Firstofall, whydon't youtellus a littlebitaboutyourprofessionalbackground.
Beenworkingas a businessanalystforlastover 10 years, and I havemostlyworkedinoperationsandcustomercontactcenterteam, whereworkedon a lotofdifferentprojectsintermsofmyeducation.
I studiedatUniversityofToronto.
Sohowmybusinessanalysiscertificationfromthere, I alsowentbacktoschoolagainandfinishedmyleansix a monthcertificationfromUniversity.
Awesome.
Soyouare a businessanalyst?
Essentially, you'vehad a lotofyearsinthatfield.
Great.
Sowhydon't yousharewithus a littlebitaboutyourstorybeforeworkingwithmethroughstandardgethired, tellus a littlebitaboutwhatwasgoingonwithyourjobsearch.
So I finishedmylastcontractinOctoberoflastyear, andsincethen, onandoff, I waslookingforworkand I wasn't getting a lotofcallbox, so I wasn't getting a lotofinterviews, andevenwhen I wouldgetaninterview, I wasinhavingmysuccesslikewillmakeittothefirstround.
But I wouldn't makeittothesecondroundwherethethirdround I wasworkingmaybe 10 to 12 hours a day, applyingforjobs.
I wouldapplyforanywherefrom 5200 200 jobs a week, and I wasn't havingmuchsuccess.
And I doremember I thought I cameacrossyourquartersforworkingonmyresume, so I endeduptakingoffcourse, andthatdidhelpmegetmoreinterviews.
But I knowmyweaknesswastheinterviewprocess.
Sowhen I get a lotofquestions, sometimes I getreallynervousordon't sharetherightdetails.
Itcomesacrossasif I wasn't prepared.
Sothatwasmyexperiencein a nutshellbefore I startedtheprogramwithyou.
Great.
So, yeah, andyouknow, that's somethingthat a lotofpeoplestrugglewithistheycangettheinterview.
AndthenhowareyouapproachinginterviewsafteryoulearnedmyinterviewstrategiesandmethodsbeforeusingLinda's interviewstrategies I wasgoingintotheinterviewsfeelingreallynervous, reallyanxious.
I didn't feelpreparedfortheinterview, andattimes I wouldfeelreallyoverwhelmedaswell, becauseifit's a panelinterview, youhavethreeormorepeopleinterviewingyou, anditwouldfeellikethewholefocusisonmeandeverythingthat I'm sayingeveryoneislikewritingitdown, andthatwasreallyoverwhelming.
Thereweretimeswhen I wouldwakeupinthemorningoftheinterview, and I'llbepetrifiedjustknowingthat I haveaninterviewtodayand I wouldn't wanttogetoutofbedjustcauseif I justsleptlonger, maybeit's goingtogoaway.
However, aftermeetingwithyouandgoingoverthestrategieswhilewhat I learnedwas, thatwasn't a goodwaytogoaboutthings.
Sothen I wouldpreparemyanswersmorefromthejobdescription.
Soreally, lookat a reskillthathavelistedinthejobdescription, breakitdownandkindofpreparequestionsarounditandthenpreparemyanswersaroundyou, too.
Sowhatthatdidwasitreallypreparedmewhen I wasgoinginto a jobinterview?
So I'llfeelreallyconfident.
I wouldfeellikeanyquestionthattheythrewatme.
I wasalreadyexpectingithadoneversionoranotherversionofitalreadypreparedinmyhead, soitgaveme a lotofconfidencedoinganinterviewatanypointoftime.
Iftheyweretoaskme a questionthat I wasn't sureaboutwhere I didn't reallyprepareforit, I knewthatLinda, talkme a strategywhere I couldprepareextrastoriesandadvanceand I coulduseoneofthosestoriestomyadvantage.
So I wouldseethatthepeopleinterviewingmethatwouldstartsmilingatmewith a psycholike I couldseethelookontheirfacelike, Oh, shejustthought, ifitonthespotbecause I'm notgoodathidingmyemotionssoyoucouldseeprettymucheverythingonmyfacesotheycouldreallytellthat I justthoughtifitonmyfeetandthatitwas a goodanswerthatreallyimpressed.
Amazing.
Okay, Sowhohadbeenlookingforyourjobfor a whileandyouhadgoneoninterviews?
And, likeyousaid, youwerereallynervousandyouweren't sureonwhetheryouweregoingtoget a newjobandyoufeltnotgoodenough.
Sothenyoudecidedtosignupforstandup, gethired.
Whatmadeyoudecideonthat?
Andwhatwasyourexperience?
So I wasthinkingaboutsigningupfortheprogramformaybefourorfivemonths, and I thinktheonlyreasonwhy I didn't signupforitsoonerwaasmebasicallyjustturninginmyownwayinstoppingmeormycareerfrommovingforward.
Andthereasonwhy I signedupfortheprogramwasbecause I reallybelievedin.
Youhavereadsomanyofyourtestimonials.
I watchedsomanyofyourvideosandenergetically, there's somethingaboutyouthatalwaysattractedme.
Sowhat?
I decidedtofinallyinvestinmyselfinmycareertoe.
Lookfor a newrole.
I wasn't goingtoinvestwithanybodyelsebutyoubecause I hadconfidenceinyourprogram.
I knewthatwhen I startedtheprogram, whether I wasabletolandanofferintheforcedfourweeksorthreeweeks, orevenbythecompletionoftheprogram, I knewitwasgoingtobesuccessful, whetheritwasdoingthattimeframeorwhetheritwasgoingtobelateron.
And I knew a lotofwhatyou'regoingtoteachme.
It's notgoingtobejustforthisparticularrole.
I knowthat I'm goingtobeabletotakethisforwardandalsobeabletousethisandmycurrentrolemovingforwardcause I meaneverythingthatyoudoteachme.
I useitrightnow.
We'relikeeveryday.
So I doreviewmynotesfromtimetotime, likeeveryotherdayorsomething, anditgivesme a lotofconfidence, everythingthatyou'vetaughtme.
And I'm sogratefulforthat.
Well, thankyousomuchforsharingthatyouknow, because a lotofpeopletheyfeelwell, whenitcomestofinding a job, I shouldjustbeabletofinditmyself.
I shouldjustshouldjustbeabletodoitmyself.
And, youknow, obviouslyGoogle, there's a lotofinformationonGoogle.
I mean, obviously, ifyousearchmeup, you'llfindmeonGoogle.
But I guesswhatdidyouhavetodofrom a mindsetperspectivethatshiftedyoufromsaying I'm notgoingtokeeptryingthisonmyown.
I'm gonnaaskforhelp, and I'm gonnareachouttoLindaspecificallytohelpme.
So I'd reached a reallylowpointinmylife, whichhaven't last 15 16 years.
Like a spoke a littlebitaboutitearlier, abovenervousnessornotfeelinggood.
Thatfeelingdidn't justlastduringtheinterviews.
Thatfeelingwasbecoming a permanentfeelinginmylife.
Sowewasstartingtoimpactmyrelationshipwithmyhusbandormyrelationshipwithmyfriendsbecausemostofmyfriendshadjobsandwhenwouldmeet I wouldjustnotbefeelinggoodabout, likespendingmoneywherehedidn't knowwhattotalkaboutandthatbecameapartmentandfeeling, andthat's not a goodfeeling.
And I startedreallyworryingaboutmyselfthatifthisfeelinglasttoolong, likethingsaregoingtoturnfortheworst.
Andwhatreallyshiftedwaseventuallynotthat I wasn't feelingguidelike I wasn't motivatedtodoanything.
I didn't wanttoworkout.
I didn't wanttodoyoga, have a dog.
I wouldn't reallywanttotakehimoutfor a walk.
I woulddoitbecause I hadtowalkhimeveryday.
Butitwasn't because I wasexcitedand I really, reallywantedtodoit.
Andwhen I reachedthatpointand I makeit a pointtowrite, likeonepageortwopageseveryday, ifnoteveryday, I pushmyselftodoiteveryweek, andthen I alsogooverandreviewmynotes.
Sowhen I reviewedmynotesforthelosslikemonth, monthand 1/2 and I sawwhat I hadwrittendownandhowit's feeling, I toldmyself I waslike, No, somethinghastochangewhat I amdoing.
It's notworking.
What I'm researchingonGoogleorwhat I'm findingonLincoln.
So I knew I hadtochangeand I hadtoinvestinmyself, andthatwasreallytheturningpointforme, justknowingthat I hadtodoitformyselfandmyselfonly, youknow, nowthat I thinkbokatit, I feellike I shouldhavedoneitsooner, becausethen I wouldn't havewentthroughallthisemotionalandpsychologicalmessthat I didgothrough.
Andthen I putmyfamilyandmyfriendsthrough.
Soif I investedsooner, I wouldjusthavebeenhappiersooner.
I wouldhavegot a chancetomakemeatLinda's, but I'm really, reallygladthat I didit.
Itmademefeel I wasproudofmyselfbefore I evengotthejobbecause I learnedtolookatmyselfdifferently.
Onceagain.
Itwasawesome.
Youknow, I think a lotofpeoplewillbeabletorelatebecause, youknow, justlikeyousaid, whenyou'renotworkingandyou'retryingtofind a newjobandyouhaveallyourfriendsandfamilywhoareworking, youfeelleftoutandyoufeellikesomething's wrongwithyoubecauseyou'renotabletogetthejobthatyouwant, butyouknowyoudeserveit.
So I'm sogladthatyoumadethatinvestmentandthatwewereabletoworktogether.
So I don't thinkitwasjustoneortwothingshave a listofthingsthat I amtakingawaywithmefromthisprogram.
I wouldsaythecoupleofthetopthingswouldbecommunications.
So I learnedhowtocommunicatewithpeoplewhile I wasinterviewingandhowtophrasemyanswers, whichreallyhelpedmebuildmyconfidencelevelandhelpmefeelbetteraboutmyself.
Theothertakeawayformewasthatconfidenceorfeelinggoodandreallybelievingintheprogram, regardlessofwhattheoutcomeoffthethatoneparticularinterviewwillbebecause I feltthat I wasvaluable, that I wasworth a lotmorethanhowwasthinkingandfeeling.
Andthat's allbecauseofLinda's program.
IfLinda's programwasn't designedin a waytotakecareofhow I wasfeelingemotionallyandpsychologically, I don't thinktheprogramwouldhaveworkednotonlyformyself, foranybody, butbecauseit's designedin a waywhereittakescareofeverysingleelement.
Becausesheknowshowpeoplearefeeling.
Itreallyhopemeoneverysinglelevel.
Um, theothermajoraspect, I wouldsay, isthat a lotoftimeswhenyou'reresearchingforprograms, eithertheyseemtoSchwartzwherethey'rejustextremelylengthy, whereyou'resittingandworkinglikeeighthours a day.
Shebuiltit, keepingyouinmindandwhat's goingtoworkforyou, whichisreallyimportanttomebecause I don't wantsomeonetogiveme a programandtoldmeThisworkforeverybodyandthisisgoingtoworkforyou.
I wantsomeonetomeetmeandcustomizedtheprogramforme.
Sowhydon't youtellus a littlebitaboutwhatyourendresultswere, Whatwhatendeduphappeningpartwaythroughtheprogrambecausewe'renotevencomplete, butyouwereabletogetresults.
Socanyoutellus a littlebitaboutthestatisticsonwhathappenedintermsofhowmanyjobsyouappliedforandandtheoffersthatyougot?
I didn't wanttoapplyfortoomanyrolesbecause I didn't wanttooverwhelmmyself, and I reallywantedtoworkonmyself, and I reallywantedtopickthejobsthat I wasreallyinterestedin.
So I applyforthreerules, and I hadsuccessinlandingthefirstinterview.
Notonlythat, I wentthroughtheprocessand I madeittothethirdround.
Andafterthethirdround, oneorganizationmadeanofferand a verygladlyaccepteditin a heartbeatbecauseit's inthecapitalmarketsindustry, whichiswhere I wantedtoework.
Theotherthingwas, it's in a projectmanagementteam, whichwasmysecondrequirement.
Andthird, it's thetypeofworkthat I reallywanttodothatenjoy.
So I acceptedtheofferandtheothertworolesVerykindly.
I cantellyouthiswith a lotofconfidencethatyou'renotgoingtoregretitatall.
You'rereallygoingtolovetheprogram.
You'regoingtoenjoyit, andyou'regoingtohave a lotofsuccessfromtheprogram.
I mean, ifmyhusbandisgoingtodoit, I feellikeeveryonewhoisevenlearntabouttheprogramshoulddoitanyways, whetheryou'rethinkingof a careerchangerightnowornot, becauseit's goingtohelpyouinwhateverrulethatyouareinrightnowatthemoment.
So, Sudafed, Doyouhaveanyotherfinalwordsofwisdomoradvicefortheaudience?
I knowthatyouhave a programcomingout, whichiscalledTopNotchinterview.
Soifthereisanyofyououtthere, we'relookingfor a newrule.
I highlyrecommendthisprogrambecause I knowthisprogramhasallthestrategiesthatLindahastaughtme, andtheyreallyhelpedmeand I'm sureit's reallygoingtohelpyou.
Okay, great.
Well, thankyousomuch.
Sudafed.
I reallyappreciateyoutakingthetimeandspendingitherewitheveryone.
