I never had the first iPhone that came out 10 years ago today, June 29th.

But I did get the I thrown three G the next year.

The three original.

I didn't really come out in the UK to October, and this one came out pretty quickly after is in the next June.

So, um yeah, just that we talk about the iPhone.

In fact, for something slightly different, Suren is filming this one on my iPhone, so actually shooting this on the iPhone seven footers give us away for sure.

We could go into lots of details about how the our friend is the greatest member.

I phoned the trends.

It's said there's plenty of other people producing videos that you could get interviews with, people actually involved in creating it.

I think the fascinating thing for May 2 things is purely personal.

Um, it was a huge difference when it came out in 2005.

I bought this, so it was Ah, a mobile phone on by.

Unfortunate doesn't work anymore.

If I drop it into its charging cradle, I think the battery's gone.

It'll get us farmers booting halfway through the instruction thing.

And it'll just so I brought this into that five.

It was it was great in some way.

So it was a touch screen with resistance, so you could tough it and you could use it for making notes.

It would run word.

Uh, yeah, just decide for me, the eye families.

That bright light is making you tune into a silhouette on your theatre.

Glorious is flicking like nobody's It's okay.

I'll just get that out yet so it would sort of quite well, um, but it had a few things.

It was It wasn't smooth, though it would suddenly drop the three g connection or something.

He wants three Gioconda.

Initially, you'd be sitting sitting there waiting for a phone call, and you find a complete this country from the network and never right.

So it was annoying things and actually see you could get devices before the iPhone that did similar features, but they just weren't a smooth and actually, most of the time I went back.

Thio sort of classic Star Trek.

Beam me up, Scotty style.

Motorola.

Pretty soon afterwards and Actually, Apple had worked with Motorola like Choose compatible.

Very into this.

The motor roller rocker, which waas on unmitigated disaster, I think, is the phrase it's best to use.

This is a phone that we have worked on with Motorola.

So actually, when this came along, he waas in many rays of this.

I think it was just the fact that it just was so easy to use the sort of touch screen, the multitudes in zone you get on and it really Waas revolutionary, I think.

And of course, it influenced how Android designed their phones on.

So it's a sort of changed because it's interesting now there for a lot of people there used normal computers.

They just use a mobile phone like an iPhone or Android phone, perhaps coupled with a tablet like an iPad as day today.

Computer right?

It has its in many maze.

It was as much a step from what computers were like before the Macintosh, what they were like after the market, just before the night that she had something like the apple to PC, to the time to the Macintosh away.

You had a full sort of Gillian.

We've looked at the Macintosh couple of years ago when it was their anniversary.

So you're sort of I think it has created the sea change in the way we use computers.

I don't think the vast majority of people are gonna be using desktop or laptop computers.

We will still have them people still using for seven task gaming.

Perhaps, although he's quite consoles may get better.

That who knows?

Phones whatever.

Certainly development probably want to do on that.

Whether I started getting ideas that are even better on that.

So who knows?

Maybe we'll just be talking to computers all the time.

Like in Star Trek 11 thing that I think is also quite important is it's absolutely interface.

It was, was revolutionary, know this idea of touch people didn't use toe, didn't have big screens and things.

Yeah, I mean, it was interesting.

That sort of the multi touch display was around.

You could see it was Jeff Han had a video came out early 2006.

You have the Microsoft surface back where Microsoft Surface met at an actual table service that took up the fires in the room, turning friends on to new music will one day be done with the greatest of ease.

The idea was there but suddenly went from large displays of installation type things to certainly fit in your pocket.

And I think that was again.

How did having managed that and actually realizing that that created an interface that was so usable was sort of fastening.

The other thing I found fascinating singing in terms of its from the tree.

And obviously you've got the apple sort of line feeding in.

It runs macros X or variant of it, which comes from the mag and comes from next and so on.

But it was all designed around the arm chips.

It's actually powered by an armed chip, which is not unusual for mobile phone or the iPod.

But of course, that comes from the acorn line of things.

So this is, ah, old Acorn 3000 and this is the probably great great great grandson.

Let go of the granddaddy of the processor in a modern mobile phone.

This was the original arm to chip, which power things like this or the original argument so I can sort of see lots of different lines of technology, sort of merging to form this one device, I would say one device, but that was the one that crystallized.

And from that you got the android phones, Your windows phone.

I'm sure someone still uses them on DSO on And it really waas different from having devices with T boards or limited interactivity.

Yeah, you view a web page on this which you couldn't really do before, even on something like the AIPAC.

It wasn't Apple's first stab it having some kind of organizer.

Yes, Apple had in the nineties.

They created the Newton.

This is the original model.

I didn't have one at the time.

I'm sort of picked one up later.

Which again you could actually sort of used to take notes.

It didn't have an Internet connectivity, although I did have an eye our port so you could sort of stick your mobile phone if it had on eye, are poor and get online that way.

But the interesting thing about this is that you could actually right on it.

And so, in the sort of classic create a new note file this note in putting business.

So in the classic thing, we just want to sort of take a note.

So in the classic one we want to beat but marching on just like in the symptoms it doesn't come out with the right.

So, yeah, Apple to do this right?

Actually, this again was probably, for its time, a revolutionary device.

But it just wasn't quite ready.

The handwriting recognition wasn't quite good.

And of course, it's still it's file of fact style rather than sort of slip it in your pocket.

And so yeah, I think it's everything came together and we history showing how it's changed, everything running there.

So yeah, and of course, the cameras are getting better.

And so we can even feel in computer file on a mobile phone now.

So what we got here?
