も業界の話も面白かったけど

but it's gold, and I absolutely love this show.

主役の女子ボスがフラットすぎて、好きじゃなかった。

I really hope there's another season of this, but we shall see.

絶対好きじゃないタイトルは『響き』という映画

And, there are cooking scenes, so if you like cooking,

幼いころから北川景子が好きだったけど、

there's lots of cooking.

演技はまあまあだけど、以前から応援してきた俳優で

So, there you have it. Those are my top picks.

この映画にも出ているけど、面白いと思わなかったのです。

They look like just comedies on the surface,

ストーリーがね、

but deep down they're just so well-written,

小説の書き方やウマイ小説のストーリーについてですが、

and the characters are so deep.

その小説を一回も見せていないから

It really feels like Robin Williams, Tom Hanks, Mr. Rogers type of caliber

この女子高生の小説がウマイ！といっても、

is just on a different level than what I expected from a Netflix show

視聴者からすると証拠がないから信じられない。

to be honest.

テーマは小説の書き方だけど、具体的なものを見せていないから

But yeah, these are my feel-good shows that will make you laugh.

何のための映画か理解できない。

Things I haven't seen yet include The Followers.

まあ、おすすめが以上です。

I'm a little bit hesitant to try it.
