We all felt connected to our hometown library. My library felt enormous. My library was the center of our town. It held imagination. Adventure. It held information. My library sent me on my life's path, I'm not kidding. It gave me access to the outside world. The skills I needed to succeed. It's where I would go to go online. Perspective. A sense of discovery. It was the coolest place in Santa Monica. In Des Moines. In Boston. In Houston. In York, Pennsylvania. Without my library, I would definitely not be the person I am today. I would have never taken my first class in coding. I would have never pursued my career as a librarian. My library helped me develop skills. Think critically. Think creatively. Stay curious. How to create my own opportunities. How to apply for my first job. I still remember my favorite librarian, Ms. Pauler. Mrs. Wagner. Ms. Terry. Ms. Taylor. Throughout national library week, Google is reminding everyone of the power of local libraries. They provide job training. Opportunities. The books. The quiet. The careers that can get started. And it all happens at your local library. Lets celebrate libraries for all the good they do. They're open to all. Which is why we say, Thank you. Thanks. Thank you, Martin Library. Thank you, West Nyack Free Library. Paris County Public Library. Thank you for helping me open doors. Thank you for helping me apply to college. Thank you for making me a lifelong learner. Renew your library card. Take your kids to the library today. Never stop learning. Support your local library. Because when you give people access to the right tools, they can do anything. What's your library story? (medium tempo drum and guitar)
