  • Good evening, and welcome to the prick tease edition of technology after dark.

  • I'm your host, Eric Landy.

  • I think we're gonna go straight away to the tank for reactions at the tank.

  • Gentlemen, take it over.

  • Oh, did we have a Nao?

  • Well, moment, Chris.

  • It was going everybody.

  • I'm here with a guy J.

  • Alexander, 46 to conform to a super sexy man.

  • You can follow me at Christiane Ws er, check in real quick.

  • So a few things.

  • A few thoughts here.

  • Wait.

  • Hold on.

  • Are we on air?

  • Let's see off air.

  • Uh, it says we're alive, but the youth you think isn't showing up in the chat has any knowledge that we exist yet.

  • Oh, okay.

  • We'll just go.

  • If it's all for not know whenever we will go for it.

  • So first, I mean, guys, what do you think?

  • The crowd and I thought it was kind of lackluster.

  • Wasn't much of a crowd.

  • No, it definitely felt like you're attending a beer league game.

  • It just kind of scene.

  • And I mean, with the teams that were playing tonight, kind of seemed like that.

  • They were there was bad eyes, you know, bad luck.

  • And that's what led to the sharks loss and then the atmosphere tonight, man, it felt like Barrack Witter name one game on Monday night.

  • I mean, yeah, I don't know what you think.

  • Yeah, definitely.

  • They said it was a few 100 short of salad, but they're definitely looked like there was a lot empty seats tonight.

  • But top of bad ice, I think you gotta go with face our loss in critical times either in their zone or on the power play.

  • Very critical and not.

  • Yeah, Dad, that was bouncy pucks.

  • But also, there were times.

  • I mean, I think the sharks thoroughly outplayed them.

  • But there were times the sharks did not take the simple, simple plays that could have made.

  • Like where they could thrown it back down deep.

  • They tried to make a risky backhand pass that turned into a high turnover going the other way.

  • Um, but you know, some sets, them's the breaks.

  • I'm not that upset lady pretty well again.

  • I think you'll find I think if they if they could just manage to put a little bit better than you managed.

  • Basil, I know this is becoming a drinking game with us every time we mentioned face off losses and everything.

  • But I think yes.

  • Desert dogs?

  • No, but I think that if it wasn't for that one unlucky balance where it went over plastic stick and brawn stick at the you know, the minute five seconds left in the game.

  • You know, we would have seen this game going over time, but unfortunately, it's just it goes right on 20 to stick, and it goes in the net.

  • So bad.

  • Look, look.

  • Yeah, just quickly to wrap things up.

  • It just seemed like they were lax two days early on with four day layoff.

  • They definitely didn't look like they were up to the challenge right away.

  • And I want to take advantage of that getting those two quick als early first.

  • And unfortunately, it was too little, too late, but they had to come back.

  • And then everything just seemed to be mixed up, including, like we said on the basement life.

  • The D court was all mixed up tonight too.

  • All right, Thanks, guys.

  • Oh, God.

  • Here, check out our little broadcast on Facebook.

  • Like us on Facebook.

  • If you don't like what college you're ready.

  • These are guys.

  • Well, ah, as I was introducing and I guess we weren't live.

  • This is PETN, ology after dark, the prick tease addition where they tease you with going toe over time with one minute left in the game and apparently piss it away.

  • Uh, anyhow, uh, we are live, and we're doing this for the viewers, and we're doing it for everybody else.

  • So please send us some questions and we can get them on air and talk about them.

  • I'm at Eric Landy.

  • There's at Rocket back.

  • Our backhander 76.

  • Excuse me.

  • And at Drew.

  • Ever.

  • Um, so I mean, overall, What was your guys?

  • Just opinion of the game.

  • Just my balls are smashed right now because of that game.

  • Yeah, there's a ball breaker.

  • I feel San Jose dominated the game throughout most of it.

  • I mean, you go into your analytics.

  • Uh, yes, I have the time run there.

  • I think to me less than five minutes and mention analytics out.

  • Courses them.

  • 78 to 36.

  • Scoring chances were 27 9 in favour of San Jose.

  • Oh, is that so bad?

  • Puck luck?

  • Ottawa did a good job collapsing on condom.

  • They also dominated the neutral zone throughout a good portion of the game too.

  • So, uh, yeah, I'm still pissed, though I don't look, I imagine that at this point it's where a.

  • J would say on you know this is Otto was back up, Golding.

  • And you know how we do against your backup goaltender.

  • That had to be the Sharks Kryptonite spot on spot out Rockets pocket spot on.

  • Before we go any further, I just want to give a quick shout out to the spot, sir audible dot com Ah, if you haven't already, please sign up for a trial.

  • Audible dot com hosts over 180,000 audio books.

  • So it's audible dot com slash p 80 and help us out.

  • Help a guy get better Internet because you know what?

  • We're always looking for ways to get put God better Internet, and that's our shameless plug for the night.

  • Um, look, I mean, honestly, the sharks had fits and starts throughout that entire game.

  • I think you really saw the d cor and especially that plastic bron pair get victimized a little bit tonight.

  • I felt Braun was not making good decisions with the puck.

  • I I placed a lot of blame on him.

  • Actually, there were quite a few times where he beat the clock instead of making a quick up past.

  • And plastic also looked uncharacteristic tonight.

  • It looked like just both of them were mentally a step slower tonight.

  • Um and I think ultimately it cost them the game at least.

  • Qassam.

  • One point.

  • Yeah.

  • The four days off doesn't do you any favors.

  • I wasn't huge on Velazquez and Brawn tonight either.

  • I wasn't a huge fan into mellows game.

  • De Mello had the turnover in the defensive zone that led to that Carl single.

  • No, but that's what's gonna happen when you have four days offering to be a bit rusty.

  • I mean, overall, I think the forward core played well.

  • Um, that last goal, I think was a little weak.

  • Bye bye, Jones.

  • Who statistically did not have a great night tonight.

  • Um, yeah, we look at it.

  • Martin Jones saw if we get the stats updated.

  • Thank you.

  • NHL dot com.

  • 15 shots.

  • Yeah, Yeah.

  • 15 16 shots, 13 saves.

  • That's good for a point 813 goals again, our state percent.

  • Excuse me and yeah, just not The first goal wasn't his fault.

  • I think the second goal is debatable, but that third goal should have gone in it.

  • It hit him on the shoulder.

  • He should have been ableto at least deflect it out a little bit.

  • Maur.

  • It was kind of a weak goal.

  • In my opinion of plastic.

  • I don't think in that last goal had his stick to the ice defending very well.

  • He kind of He kind of gave Chris Kelly and an outlaw outlet to make a good shot.

  • And I think ultimately it was just those mental lapses that just cost them custom.

  • At least a point in the standings tonight.

  • And when you've got Ah, Anaheim already getting a point, and I think they went to the shootout and the final, and that is Carolina five, Anaheim six.

  • The works.

  • Yeah, they roar back from a two goal deficit in the third period.

  • And here come the duckies again.

  • So, a rocket.

  • I mean, what was your overall feeling of the Defense Corps tonight?

  • I felt that the D cor gave it their all.

  • But they were disjointed by the absence of Schlemko.

  • I don't know if he like, maybe is there.

  • I don't know.

  • Like, they're kind of their bond, their their base of of who they need to hear from before they'll feel good.

  • But they definitely felt like they were missing something, so I would think it's him.

  • So wait a minute.

  • So are we saying that the hunter prints of the Sharks Defense Corps is now Schlemko?

  • I don't know anything about bowling.

  • Sorry.

  • Uh, rock it back.

  • And her, Ladies and gentlemen, Rocket backhander.

  • Always always singing those those ones past us.

  • We love her on, you know, and you work with a J strong.

  • You have toe Thio quickly.

  • Yeah, Yeah, it's like running with the Bulls, you know?

  • Yes, it is.

  • It's gonna be a like your know, that scene in Indian and Jones and the Temple of Doom, where he's got that giant boulder that's chasing after him.

  • It's sort of like a Jay's the boulder, and you have to be Indiana Jones at all times and just keep going.

  • Otherwise you just get smooth.

  • That is definitely a semi accurate description of a distraught said the lab said as much left, um, and we get we've got Phantom 24.

  • Um, I don't know if you're new to the chat, but welcome.

  • And Schlemko has been super solid.

  • First on that third d pair.

  • Yeah, he waas um and, you know, I think the strongest deep hair was the burns, um, was three burns Martin pair.

  • I mean, I think night in night out there, they're normally one of the stronger deep pairs.

  • But I actually liked Dylan's game tonight.

  • It seemed like he was making some real good up passes.

  • He actually caught Pavelski on a breakaway, which it was a a really, really good save by Condon.

  • And you know what?

  • For the most part, I really like Dylan's game.

  • I think.

  • Besides Burns and Martin, he was the next strongest defenseman out of the quarter night.

  • Then I'd probably put de Mello and then plastic and, um, Bronn.

  • I mean, blast abroad just had a horrible game tonight and really, I mean, it was defensive lapses by then that cost them the point.

  • And who knows, You know, you go in overtime, it's anybody's game, maybe two points.

  • So right now, just kind of quickly going over the standings.

  • The Sharks still earn second place, but I believe now we're tied.

  • Yes, that is correct.

  • We're not tied with Anaheim for that second spot.

  • We still retain the second spot because of Rose and ah, games played, but still.

  • I mean, it's a little disappointing You had a night to to gain on Edmonton.

  • Um, and really, you know, take possession of first place again and have games and end, and they blew it, you know, they blew it in in in the third with a minute to go.

  • And it was just kind of uncharacteristic of this team.

  • You know, this team is normally really locked down in the third period, normally is able to get their their shit done and able to really, you know, just play a solid defensive game and you've got your you've got your pluggers out.

  • I'm not pluggers, but you've got your most sturdy defence corps and defense pair out there and they're not.

  • They're not ableto hold down at least securing a point.

  • It's a little disappointing.

  • Um, it's one of those games, you know, hope Game 81.

  • You don't look back at this one and say, Man, those two points could have gotten this 3rd 3rd place instead of a wild card or could've gotten a second place instead of third place.

  • So I think it's just a opportunity squandered and, yeah, I don't know.

  • It just kind of leaves you with a bitter taste in your mouth, especially with how they came out in the third and really tied it up and wrestled the momentum away.

  • It's a ball breaker place and my balls artist crushed right now.

  • This is what happens on on on on.

  • Ryder.

  • Sherman, I could say whatever the hell I want A A.

  • Not every Pooh you take is going to be a satisfying one.

  • You just need to wipe yourself and move on, and hopefully the next one will satisfy you.

  • So, uh, the yeah, I think I think Rocket sums it up best there and and I think, you know, just kind of going over the stats.

  • I mean, the sharks on the statute that thoroughly outplayed them.

  • I mean, 37 shots on goal to 17.

  • I mean, that's that's kind of roughing up the senator's a little bit.

  • The face off percentage sharks win 55% of 45 sharks go one for six on the power play.

  • I think if you look at squandered opportunities, you look at that power play and you go, you know that maybe maybe two out of the six power place had some really good looks.

  • The other four just looked like there wasn't any kind of gas in the tank.

  • And that first unit, But the power place been dead since the beginning of this season.

  • Basically, it has.

  • It has.

  • And so you start to wonder is it may be time to break up the gang for at least a game, you know?

  • I mean, unfortunately, you don't have hurdle pinning down that second power play unit, so it really neuters them.

  • So it's not like you can just place the second power play unit on instead of the first unit.

  • So it might be time to shuffle the deck a little bit, You know, maybe you are you gonna put out their Hayley de Mello Melker and Pavelski of OSI's on that?

  • Oh, you're saying like when we shuffle the decks?

  • Yeah.

  • I mean, I like the idea of maybe putting ward out instead of Marlo.

  • You get a little bit more of a net front presence there.

  • You shift Pavelski to the, um, that left side defensive kind of spot.

  • You know, he has played that point spot before.

  • Um, and you've got You've got Logan.

  • You could take a quick shot, You got paths and you've got burns, and then you have just, ah, just a big kind of roadblock in front of goalie screening.

  • You know, maybe maybe it's time to do that.

  • Maybe it's timeto put Marlow down, centering that second power play unit and see if you can't get something sparked there.

  • Um, right now, that second unit with with Bacher and Don score kind of trying to channel the the offense through them is not working.

  • And to be quite honest, classic should not be on that second power play, you know, tonight.

  • I mean, it was pretty pretty apparent tonight that most of his shots were getting blocked on the point and just really, whenever the offensive play went through him, it kind of just died out a little bit.

  • I mean, am I off base?

  • Guys, Or do you think?

  • Do you know where do you think that classic should be on that second?

  • The thing is, who do you put there instead?

  • Because I wouldn't want to move like you're saying you want to move provoked.

  • See the point kind of thing.

  • I don't know if I want to take Kovalski out from in front of the next.

  • That's where that's where he makes his money is by deflecting those pucks.

  • Uh, someone I would like to see on the power play.

  • Morris Chris tyranny, though, because he has like, he if he has space and hell, even if he doesn't have space.

  • He is a fantastic playmaker, but they put him so much on the penalty kill.

  • But they don't reward him at all by giving him time on the power play.

  • Meanwhile, Bacher and don school we haven't done shit this season are again And this power play time that should goto players like tyranny like le Banque, people who are producing, we're bored them for their hard work.

  • Yeah, I totally agree.

  • I think the bank has kind of earned, um a spot to at least show what he can do on that power play unit.

  • You know, maybe you put him, um you put him with Tierney and maybe you put him with Donskoy.

  • I still like Donskoy is game on that second unit because I really like the chemistry with him and Hurdle, you know, they it seemed like that second unit was really nipping at the heels of the first unit for power play time at the very beginning of the season.

  • Um, up until that hurdle injury.

  • But right now, I mean, it's it's just it's stale, and I know that we've seen this power Playing at the top unit has been together for so long.

  • I mean, we know it kind of ebbs and flows, but still, I mean, one for six is not going to get it done tonight, and especially if you're going to give up a power play goal from your p k.

  • You know, you've got to win the special teen battle.

  • And ultimately, I think that's one of the reasons why they didn't skate out with any points tonight.

  • Yeah, power plays definitely disappointing.

  • You know, if you have six opportunities, you'd like to convert at least on two of them.

  • If not more, especially when your team as talented a San Jose you've got the best pass on the world in Jo Thorn.

  • You've got Brent Burns on your blue line.

  • You should be scoring like nothing on the power play.

  • And just this season, for some reason, just has not been coming together.

  • Rocket.

  • I mean, that's that's a good point.

  • I mean, we've kind of seen Jumbo's point pace kind of kind of grind to a halt.

  • But what do you think is kind of going on with that first power play?

  • You know, I can't tell if they're all right.

  • So here's the deal that par places like we get super frustrated his fans when they overpass.

  • But at the same time, it's really frustrating.

  • If they underpass take a shot, that's really not a scoring opportunity.

  • It takes the bad bounce.

  • They get the odd man rush and, hey, guess who scores?

  • Not us.

  • And that's more apt toe happen when it's not past enough.

  • Uh, so, like, they're just waiting for good opportunities, and maybe they need younger, fresher eyes to find faster opportunities.

  • I don't know how else to say it, but there's some old eyes on that line and maybe, like some newer ideas, put the young kids on.

  • That's what I think.

  • Yeah, I mean, I think I think you bring up a good point.

  • I mean, it looks as if Joe has kind of lost a step.

  • Um, you know, I think for the most part, you you kind of see him now kind of eat the puck a little bit more instead of making that that fancy break out that he normally does.

  • Um, I've kind of noticed that in the last 10 games it just kind of looks like he's just one.

  • Maybe not even one step, like 1/2 step slow.

  • He takes an extra half second before he makes is really pretty past.

  • You can still make the past, but I think it's just that it's for whatever reason, this is some kind of timing thing with them.

  • And we saw it last year, too.

  • I mean, we saw it at the beginning of the year when he kind of, you know, they didn't come out and say it, but I think Jumbo had a concussion, you know, and we kind of saw the similar a similar thing where you just looked a little slow.

  • And then he just turned it on in the second half, and it was like nothing ever happened.

  • You didn't step pieces.

  • Old and cranky.

  • Holden cranky about Paul Martin.

  • Yeah.

  • Yeah.

  • Jumbo is older than Paul Martin will have, you know.

  • And I'm older than both of them.

  • So I should know better.

  • I'm younger than almost all of them.

  • Yeah, Yeah, I women.

  • So is it you or is it Felix?

  • That's the youngest on our on.

  • Our little covert.

  • Felix is younger than me.

  • I think by, like, four months.

  • Because I'm July of 94.

  • I think Felix might be like Felix was November because you just had a birthday.

  • Ah, right.

  • I graduated high school in 96.

  • Uh, well, I mean, technology has, uh, people and ages of all ranges here, and, you know, it gives us different perspectives.

  • Sometimes you gotta have those veterans to give you that good perspective.

  • Just the new ones to get creative and do just ask Puck guy.

  • Sorry, but, um just kind of running through the numbers real quick kind of the time on ice, we kind of like I always like to go break that down forward by forward.

  • So in the forward department, you had Pavelski and Jumbo clocking in at about 21 minutes a piece you had, I could Sure, with 19 minutes.

  • Those were your were your forward leaders tonight.

  • Uh, Patrick Marleau had 2042 as well, so it was really top heavy tonight.

  • We kind of expected that with the team trailing under fence, you had burns.

  • He clocking in at 26.

  • 46 you had Mark Edward plastic it 23 minutes, Justin Braun at 2049 and Dylan and de Mello had had 12 minutes.

  • So no devore again.

  • You know, it's starting to rely a little bit too much on the big guns again, and I'd like to see a little bit better distribution.

  • I mean, I know they just came off for four days rest, but still, you want to keep keep some gas left in the tank at the end of the season, especially if this team has aspirations of going deep again.

  • I think a lot of that is because he's trying to shelter de Mello, and I don't think he has too But I think that's what he's doing.

  • Because if Schlemko is playing there with Dylan, Dylan's going to get 16 17 a night.

  • Ah, but when he has to mellow, there's a little bit of lack of trust there, you know?

  • That's why they go down to 12 minutes and relying more heavily on up on the Burns.

  • Martin blasted Braun pairings, said the classic Brown pairing doesn't work very well.

  • If you ever work them like if you give them extended minutes, it doesn't work.

  • What do you know this from last season?

  • Oh, no.

  • And I think Rocket brings up.

  • A great point is it's that blast.

  • It has always been a defenseman who is good at about 20 minutes or below.

  • I think any more than that and you do start to see him make those mental mistakes.

  • You do start to see him tire out a little bit because of just how defensively aware he is in his own zone and that could be really Taxi.

  • Whereas you have a guy like Burns a little bit more free spirited, it doesn't feel like he's got the burden of being like the defense of rock.

  • So his his minutes are a little bit more freewheeling, you know?

  • And it doesn't feel it doesn't feel as taxing to be in the offensive zone and really, you know, just kind of, you know, free will in it.

  • So I definitely agree with Rocket on that point.

  • And I don't know, I just tonight that just did not look great.

  • You know, then and broad.

  • Poor Brown.

  • I mean, he was He was just not not doing it tonight.

  • Not great.

  • So, unfortunately, I think it was this this one you can pin on the deep hair, And, um I mean, like I said, Martin Jones that that last school, he had a shoulder on it.

  • And in my opinion, if you get even a little piece of body on it, that means you should have made the safe.

  • What do you think you're I think I think Jones should have that safe.

  • I didn't like the way he was squared up to it because with elastic being draped over with Kelly, Uh, with last 15 draped over Kelly, the way is Kelly can't go to his backhand.

  • So Jones should recognize that, But the way he was playing it he was still Square Thio as if he could go to the back.

  • And I think it needs to take away more of the right side of the net there because he can't go anywhere else.

  • Plastic house, the other side covered.

  • Yeah.

  • No, I definitely agree.

  • So in that particular instance, I think that and and I know slushies just going crazy in the chat with the I thinks, um, honestly, I feel like if Jones would have played the side that classic didn't have covered, he could have been a little bit more square to the shot.

  • Like you were saying, Drew, I guess, Overall, what do you think about the offensive output Rocket?

  • I mean, I think this team, it's still kind of floundering in the offensive zone, and it's just not generating enough offense.

  • Oh, this is good.

  • This is a good, uh, good question because they are still the lowest scoring team so far this season, aren't they?

  • They they still haven't broken five.

  • That's the only team that was broken.

  • Yeah, that's thes weird stats.

  • I think that goes to speak towards their system of, um, keeping more, just playing more of a defensively minded game across both the offensive and defensive pairs.

  • Ah, just to keep everybody When I said, This is the other day on the technologist podcast, which all should catch weekly.

  • It's great show it has me.

  • And some of the people were great.

  • They were.

  • I talked about how what they're kind of doing is creating an entire little clone army of Brent Burns, defensively minded forwards and forwardly minded defenseman.

  • So what?

  • That was for my benefit.

  • You know, whatever.

  • It's offensively minded blue liners there has that.

  • I know what I'm saying and you're saying it weird, you know?

  • Yeah, I know.

  • Like I just so like, everybody is sort of on the same page, even though they know what their primary position and, um, responsibility is they all?

  • I kind of know that they need to carry both ends of the weight, and I think they're really adapting to doing that.

  • They're getting a lot of defensive coverage and there hasn't been several blowouts have they're, like, one or two?

  • Um, I think Pittsburgh game goddammit!

  • Keeps saying, I think, um uh, Pittsburgh game was a five.

  • Nothing spanking.

  • And I know how that is a blowout.

  • Yes.

  • I don't think they've had got David.

  • Why don't you sit is in your nature, Landy?

  • I guess I think a lot.

  • Um, has there been a game where they've They've let the opposing team score more than five?

  • Ah, yeah, Rangers.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • Seem like there haven't really been that many high scoring games on the other side.

  • So I think that that that talks about See, I'm saying to you, I believe that that is a testament to the kind of defensive system that the trucks are running and they're running at heart.

  • I'm not upset at this.

  • It's this lost, whatever.

  • I'd be interested.

  • Yeah, I tend to agree.

  • I would be really interested to see what the scoring output was of a Peter to board team in the first year versus its second year.

  • And I would wonder if maybe the defensive minded system that he plants in the first season doesn't fully take hold until the second season.

  • And you kind of see that there offensive output drops.

  • And I'd be really be really curious if it if that is kind of a trend, because it seems like their defense is much more locked down this year than it was last year.

  • But I also think that they're kind of stifling a little bit of creativity.

  • Maybe a little too much.

  • Drew, What do you What do you think?

  • Well, right now the sharks of the number one defensive team in the NHL, I think that they have the lowest goals against per game at like just over two.

  • I want to say it's like 2.1 if you go over.

  • All Sharks have allowed 55 goals in 26 games.

  • That's third best in the NHL behind Minnesota and Columbus.

  • Columbus Fire, by the way, Holy hell!

  • Ah, I wish what I mean.

  • The sharks they're scoring is going to pick up there right now.

  • They're shooting at below 8%.

  • There's no way in hell a team.

  • This skill is going to shoot below 8% for an entire season.

  • It's kind of pick up.

  • I talk about like PDO regression every goddamn day because it never fucking regresses.

  • But soon enough it will regress and the sharks will be scoring a lot more.

  • I look at many chances they had today that didn't fucking go for him.

  • It's like the whole season's been well, I wouldn't be regressing.

  • It would be progressing to the mean correct I could redress anymore than they are.

  • Dear God, I hope they don't regress more.

  • Do you progressed?

  • May have looked that up.

  • Now I've only heard regress.

  • They need to go backwards.

  • Yeah.

  • Age.

  • A strong timing in Landes, I think is asked to Ian Reed's, you know, uh uh, Zach Divine saying, Eric dropping the knowledge.

  • I'm Landy.

  • Eric is but guy.

  • So you know, I thank you for calling me by my name, but I've always been landing because there's always been multiple Eriks, wherever I go.

  • So high, Zach, Is that another good one that came in from a J.

  • Darrel Stephens tweets out.

  • He retweeted Darrin Stephens.

  • Uncle Darren, if you guys don't know shirts Dominate Shot attempts 78 to 36.

  • Aided by 10 minutes of 19 seconds of power play time.

  • Even shots on goal were 24 to 13 in favor of San Jose.

  • So and that's pretty crazy.

  • I mean, 78 shot attempts and we look at the the number of shots on goal.

  • That's 37.

  • So 21 blocks for the Senators.

  • And going into this game, we knew that the senators gave up a lot of shots, but I didn't think it was this bad.

  • Now, the other thing that I would really like to see is thespian chart of the sharks.

  • If it was, um, what people have been saying that Ottawa tends to push out the shocks to the exterior.

  • I believe going into the game, they gave up the longest distant shots.

  • Meaning they on average, they give up the longest distance shots.

  • So I'd be interested to see where the sharks shot.

  • Selection came from tonight.

  • I'm pulling that up right now.

  • Actually, probably a bar, whatever.

  • Top shelf tequila they have.

  • Maybe that's where they shot it.

  • There.

  • That's coming from exactly.

  • Let's do, like, a screen share this usually screen share.

  • So bear with me on this.

  • I do have the, uh, the stranger the spread chart of Ah.

  • All right.

  • Am I sharing it?

  • Uh, you Are you okay?

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • So, I mean, actually, a lot of shots coming in from that low slide area.

  • Uh, a lot.

  • A lot of that, though, is off of the rebounds and stuff.

  • like that.

  • We saw a lot of opportunities.

  • Where pucks are in the crease.

  • Shark serve jamming.

  • Attic condom comes up with saver.

  • Ottawa's defense bails him out.

  • Strangely enough, though, all three of the shark schools, which are the ones in green, Uh, all outside of the face off dots.

  • They're all behind the hash marks.

  • Meanwhile, Ottawa's all in the slot, but different levels in the slot.

  • I think church only scored two tonight.

  • Um, I do have a backwards, Uh, what is this?

  • Goal scored.

  • Goals scored.

  • Why not?

  • There's an Ottawa go on the shark side.

  • Uh, yeah, about that.

  • See?

  • Empty netter.

  • Okay.

  • Gotcha.

  • Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • Thanks for calling in there.

  • I was like, What the hell?

  • Huh s so you can see.

  • I mean, the shark spray chart is actually pretty good.

  • I mean it.

  • So it doesn't look like it's all parliament or base shots.

  • Which was the m o of the Ottawa Senators going into the night.

  • So I don't know.

  • You just gotta wonder.

  • Is it Is it just not crashing the net enough?

  • Or is it not making you know, better shot selections?

  • You know, maybe not enough pre scouting on condom.

  • I mean, Drew.

  • What?

  • What do you think?

  • It's Ah, to's defense in this case.

  • Like I said, a lot of time Senators did a great job of collapsing in on condom to bail him out.

  • How many times do we see the puck loosen the crease and the Sharks are jamming at it and and you know, the defense clears it out kind of thing.

  • So you got to give credit where credit is due, The defense and for the senator's really, really bailed out their goaltender today.

  • Yeah, and Zach Charming in Condon has a very good quick pads down.

  • Condon has been very good and he gets us quick, gets his pads down quick.

  • So I mean, you know, the sharks have always traditionally been a low shooting.

  • I mean, low on the goalie shooting team.

  • They don't.

  • I mean, sometimes they go high, but most of the time it's a lot of belly shots and a lot of shots around the pads.

  • You know, that's kind of been the knock on them.

  • So, you know, I think the other thing he kind of got a wonder is maybe mixing up the shot selection a little bit, you know, because right now, there Oh, and we're joined by Kevin Lacey.

  • Ah, shit.

  • This isn't writer's room.

  • Oh, it won't be in on Sunday.

  • I I am.

  • So I'm not angry, but I'm just like, disappointed, have No, I'm not even disappointed because I thought the sharks played great tonight.

  • To be honest, I thought the shirts completely dominated.

  • Even when they were down, two to nothing.

  • I thought the shorts played their butts off.

  • They were working hard tonight, but that referee is it is reason to 20 two's everywhere, e I was wondering.

  • I was wondering when this was going to devolve into Let's talk about the ref.

  • So I guess this is a good a time as any ladies and gentlemen, we are, you know, have the distinct pleasure of welcoming Kevin Lacey on E uh, under the show tonight.

  • Turtleneck and all.

  • I was their lives, so of course I had to rock it out.

  • Uh, thank you for having me.

  • Guys, ladies and gentleman, we we welcome everybody to put Nala gee after dark.

  • I guess it's an invasion of the writer's room.

  • No, I really I really thought the sharks worked hard.

  • I mean, I really liked I don't know how to bores Management was over the roster because I did see Drew that you tweeted out that Haley was getting no ice time that whole game.

  • But I did think that the young guys were getting a real solid opportunity to nightly Tierney was getting power play minutes.

  • What bank was on the penalty kill?

  • I mean, it was nice to see that that it wasn't just the top guys getting the special teams minutes tonight.

  • And I thought the shark split Really good.

  • Yeah, they didn't score on the power play, but I thought they played role being quickly.

  • I mean, what did you think of the shot selection tonight?

  • Um, the shot selection.

  • You know, I heard you guys talking right before I jumped on about.

  • It seemed like they were shooting from far out.

  • And I did notice that my Condon was just giving a rebound after rebound after rebound with one thing that I didn't like that I saw from the shorts tonight was that they were going from that for the home run, play an awful lot, and it wasn't working out for them and I mean granted, Yeah, you know, you never know that one time might be it, but it never happened tonight, so I would have liked to see him mix it up a little bit.

  • Maura's first, their entry goes, but the effort was there for sure.

  • And and yes, princess, You know what I mean?

  • I've been so close to saying my com condom all night tonight, so, you know, thanks for, you know, thanks for now.

  • But implanting at into my brain, I wish the sharks could have broken my condom tonight.

  • I'm sorry, Rocket.

  • Quickly.

  • I wanted to talk to you about just the overall officiating tonight.

  • What did you think of the officiating?

  • Ah, it pays to be in the right position.

  • All right?

  • Because no matter how much you see, you have to see the beginning of it.

  • You have to watch it happen, and you have to see the end of it.

  • If you only catch two parts of that, you can call it even if you catch the middle in the end.

  • If you know how it started, he can't catch who initiated and and how it started.

  • You can't call it and that's just disappointing.

  • And your cool.

  • We're looking at a bunch of other shit that was going on.

  • It wasn't like it was just some fucking polar bears and of tumbleweed that they were staring at dipshit.

  • There's a goddamn hockey game going on.

  • Yeah, sure, kid.

  • Sure.

  • Getting drilled into the net and it's like that should have that should have gotten the officials, you know, you right there and then the crunch in the back of the head.

  • But he didn't He didn't have a good vantage point from where does this body positioning?

  • All he could see were like legs and thighs and whatever else comes into chicken bucket.

  • Ah, he couldn't see you know who initiated what kind of contact into the net from his angle you And that's not what he was looking at.

  • I mean, that's not what he was like watching, and he shouldn't happen.

  • Ah, it was just unfortunate in crap like that happens.

  • And that's why it's it's it's tough to be in a visual.

  • Yeah, you know, I think Oh, there it is.

  • Take a drink.

  • Talk.

  • Ah, I'm timing it on the chat saying I look forward to that game.

  • Polar bears were so tumbleweeds Go the night.

  • Look, you call 10 penalties in the game.

  • I mean, if you're counting both the number of penalties from both sides, 10 penalties and it's 6 to 4 in favor of the Sharks.

  • So in my mind, 10 penalties is too much.

  • You're basically spending 20 minutes of a 60 minute game in Power play or P K.

  • So if you're gonna be really selective about the calls that you make, you need to make the egregious place and you need to call those out that Bobby Ryan hit to Logan could.

  • Sure, I did not like.

  • I also thought that the fun of Spear on Carlson was kind of bullshit.

  • And I think if Carlson would every God damn it, if Carlson would have, ah would have retaliated.

  • He would have gotten the penalty there and for no for two just skated away.

  • And we know that that that's enough skin, you know, he's always had it.

  • He's always been a big douche bag.

  • I mean that that's his game.

  • But still, I wish that the officials would kind of take a look at that and be like, Hey, you know what?

  • That doesn't belong in this game.

  • You know, people don't need to be getting speared and junk all the time.

  • What you guys think about, I think Carlson's balls are more broken than mine at this point.

  • Oh, they make equipment for that kind of thing.

  • I I honestly, I didn't hate the officiating.

  • The Finnish Spear is the one that I was like.

  • You got a call that the Bobby Ryan hit on Could.

  • Sure, maybe I didn't watch it again.

  • I didn't think it was dirty.

  • I thought it was incidental Contact Ryan trying to tie up that.

  • Sure, I may need to take another look at that, but I mean, from what I saw, that's what I thought of it.

  • Ah, the Marlowe interference penalty is a softer call, but it's the right call cause the puck had not gotten there yet.

  • Marlowe just played the body, but I think that's a 50 50 call again.

  • Shit on in the it wasn't it.

  • If you look on amazon dot com right now, I'm pretty sure if you type in front of Spear, there's an entire line of adults products that will come up all balls years.

  • It's a whole different kind of turtlenecks.

  • I e.

  • I just I love how a J just kind of Sprinkles that little bit of commentary and just it has been shown in the chat for, like, ever been shown in the hangout for, like, 20 minutes.

  • Now, things first thing he said, Oh, uh, Kevin, your bottle a j a.

  • J corrected me that the shorts did get a powerfully goal, but he didn't chime in on the Che sent me a text.

  • This is saying you could've just said having you're wrong, But, uh, you know, I'm glad you brought up the Mara local cause.

  • The Mar local, I thought was an excellent Cole.

  • I was probably the one Shark span in the arena that wasn't yelling, refuse.

  • Suck on that.

  • And then and then the kid sure thing happened, and I completely turned on the guy.

  • But, you know, the officiating, I thought was fine up until that point.

  • And it's just disappointing that the Sharks played the way they played and they couldn't even get one point out of it.

  • I do want to know you guys were talking about for enough and everything.

  • I didn't see that live.

  • So what happened with enough?

  • But a spirit Carlson in the balls.

  • Oh, great.

  • Look, was that it was It was pretty nice.

  • I mean, you saw Tierney set up Karlsson with it with a nice redirect.

  • Okay, I remember that condom makes a great save.

  • And then, if enough proceeds to take his stick and shove it right in, Okay.

  • Milkers Carlson that was out with Was that when Carlson went down like, Okay, I looked over.

  • Kind of gave him five hole.

  • It's sort of like keep He was playing hamburger and he just got against Bachelors are over.

  • I don't remember if it was like a reddit and May or if it was, like a silent survey or something by the NHL players.

  • But far enough was always tagged as a guy who likes to spear and likes to hit people in the nuts when you're not looking.

  • I mean, he's always had that reputation.

  • Everybody has that one friend.

  • Exactly.

  • Exactly.

  • You know that one friend that loves the sap.

  • Tak sap.

  • Zach, tap you.

  • That's that's far enough.

  • And wow, that comment was Sepp tacular.

  • Yeah.

  • Oh, dear God, I just wish that the NHL would really come down on that kind of shit because it's just it's not needed.

  • I mean, like, What the fuck just not needed?

  • You can't do that accidentally, says the guy who's lower.

  • Third says balls.

  • Hey, hey, I like mine.

  • It was balls tonight, though.

  • All right, all right, The way the way it was, it was such a prick.

  • Tease the Sharks prick.

  • Tease me tonight.

  • It really did may.

  • Whatever.

  • It's December, the earliest.

  • Yeah, and rock.

  • It puts it into perspective.

  • It's just too spent December people, you know.

  • What if the playoffs ended today?

  • If the playoffs started today, the way the playoffs edited Van, be very disappointed.

  • If the playoffs started today, you would have Edmonton.

  • Leading the Pacific Division said, is a.

  • It's second place the Ducks and third place Calgary in the number one wilds wild card spot.

  • And to put guys joy win a pink would be in the second look.

  • But why no.

  • Over in the central Chicago, of course, leads the central ST Louis is in second place, and Minnesota, Eric's other of love affair, is in third place going over into the Eastern Conference Pittsburgh leads the Metro Sexual Division.

  • Oh, excuse me.

  • Metro Politan division with 35 points.

  • The Rangers have 35 months.

  • Well, they can't go facial hair.

  • Columbus Unbelievably.

  • Still hanging on to that third spot in the Atlantic.

  • Montreal, Ottawa in Boston.

  • I mean, Idol in Boston.

  • Who would have put them in the playoff picture?

  • But, hey, it's it's December people Washington in the first wildcard spot.

  • And Philadelphia, believe it or not, is in.

  • Yeah, yeah!

  • Oh, yeah.

  • Ee yeah e decorate your laundry Christian sites.

  • Well, it's funny you say that, but I do have some, Like, bringing your boxers and, you know, some other stuff I could probably hang around.

  • There may be.

  • And what is Rudolph's red nose when you're wearing those last ornaments, you know, does some his balls, class balls, Just like football.

  • All right, all right.

  • Chester, if you're watching, you could, like, just photoshopped some glass balls right around.

  • Oh, my God.

  • Uh, yeah, Exactly.

  • So you gotta have, like, balls, tinsel and an angel.

  • That's that is your, uh that is your job tonight.

  • You're in a traditional Andy.

  • You just don't.

  • You have a tree in a pile of laundry.

  • Yeah.

  • Put presents under the bed.

  • Who knows what hides under the laundry?

  • Nobody knows could be present.

  • It could be presence Or could be balls.

  • If you're not, do you get balls?

  • Uh oh.

  • Uh, Gentry Gentry Timing in it is the NBC division also known as the Nothing but Crosby Division, which was so acceptable Yes, yes, Also acceptable.

  • Um, I like I mean, really, I think overall the general trend that I'm seeing from the sharks, we still gotta worry about face offs and offense.

  • And we've been saying it for the last 10 games.

  • You know, face offs and offense.

  • When do you guys peg this team toe?

  • Wake up out of its stupor?

  • Soon as Boddicker gets benched?

  • Yeah.

  • Here you go.

  • Shopping like bench Bacher and Jews like he hasn't done anything.

  • What is bonkers doesn't He's gotten chances and hasn't converted on them.

  • He's fucking Matt Neo doing it.

  • I've seen five games this season and I felt like I've made more games and Barker has Yeah, you've got Meyer who's fucking tearing it up in the h l gold.

  • Oh, but I guess is really worked on this defensive game and he might be ready soon.

  • There's so many good people in the minors right now that you could call up Carpenter.

  • Oh, Regan.

  • All of them were playing better than bonkers.

  • Who has four fucking points?

  • You want to say something about the cab and that financially, this is why they haven't really moved him.

  • I mean, you've got that that lt or not.

  • Lt I are.

  • But just I are cap relief right now from Hurdle.

  • So you definitely have the room to move pieces around.

  • As far as that goes, bring in pieces.

  • Upbringing creases down.

  • So from that perspective, the sharks do have some wiggle room.

  • I mean, do you guys think it's time?

  • It's team?

  • Oh, time.

  • I want to s
