In Utah, Governor Gary Herbert is declaring a state of emergency to deal with the novel Corona virus.

Fox thirteen's Ben Winslow is live on Capitol Hill with the latest information.

Ben, Why the declaration?

Well, this just barely happened up here.

The governor declaring a preemptive emergency in order to free up resources t deal with the novel Corona virus.

Now it should be pointed out there are no cases of it here in Utah yet.

But the governor is doing this, of course, to be prepared and to get state resource is and federal resource is ready should this start to hit our state once again.

The governor urging people not to panic.

He But he wants the state to be prepared.

In a statement just issued, the governor says that people need to be smart about cove it 19 Primary thing, of course, being washed your hands of your sick stay home, avoid spreading it to others.

But again, this just barely happening up here on Capitol Hill.

The governor is doing this preemptively to free up state and federal resource is so that the state, as he says it can adequately respond to this.
