  • What's going on?

  • YouTube.

  • Come back at you.

  • Another video.

  • Okay, so we got some interesting news going on with Trippi, Red and D.

  • J.

  • Paul.

  • First of all, if he missed it recently, we heard there was a lawsuit from unnamed Memphis rappers suing D.

  • J.

  • Paul and Juicy J of 36 Mafia for 150 council copyright infringement.

  • So just on the heels of that, now we're hearing there's a separate lawsuit against D.

  • J.

  • Paul in trippy read by a man named Reginald Boil and who is suing over trippy Reds track death.

  • So apparently the song Death uses a sample from D.

  • J.

  • Paul's 1997 Hit a Motherfucker in which Boiling is claiming D.

  • J.

  • Paul no longer owns rights, too.

  • So he's saying, in 2015 there was a settlement with D J Pole.

  • He had sued, claiming that the song hit a motherfucker, sampled his track pimps in the house.

  • So apparently he got rights to the song in this settlement with D.

  • J.

  • Paul D.

  • J.

  • Paul now using the sample on true P read song.

  • So this guy wants a slice of the profits from the song.

  • He's claiming copyright infringement.

  • Oh, this is something that people out there need to be aware of.

  • Especially if you're an artist.

  • You got to be really careful and mindful about what kind of samples air using when it comes to, you know, using beats and making your music.

  • Because if you don't clear samples properly if you don't go through the right channels if you don't, you know, make sure everything is done correctly.

  • This can happen to you.

  • You could be sued.

  • You can basically get dragged into a costly lawsuit.

  • And ultimately, if you're found guilty of copyright infringement, you could be forced to pay.

  • Ah, lot of money.

  • So you gotta be real careful.

  • I would just suggest people out there stay away from samples in general, make your own music make totally authentic music toe where nobody can come back later and say You stole anything from them.

  • You used anything from them?

  • This is, you know, a situation that a lot of people find themselves in.

  • Actually, there was a case, I believe.

  • Um did he where did he used the song or Excuse me?

  • The sample from Sting for the song, I'll be missing.

  • You didn't properly clear.

  • Didn't properly get it, you know, taking care of two where he could legally use it.

  • He ended up having a fork over the profits to sting for that song.

  • Apparently, Sting makes $700,000 a year on that's all alone.

  • So people got to be real mindful.

  • If you're doing music, you know how you're going about doing it.

  • Because if you don't do these things the legal way, it can come back to haunt you.

  • This is an interesting situation with Trippi, Red and D.

  • J Pole.

  • We'll see.

  • You know how this plays out.

  • Moving forward.

  • Interesting.

  • No.

  • Nonetheless, let me know what you guys think in the comments.

  • I appreciate you watching.

  • Hit the like.

  • Subscribe share.

  • Least some feedback.

  • Make sure you bring the notification about two if you're subscribed.

  • I appreciate you, though.
