  • I don't ever wanna welcome to another video.

  • Now we've checked it out a few times in the past, but today we're taking one last look at Intel's Pentium D C P.

  • You were testing out the 94533.4 gigahertz edition of the chip to see what it can do in 2019 spoiler allowed no much, no, I've always admired the painting day.

  • Essentially, it was to Pentium four trips stuck together, and so performance wasn't really that great when you compared it to the A and the options available at the time.

  • And by today's standards, well, most would consider it absolutely terrible, in my opinion.

  • No, well, it deserves one last shot at life before we retire it from the channel completely.

  • Now, if you've got a socket 775 system, then I think it's fair to say that with the right processes, such as a court to cord, you should still be able to play a few of the latest titles out there, even if you do have to turn the settings down.

  • I've paid my Pentium D with eight gigs of DDR two, and to get the most out of this thing.

  • I've also paid it with Eiji Ticks, 10 70.

  • So let's see what it can really do in 2000 and 19.

  • So, first of all, in center bench or 15 you can see that the Pentium D 945 here clocks in with a similar score to the single court seller on G 4 60 a chip that is a lot newer.

  • Now this trip has hyper threading, so it has one single core but two threads.

  • And the reason I bring this up is because the Pentium D just has to course and no hyper threading.

  • There were some Pentium fours that had hyper 30 but even so, they aren't really going to give you decent performance, either.

  • These days now, perhaps we were being a little too optimistic with the games because I started with Battlefield five.

  • And as you can see, the screen got stuck like this indefinitely either that we were playing through a pretty dark level.

  • I'm gonna have to say that Battlefield five is therefore not going to run very well or at all on this CPU.

  • I did still want to get that first person shoot to fix those.

  • So I went for something that's a little bit older, but it's still pretty fun to play.

  • This is call of duty black ops.

  • You can see the average frame rate wasn't too bad that the game was played with stutter.

  • That made it pretty unplayable, especially when you consider that if you're playing online, then these status, um, frame drops are going to be quite a hinderance when you need quick reactions.

  • Now it's a similar story in Fire Watch as faras.

  • The average frame rate is concerned, but again, there's too much data here to really call this game playable.

  • This was at the lowest settings on all games were tested at 10 80 p, though 7 20 p made no real difference.

  • And in fact, to make things harder for the CPU, Firewatch is another one that's not really going to be playable here now.

  • At first I thought Pop G was going to go the same way as Battlefield five, but all of a sudden, after about four minutes of loading, the game sprung into action and, as you can see here, ran flawlessly or no, However, it did run and this is more than I was initially expecting after sitting at a black screen for such a long time.

  • Here we are at the absolute lowest in game settings.

  • No matter what you do with the resolution or render scale here, the frame rate isn't really going to improve all that much, and you will still see a ton of stuttering.

  • Or at least I did with the pension D 945 shadow of the Tomb Raider.

  • Well, this did better than I thought, albeit with a few frame drops and status and the similar audio glitch that I experienced when testing out another low in CPU.

  • I can't quite remember what it was a while ago on the audio is all over the place.

  • It cuts out it's not.

  • Sink it with the situation on screen things like that.

  • And overall, this was a pretty terrible gameplay experience.

  • In all honesty, though, this was to be expected.

  • The Pentium D is a to court chip from many years ago, and it is essentially just to painting fours glued together, which is why it's no surprise that it can't really handle modern games all that well.

  • But what about just general everyday use well, I had to install Windows seven, as you could probably tell, because when those 10 was extremely sluggish now browsing with Google Chrome was actually okay, you're not gonna break any speed records.

  • I think that's a given.

  • But Web pages will load, and the experience is an awful.

  • It doesn't make you want to turn the PC often.

  • Throw it in the bin.

  • If you're putting together a build for your mom or something, who just wants toe browse now, I can't even recommend it.

  • Then there's too many interruptions about.

  • I think I'm gonna have to end there.

  • There we have it, the Pentium day.

  • I'm sure it's still capable of running older games, but if you want to play anything new on it, well, I think it was obvious from the start.

  • But it's not going to really give you a decent experience here.

  • And with all that said, thank you for watching.

  • I hope you've enjoyed it.

  • What I might do is put together a sort of ultimate Pentium de build, something that would have been really good back in the day just to see how all the components work together because it's a shame Thio.

  • Just sell these on the Pentium Day, despite its floor still has a special place in my heart for some odd reason.

  • And with that said, like the video, if you enjoyed it, dislike it if you didn't subscribe to the channel if you haven't done so already and hopefully I'll see you all in the next one.

I don't ever wanna welcome to another video.
