A Turkish Superleague club hosted a women's game in their main stadium and some would argue it's been long overdue.

Turkish champions Basic Dash played the Spanish champions Atletico Madrid in the Vodafone Cup on the support for the Black Eagles came in their thousands 33,000 to be exact.

But with the Turkish women's first league overshadowed by the men's league, this game carries more significance off the pitch as well as on it.
