  • I hope youre not tapped out on excitement for learning phrasal verbs!

  • Because today weve got another one to learn.

  • Tap out:

  • that means to have nothing left.

  • We can use it with money,

  • energy,

  • ideas,

  • resources of any kind.

  • Hey Rach, want to come out for dinner?

  • No, I don’t have any money.

  • I’m totally tapped out after vacation.

  • To tap into means to use some of a supply of money, energy, ideas, etc.

  • Our new employee has a great energy.

  • I wish I could tap into it.

  • Hey, can I tap into your snacks?

  • We had to tap into our savings to buy a new car.

  • Now, if you get tapped for something,

  • that’s an honor.

  • That means you were asked to do something.

  • She was tapped to sing the Star Spangled Banner at the baseball game.

  • She was tapped to be company’s new CEO.

  • Tap in,

  • tap out,

  • tap for:

  • useful phrasal verbs.

  • Tap begins with a True T:

  • The teeth are together,

  • the tongue is at roof of the mouth,

  • tt, tt.

  • When we release, you can feel a little burst of air, tt, tt, tap.

  • Tap. Release right into the AA vowel.

  • Jaw drops, ta, aa, and the back of the tongue lifts.

  • tip stays down. Aa, ta

  • If you have a hard time with this vowel,

  • think of making your mouth on a shape of a square,

  • aa that might help:

  • Aa, aa, taa-, tap.

  • To end, a P.

  • The lips come together. Tap.

  • Most of the time,

  • Americans will release the P into a light burst of air. Tap, pp, tap.
