The brothers reportedly weren't on good terms when Harry and wife Meghan Markle stepped down from royal duties in January and gave up their royal titles after reaching an agreement with the queen about pursuing a more independent life, a family friend tells People magazine the princes are relieved.

The shakeup surrounding Harry and Megan's exit is over now that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have started their new life in Canada with nine month old son Archie.

And a palace source adds that Harry and William have begun talking MAWR in recent weeks, igniting speculation that their relationship is on its way to being healed.

The tension is said to have started back in 2017 when William reportedly expressed concern about Harry moving too quickly with Meghan.

The couple went on to marry the following year at ST George's Chapel in Windsor, where William and wife Kate Middleton were present, along with their Children, George and Charlotte, who famously had a blast as part of the bridal party.

Harry acknowledged in a night TV documentary last year that he and William were on different paths and their busy schedules kept them from spending as much time together as they used to.

But he also went on to add that their support of one another hadn't changed, saying quote.

I will always be there for him, and as I know he will always be there for me.

I love him dearly, and the majority of stuff is created out of nothing.

As brothers, you have good days.

You have bad days.

William Kate even had a chuckle when Margot Robbie made a joke about Harry leaving the UK, saying on behalf of Brad Pitt at the BAFTAs that the actor was naming his award after Harry because he couldn't wait to take it back to the states with him.

So no hard feelings William and Harry may have been destined for separate lives all along.

Royal expert Melanie Bromley told Access Hollywood in January that growing up royal and form their respective outlooks on life in different ways, possibly in part to how late mother Princess Diana raised them.

Harry has always lived on, had his own minds on seeing the world in a different way to, let's say, his father, because of his mother, because Princess Diana really brought Harry and William up to be different.

William did not have a choice.

He's going to be the king.

Harry does have a choice on for that reason, like having the background of his mother saying No, I want my Children to understand what it's like to be homeless, for example, and to do this and to do that.

But it is of no surprise that this is a man he has grown into, and now he's met a woman who can also help and show him other ways as well.

There were also some questions as far as Harry and Williams friendship.

There, of course, has beena rumored feud, which Harry then admitted himself two months ago when he did the documentary with Tom Bradbury.

I think that this is really Harry taking a different, making a different choice from where his brother has done and saying, I'm not gonna be here as your spare as your support as you'll double act anymore.

I want to do my own thing and be independent.

That is a very, very interesting decision to make and how that will play out with the two brothers.
