  • Hello and welcome to the Sun Racing preview of Day two of the Children Festival in association with Beltway I'm tumbled and delighted to be joined by Steve Mullen, a k a.

  • Temple Gate and Chad Germans off Beltway to discuss the Wednesday, which is, of course, headlined by Beltway Champion Chase.

  • But first up, we're going to look at the Ballymore Novices Hurdle, which sees Irish hot pot on violent take on a very classy field, including the likes of Big Break or what the Big Break Away on the Big Gets Away alongside Sporting John on a few others.

  • Now, Charlie gonna come to you first.

  • Here.

  • I know you're a big fan of a violin, but you also like something else, don't you?

  • I do.

  • I mean, look at the race thing.

  • It's gonna be one of the things I'd be short for.

  • The baby.

  • 789 years in it, baby.

  • But M envoy Len, it's That's right.

  • Production is unbeaten on dhe.

  • Probably take all of it.

  • I can't see him finishing down.

  • If it'll if whoever beats him, we'll win it.

  • Sporting John to May's toe off top class.

  • But I think he's I think he's a little bit off top class.

  • I wasn't overly impressed with the Ascot run.

  • Wait.

  • He did what he needed to do that.

  • But I mean, I don't know.

  • I think that the horses behind him come just fell away.

  • I just still think he's just not there.

  • Just perfect to me personally.

  • The big Getaway of Willie Mullins His horse has been being a couple of times what a couple but been beaten.

  • Time heals on beating this season when the Beltway cello at Newbury might want further May want further through the horse I do like is the big break away for his own.

  • He's unbeaten, and this is in a similar mo to sport in Jonah's in the still needs to step up short and still needs to find something.

  • But the way he moves suggest to me that he there is something very good about this whole.

  • So whilst an envoy lends gonna be sure you take all the meat in the big breakaways.

  • Is it each way price of tremendous and temple?

  • What do you think about the big break?

  • We went into my notebook as well.

  • I just thought the way jumped was fantastic at Newbury.

  • Envoy Island is going to take a lot of be 10 years.

  • And all these bankers, though, does normally one that goes down on this does look a pretty hot race.

  • I mean, I agree to an extent about sport in John.

  • This is much harder than Ascot time.

  • Hell, I think.

  • Do you like the horses really good tea on.

  • We're going to assume it's going to be a real test of stamina.

  • Doesn't slow is everyone says that thing's got a pheromone paces well placed in the champion Boom Parana Envoy Islands.

  • Just the perfect trends.

  • Horses.

  • Well, let me leave it down to being like a winning pointer pointer and everything.

  • Gordon Elliott.

  • It's just hard to see it being beaten, but did add a couple at a reasonable price that could chase home Wendy in one of those I quite like is the big Get away, not the big break away.

  • This is William Wallace, the source, I must say now he's got a lot to find.

  • I know that on the figures and everything like that, but he has got so much potential in the world, and you look at him last time he wants so easily.

  • I know it was only in a week race, but he could not want any better.

  • And William on six.

  • The world of this horse, you all said to me may be said, said General, that he said no.

  • He said before that you think he's thinks the big getaway is the biggest horses ever settled, which is some statement, because every spring the likes of do van and voter or some very big orders.

  • But for me, the big getaway has got an awful lot more to come.

  • This contest is really going to suit him.

  • He's also into the Albert Bartlett, but he's more ready to go here for me.

  • He's the one to take on, obviously hot favorite on violin.

  • Who does look extremely bombproof on it?

  • Probably take all the beating report.

  • Look, mate, look silly if we take him on, but I do think the big getaway is one of those horses that could just see him off in the closing stages.

  • But I'm gonna go with him.

  • Temple Gate on violin.

  • The big break her in time held for the place is tremendous olive oil, and but the big break away for any place accent.

  • Move on now to the three Milestone.

  • A tester is the R S A.

  • For novice chases.

  • This year's race again looks very competitive indeed, with Champ heading the market and Nick Anderson despite taking a tumble last time at Cheltenham, Nellore Endo, last year's Albert Bartlett winner, goes here.

  • Must have a massive chance for Henry Graham, head of that man again.

  • Ah, La Ho and Copperhead also holding extremely strong claims.

  • That's not gonna come to you first for this one.

  • Do you think?

  • Champ Neller, Indo Allah Ho cop.

  • Always.

  • There's something else that you like.

  • No, they're my short list, but I would have champ as the bottom of that.

  • I just I just think you mentioned he took a tumble down.

  • I mean, a tumble in the ESPN flatten offense.

  • And that was horrible for the horse and everybody, and it was just really good to see him.

  • OK, after that.

  • I know Barry Garrity's Mad King on the horse, and he never stops talking about himself, you know, but therefore was about terror.

  • It's not the best prep, is it?

  • In the race that was supposed to have a preppy in off that was called exactly.

  • So I mean, you know, it is really spell worry doesn't exactly.

  • I mean, I like copperhead, especially if this again we keep talking about soft ground itself, then it's a mean, this is always a stabbing a test.

  • I think he probably wants further than this already on, but I think that would be a really assets Manila Riendeau.

  • You know the other part last year that that's good for Miss Welch on again?

  • Allah Ho win enough very house.

  • Looked pretty good, looked again, looked progressive, but just favor Copperhead.

  • To think would jump a lot of questions to answer, I think.

  • Excellent shot.

  • Yeah, I'm not made a final champ, Some with you with you on that.

  • I think he'd be better next year.

  • I still think he's got a lot to learn.

  • Is jumping is erratic at the best of times anyway, Maybe the plant actually want me to go back over hurdles.

  • If if Pacey Parks were beaten that that three murders looks wide open next year, then maybe it's something for them to reroute about re route towards like Mila.

  • And I know he's only two runs this season on that goes against all the steps.

  • Really, you've gotta have three.

  • Generally, toe women always say, But if you watch the Albert Bartlett back, he called.

  • Could've called him the winner after 50 yards after 250 after after any judges, the winner always like he's just he's just different class of them on that day.

  • So I just think that he's improving on Lost another connections.

  • Thought that Molly was gonna be there Gold Cup winner.

  • I think this could be their goal.

  • Could win it in a couple of years time.

  • I think Allah Ho is very useful, but six years, six year olds in our essays, I think just come unstuck.

  • That's my one downfall is he might just have a year to Young.

  • I agree with that completely.

  • I mean, his second smart novice, easy game time for last looks strong.

  • Foreman obviously did both up last time, but I do really, for a six year old is quite tough.

  • Ask.

  • I also agree with because I think Manila Window is gonna win this race, as you say.

  • Very, very easy.

  • One of last year's Albert Bartlett Harry Room has left plenty toe work with, Considering how much potential has got over fences on the horse that he beat last time out, Captain CJ has gone on to boost the form by winning a great to himself.

  • So it does look very strong and I think I think he's a class act.

  • Very, very, very strong stare.

  • And I think it's got all the class you need to win a race like this and I do think he has a future Gold Cup of myself as well.

  • Hopefully you have too much stamina for these and too much pace and you can win this when it well, we can all look forward.

  • Seeing short Price with Texas Gold Cup That'd be great, wouldn't it?

  • Obviously, Champ, I just can't see him coming into this offer full.

  • I think it's too tough and ask.

  • I mean, he's obviously got a huge mark class and the way that you did win it knew Bree earlier in the season where Barry messed it up completely forgetting where Iwas It was very impressive because I mean it's a verdict find a bit extra in the closing stages.

  • Copperhead been a revelation this season completely agree one very, very well in the rental stand last time in a race that actually did kind of fall apart.

  • But but you could have done any better.

  • Obviously very strong traveler who jumps extremely well, see him running a big race.

  • But for me is Manila window one that we should just give a quick shout out to our slate house.

  • Run appallingly badly in the courts will chase last time, but Robbie her came out offer and said he's never traveling was an excuse that they if you can take that excuse at face value, and he's got a big chance because of the time before that.

  • You want a great one company, The cornerstone officers chasing Kempton, which is very strong, form on a pretty big price.

  • At 16 16 after one mark, I'm so you could go well.

  • But for me, it's Miller in Manila window head from a window for me.

  • Absolutely great.

  • Moving on now to the highlights of day to which I have to say for most is probably the highlight of the entire week.

  • The Beltway Queen, Mother champion chase, three horses, all going hammer and tongs.

  • That's what we all hope is gonna happen over a two mile speed test that is the champion chase.

  • What a race we have in prospect.

  • If they all do turn up if they all don't fall and they're all there in the last for long.

  • My goodness me, it could be some finish.

  • Those three are all to your shack on purse.

  • Watch on deaf people.

  • Deaf, deaf he do.

  • Soy goes all those French names.

  • It is hard to keep track of people coming to you.

  • First of all those horses, Who's your money on Definite Story yet has been, for a long time been so impressed with them this season at authority, Be a two and 1/2 miles had given everyone over that resort trip last season.

  • But what you did in the Tingle Creek was very impressive.

  • Just keeps improving.

  • I think evil to your hits, his flat spot or whatever it is that happens, especially if the ground is and quick, which it won't be.

  • I think he'll be away and gone.

  • I really do.

  • It's gonna be the race of the meeting.

  • I'm familiar to the top of the meeting.

  • Tremendous confidence.

  • Um, whilst I think the front three making an amazing race.

  • Lto, I think, has lost a gear on and you say Well, probably won't appreciate it.

  • It's soft.

  • It's gonna bay definite.

  • Soy still has to improve again.

  • Just a winner when the championships for May, shock and post wide and very tough race in Ireland.

  • The Times from the back of the last to the winning line.

  • We're very slow on it just tells you that a grueling race.

  • But the price is dynamite dollars to Paul Nichols, who was only being three lengths by lto and there's the price is different, and it was the 1st 1 back from back.

  • He was favorite for the article before he went out last year.

  • They've campaigned him knowingly.

  • Full.

  • Well, he's gonna come back.

  • I spoke to Harry Darren.

  • It's Newton Abbot last July, and he said he's come back in his fine.

  • We're gonna try aiming for the game spirit, give me a rundown and go straight to the chase.

  • If that was the plan from 10 months before they've given, given him a real goods, they know what they've got.

  • Did I thought I mean, he looked up, looked winner until one out real actual Harry Compton golf and said that it could have made him.

  • It could have squeezed a bit quicker, but first run back each one to see why you still have left.

  • He was impressed impressively.

  • I think that the prices you're here, we'll strip fit for that will improve.

  • Actually, I don't know what that is.

  • Brave against the Big three.

  • I have to say Kudos to you, Chad.

  • We're doing that.

  • I Unfortunately, I'm not doing that.

  • I'm very much going with deputised soy.

  • I just think he's the young Pretend that he's both.

  • His performances in the Clarence Ashes on the table was so good.

  • I mean, particularly Clarence House.

  • We absolutely destroyed them when I know in the soap, but it wasn't his best.

  • But even so, you want the bridal going away like Come on, what a horse he is.

  • I mean, it's so exciting.

  • It great.

  • See Philip Horse of the Great one in a championship race, that be tremendous else, your Nicky Henderson said last week.

  • He just doesn't want this off.

  • Ground doesnt thinks that Deputy Soy will be much better suited for that, and we'll probably beat him in the ground, which isn't really what you wanna hear it nice credit to definite decipher went into triumph, going off on having a bad season, which all horses candy.

  • We want seven out of seven on the first and then came back on one of jail today.

  • Absolutely no, it's it's very best is he has been a very good horse, and maybe I'm crabbing him more than I should be because someone effective could really come into it as well.

  • Because you just got pace and stamina, which is on the way on this slow chase that Aaron this season, You know what?

  • He would have been way 80% probably around that time of year, and he's still on the turn of foot.

  • You showed off the last was very impressive.

  • I just think he is the one to be, and I don't think shocking purse was gonna get anywhere near it.

  • Or do you just think I say every single time he runs, he needs to have the perfect ride every single time.

  • That is true because he's got one kick.

  • One burst and won't go on.

  • Dhe shelter them.

  • They're all good.

  • They know that they're not.

  • No one's gonna be letting Barry of a free rein that they're going to make sure they could do whatever they can to block that once.

  • But what?

  • But one with speed.

  • So it becomes a bit more tactical affair.

  • That's possibly Barry's the manager.

  • Yeah, yeah, it's interesting because the three, they're the big three.

  • For me out your was very impressive, and I actually thought was back to the best in every last time.

  • And a lot people don't including You don't believe that, but I I think he waas.

  • But I think we'll just get this is a speed will get blunted in the soft ground.

  • I think shocking for SWAT is very overrated.

  • Personally, I think he's over height.

  • I think, you know, maybe men last time out.

  • I just think it's going to struggle against two really, really top class to possibly two of the best we've ever seen.

  • I think No, I'm over two miles.

  • I mean, I didn't still really could know they could be.

  • I mean, after we already know is he's won two championships is he already is one the best we've seen.

  • I'm a lot older than you fly maybe dessert was.

  • We'll throw the mixed know when, but I think definitely sorry for me all day long.

  • And I think he might win this quite easily, actually.

  • Course to mention this bullet log.

  • Who could take them on top of a long story and was obviously very close second in the race last year.

  • And I think he actually he will obviously be in campaign for this.

  • He's got big chance if they do let him loose up front.

  • So rolled up in the same form this season.

  • We run a huge race in it last year, but he couldn't win the last year.

  • He's a little bit too soft to exactly the political will be the horse keeping Barry boxed inside the oh so, Chad, in conclusion, obviously, you're gonna go with John with dollars each way on deaf.

  • You both both of us defeat their field.

  • Definitely, definitely, absolutely brilliant on now to the champion bump of the only flat race of the entire meeting, a grade one for some very nice up and coming horses.

  • The market is headed socially by Appreciate it after his massively impressive Leopardstown win last time out, it does look as Loki Very much is the one to beat Bernie.

  • Hello.

  • William wants a second string panic attack who has now moved from luminous to David Pipe, Israel champ.

  • Another day, Of course.

  • He's obviously got some very strong form in England.

  • Loads of others.

  • It doesn't between top for the market for me.

  • Temple Gate.

  • What do you think about this race?

  • Well, Willie Mullins hasn't an incredible record, but it's not always or even often the hot pot that wins in a resource that in recent years appreciate, it has done everything right.

  • But it's a very short price, and you were mentioning fairly hollow.

  • I thought that was very impressive.

  • First time Hood seems yeah yet on the bridle.

  • For a long time, I thought that was good and I really like panic attack.

  • I'm not sure what's quite behind the moon across the Irish Sea, but I get the impression that David Pope's desperate to win this race on Dhe along with Israel champ.

  • But I think panic attack.

  • Okay, it's going up a level here.

  • Haven't Bean in the William Mullins a finishing school to come over and when it for David Pipe wouldn't be a shock, but I do quite like for any hollow at a reasonable price.

  • I think appreciate it's gonna take all the beating.

  • That's not.

  • It's not a big surprise because of the price.

  • The way he bolted up the last two times suggested to me that he's a monster.

  • He's a big horse and he's got a lot of shoulder muscles.

  • Yeah, and I think it's gonna be a lot more forth.

  • Some.

  • Another bump, Ortiz just the way it goes down and go through the ground.

  • I think that experience, it's very telling another horses.

  • You said you made the point that William Ellen's unstable start doesn't necessarily win it quite like a nerd.

  • German.

  • Okay, off William Mullins Yard, owned by Tony Bloome.

  • This horse ran for Tom Lacy a couple years ago in a point of Lark Hill.

  • Lock a nerd, remember, in the second division and Sebastopol won the first division.

  • The basketballs turned out to be very useful for Tom Lacy on.

  • Bergman was then snapped up for a hell of a lot of money by Tony Bloome and William.

  • Innit?

  • They do think a hell of a lot of this horse finished 3rd 1st time up for Willie Mullins in November was really well about that day.

  • Andi.

  • Just experience.

  • Just you could say he was a bit green.

  • Ran all over.

  • The shop, came this side, came stand side down the phone found in the strait, but then bolted up.

  • Next time, Andi, he's going to stay three miles.

  • Nothing.

  • Sometimes you need to be a three miler to win the bumper, and I just get the feeling he's got slightly to the radar because of phony, hollow and appreciated taken the majority of the owners.

  • But it's a very interesting viewpoint, actually.

  • Never thought that was really as a bump.

  • Whenever you absolutely I'm gonna go with a horse called Ocean Wind in this so even mentioned yet.

  • But Roger Teal Yep, that's no over his flat exploits, but this is good because it's flat race, so excellent, probably in need of experience that showed him he was second in two starts ago, and that was unlisted company.

  • And then when I'm sorry that was in this company or sinister company last time when you bolted up by eight lengths at Newbury, that was very good form, actually cause the horses behind him and no marks at all on Dhe.

  • I think he's got a big chance.

  • Visually was very impressive that day, which always helps.

  • I think if you look a champion bump, you want a horse you can rely on to be.

  • You know, it's got serious about paste and stamina, which he does have exactly.

  • So hopefully you can take the step up in greatness.

  • Tried for one detail.

  • So ocean wait for me.

  • They're probably just fairly hollow, just at the prices, I think appreciates it just because I think he's gonna be bigger than the rest of them.

  • But a nerd a man each way.

  • OK, lovely on now to the most unorthodox race of the Jumper Festival, of course, the cross country chase tiger all head to the market here, the jewel Grand National winner, the Jewel cross country, whether he really is Ah, horse for the ages.

  • And he goes here with an absolutely massive chance after a very nice forth on his reappearance at Navin earlier in the season, he obviously has to win this before going to the Grand National when it has to perform a nice race, he's gonna be in with a chance at a tree and I expect connections.

  • Think he's going to go very well indeed.

  • But he's got to take on a horse called Easy's Land who is quite exciting.

  • His own right.

  • Jacob recently bought him and he produced a very nice performance.

  • Is one of which was, of course, over course and distance, and he actually won a power last.

  • Po, I should say it last time in France, a za viewers in this world might bite might bite on urgent Digger Again.

  • Youngworth is welcome.

  • Releasing mentioned Chad, What about you would think about this?

  • Maybe good for racing.

  • See Tiger roll win and then go on to bid for a historic third Grand national in right.

  • I just somehow failed that it's going to come against in this year and it's in a cross country.

  • Easy.

  • Slammed was so impressive and tell them winner of his last six runs J P is now bought him and he doesn't buy any old.

  • He wants to win the cross country.

  • There's been plenty of when it's urgent.

  • Urgent Grogan and Diesel Dolly, I think, won the Nobel version.

  • He could've bought any of them, but you bought this thing?

  • Easy.

  • Slam that one in December.

  • He must have been impressed.

  • And it must be told, This is the right one.

  • Has been plenty of support from over the last 678 weeks.

  • It just looks like he's good Kings.

  • Well, theater for Marcus.

  • Good more Round one.

  • This the November version about three years ago.

  • He'll go.

  • Well, if you're usually does.

  • Yeah, yeah, but easy Slam is gonna take some beating.

  • I believe I love that taking on Tiger roll, but I agree with a lot of that.

  • I definitely agree that Tiger Roll would be a brilliant winner.

  • Hit the headlines again.

  • There is a little bit of a feeling that, you know it's all about entry are no less worthy run, Walter on business.

  • But the bottom line is that he's Eastland was very impressive.

  • Last time on has followed it up in France.

  • It's off level waits.

  • Obviously, Um, I just think tiger roll Yeah.

  • Is today the day for tiger roll on?

  • Maybe they'll just leave a little bit on him for entry.

  • And given that is a high class rival to take on, that might just take the edge off in a bit disappointed about the easies land price spots.

  • I mean, it's obvious why it's being back to J.

  • P.

  • Obviously got the money on.

  • So there you go.

  • We gotta, we gotta say, Tiger Roll was ridiculously impressive in this race last year, but he's not.

  • He didn't take on a horse as good as Easy Land last year.

  • That has got to be mentioned, and easy Land has come.

  • Come on, one up.

  • Oh, he's obviously very talented.

  • There is a reason force where J.

  • P.

  • McManus bought him.

  • Only thing I would say is that particular Johnson plug a nudie rodeo star like it did last time because I have a few hard mouth didn't for those French horses.

  • They jumped bank from a very young age, so they become nimble and they think they can.

  • When you think Blondie's gonna tumble over here, they can adjust themselves in front.

  • Do you still jump out with the old?

  • The old school whip him into it.

  • So it's one more thing to mention just on the tiger roll thing, he says.

  • There's just two and 1/2 weeks to the Grand National very short brace married to have a very tough race over three mile six and a bit in a cross country when I was trying to make it a more eloquently It's a hell.

  • It's a hell of a thing to do to win that, to win a almost four mile race and then three less than three weeks go win the Grand National.

  • I think if they'd have done it again, the connections they may have looked at trying to get him away from Children.

  • Give him a chase run a month ago, giving him a bit more pressure ties to run in.

  • This has to be done.

  • He has to run in the chase to be qualified to the grand national crazy ruling because you wouldn't last two.

  • But that's that.

  • That's the ruling.

  • I just think that they might have left a little bit work fantastic.

  • I agree.

  • One quickly mention might bite.

  • Great to see him, we discover his former spark over the apparently been loving life over Woods and logs and everything else at home on.

  • I'm sure this will probably Perkins interest up a little bit more.

  • Whether it's enough to actually see moment Front is another matter, So I'm gonna go these land three freezes.

  • I never thought I would hear that with, like, a role in the race.

  • Hopefully, we're all right.

  • Once again, there's some cracking handicaps on the second day of the Children's festival headed by the Coral Cup is plenty in this race as always.

  • I'm actually just gonna know, even go through the race because there are far too many talk about S o tempo.

  • Gonna come to you first.

  • What catches your eye the most?

  • Well, the J.

  • P.

  • McManus team on it is a team squad Dialects of dame, the company in genital horses later.

  • But that race at Leopardstown at the recent festival, I thought was quite interesting.

  • A glint in the soil came flying and on the outside Yeah, build me up.

  • Buttercup and embittered were in the mix in that race as well.

  • I would not be surprised to see those three room.

  • Well, I like the way embittered finished, and I think the extra trip, the extras test of stamina should help excellent and shot without banging the same drum about Willie Mullins.

  • Because I seem to everything I say in defense this year, too soon to have a Willie Mullins name next to it.

  • Nadia, It's hugely interested on his first.

  • What will be his first up for little interest, fifth in the race, like she actually won a novice hurdle here.

  • Children think Barry rode it that day for Dermot.

  • Michael thinks it's right.

  • The old train gets enough to say, Mark, I just had to chase runs.

  • I believe after in his last two runs from his previous trainer to know to protect his mark.

  • I just think this this could be another Willie Mullins Handicap winner of the weekend.

  • They've got to be very closely monitored.

  • And why would you move your horse?

  • Willie Mullins if you finished fifth in the Children festival already, Dona definitely want when they want to win a festival year.

  • So I think that's a massive Got much chance on a huge price.

  • I mean, talking to 66 to 1 honest vic for Henry Daily.

  • If he gets in the race is won two mystery.

  • I think he's massively improve.

  • It likes Children, and I just think you might be able to sneak into a place that big price.

  • Excellent.

  • I'm gonna go with stolen silver.

  • So I think it's gonna be a very good mark for this state on Very Won.

  • The bet for hell's extra distance.

  • I think it's absolutely stupid.

  • Down to the ground.

  • Be every stone.

  • The time before Hayden, which is already good novice form and goes, well, it Sheldon, will you?

  • What?

  • We know that already.

  • And I just think understand.

  • Kristin Davis and National Davis is gonna be a big run from him.

  • Or so column of fire.

  • Who might go for the Muslim population the week where he does go because he's also an entry here.

  • He's gonna be extremely different.

  • He's properly been laid out for the festival this year.

  • I know he's probably Martin Pipe Band, but if he does go here, is just worth giving you mentioned because he's gonna have a chance where he goes on this kind of race.

  • Having Bean third over three miles last time out on his handicap debut When you're in 1/4 and a good race dropped back slightly in trip here over two months, five is gonna be seriously tough to be.

  • So I hope he does go here rather than Martin Pipe, but we'll see but stolen.

  • So we've been made.

  • When I was like a glint in the story of you mentioned already, I think she's got a really good chance of that cracking run last time.

  • Out s Oh, yes, students of me is my May 1 simple gait.

  • Think I'll lean towards embittered?
