In this English lesson, I will invite you along with me for part of my day so that you can see my daily routine and along the way, you'll be able to learn how to talk about your daily routine.

この英語のレッスンでは、私と一緒に一部の日常を過ごしてもらい、あなたの日常生活について話す方法を学ぶことができます。

So in this video, we'll go from the moment I wake up until about the end of my work day.

この動画では、私が起きてから一日の仕事が終わるまでを紹介します。

This is part one of two videos where you're going to learn to talk about your daily routine.

これは、あなたの日常生活について話す方法を学ぶための2本の動画のうちの第1部です。

The very first thing I do every day is I wake up and then I usually press the snooze button on my alarm clock.

毎日最初にすることは、目覚まし時計のスヌーズボタンを押すことです。

When you wake up, it means you go from being asleep to being awake, but when my alarm first goes off, I usually wanna sleep just a little bit more.

「wake up（目が覚める）」というのは、眠っている状態から目を覚ます状態になることを指しますが、私の目覚まし時計が最初に鳴ると、通常はもう少し寝たいと思います。

So I'm gonna do that right now.

そうしよう。

So the second thing I do in the morning is I get up.

朝、2番目にすることは「 get up（起きる）」ことです。

When you get up, it means you actually get out of bed.

「 get up（起きる）」と言うことは、実際にベッドから起きると言うことです。

So I think it's time for me to get up.

そろそろ起きる時間です。

The first thing I like to do after I get up is I like to make the bed.

起きたらまずは「make the bed（ベッドを整える）」です。

It's always nice when you have your bed made.

ベッドを整えるのが好きなんです。

So after I get up and after I make the bed, I usually use the bathroom.

起きてベッドを整えたら、「 use the bathroom（バスルームでに行く）」です。

This room behind me is our bathroom and in English, you can say this a number of ways.

後ろの部屋はバスルームです。英語ではいろいろな言い方ができます。

You can say, "I use the bathroom,"

「バスルームを使う 」と言えます。

you can say, "I go to the bathroom,"

「バスルームに行く 」とも言えます。

you can also in Canadian English say, "I use the washroom," or, "I go to the washroom."

カナダ英語では、「I use the washroom」や 「I go to the washroom 」と言います。

This is the one part of the lesson though where I'm not taking the camera with me.

でも、これはレッスンの中で唯一、カメラを持って行かない部分なんです。

So the next thing I do every day is make breakfast.

次にする日課は朝食を作ることです。

I usually fry two eggs in a frying pan, I usually make myself two pieces of toast in the toaster, and I make myself a mug of coffee.

通常、フライパンで卵を2つ焼いて、トースターでトーストを2枚焼いて、コーヒーを入れます。

That is a pretty standard Bob the Canadian breakfast.

カナダ人のボブの朝食の定番ですね。

So after I make breakfast, I eat breakfast.

朝食を作ってから食べるんです。

There's actually two ways to say this, though, in English.

英語では二通りの言い方があるんですけどね。

You can say, "I eat breakfast," but you can also say, "I have breakfast."

「I eat breakfast」と言うこともできますが、「I have breakfast.」と言うこともできます。

So I eat my egg on toast and I drink my coffee from my favorite mug.

トーストに卵をのせ、お気に入りのマグカップでコーヒーを飲みます。

This actually says, "Love the World, Bob the Canadian."

「世界を愛せ、カナダのボブ。」って書いてあります。

This is from a friend of mine named Miroslav.

ミロスラフという友人からです。

Thanks again Miroslav for the mug.

But again, every day I eat breakfast or I have breakfast.

でも、毎日、朝食を食べています。

The next thing I do is I use my computer to check my email and to read the news.

次にパソコンでメールをチェックしたり、ニュースを読んだりします。

I like to check my email every morning and I like to read the news every morning.

毎朝メールをチェックし、ニュースを読むのが好きです。

I also spend a little bit of time checking my social media accounts like Facebook and Instagram and TikTok.

Facebook や Instagram、TikTok などのソーシャルメディアもチェックします。

I probably spend a little bit too much time doing that.

ちょっと時間をかけすぎかもしれません。

So this next part of my day you are not invited to because every day I take a shower.

では、次の一部は見せません。その理由は毎日「take a shower（シャワーを浴びる）」からです

There are two ways to say this, though, in English.

英語では二通りの言い方がありますが。

You can say, "Every day I take a shower."

「Every day I take a shower.」と言ってもいいし、

You can also say, "Every day I have a shower."

「Every day I have a shower.」と言うこともできます。

I usually take a shower every day before I go to work.

毎日出勤前にシャワーを浴びています。

After my shower, I dry off with a towel and then I put on some deodorant.

シャワーを浴びたら、タオルで水分を拭き取り、デオドラントをつけるんです。

After that, I get dressed.

そして、服を着ます。

I decide what I'm going to wear for the day and then I get dressed and I get ready to go to work.

その日の服装を決めてから、着替えて仕事に行きます。

After I get dressed, I go back to the bathroom and if I need to, I will shave, but I don't actually shave every day.

着替えた後、もし必要ならば、私はもう一度バスルームに戻り、剃るでしょう。ただし、実際には毎日剃るわけではありません。

But if it's a day where I need to shave, I shave.

でも剃る必要がある日は剃ります。

After that, I get some toothpaste and my toothbrush and I will brush my teeth.

So the next thing I do is I come back to the kitchen and I make a lunch.

それからキッチンに戻って、お弁当を作るんです。

I don't like to buy lunch every day.

毎日弁当を買うのは嫌なんです。

I don't like to spend money.

お金を使うのは好きじゃないです。

So I usually make a sandwich and I grab a banana, and this will be my lunch for today.

だいたいサンドイッチを作って、バナナを取って、これが今日の昼食になります。

So in English, we would say, "Every day I make a lunch."

英語では、「Every day I make a lunch. 」と言うんです。

We can also, though, say, "Every day I pack a lunch."

「Every day I pack a lunch.」と言うこともできます。

When you pack a lunch, it means that you put your lunch in a nice lunch bag like this one.

お弁当というのは、このような素敵なランチバッグにお弁当を入れるということです。

So every day I make a lunch, and every day I pack a lunch.

だから毎日お弁当を作り、毎日お弁当を詰めます。

The next thing I do every day is I grab my things.

次にやることは、「grab my things（自分の荷物を持つ）」ことです。

When I say I grab my things, it means that I grab my keys, I grab my phone, I grab my wallet, I grab my laptop,

「grab my things」と言うと、私は鍵、携帯電話、財布、ラップトップなどを手に入れることを指します。

and I grab the lunch that I made because I'm just about ready to head out the door and go to work.

そして、作った昼食も手に取ります。なぜなら、私はもうすぐドアを出て仕事に向かう準備が整っているからです。

So the next thing I do in my daily routine is I go to work.

次にすることは仕事に行くことです。

Every day at about 7:30, Monday through Friday, I go to work.

月曜日から金曜日まで、毎日7:30頃に出勤します。

If you were someone who was in school though, you would say, "I go to school."

学校に通ってる人なら、「I go to school.」と言うんでしょう。

If you are someone who stays home, at this point in your routine, you might stay home.

家にいる人なら、今の時点では家にいるかもしれません。

But for me, every day at this time, I go to work.

でも私の場合、毎日この時間には出勤しています。

One of the things I like about my drive to work is that there are no traffic jams, ever.

仕事への通勤が気に入っている点の一つは、いつも交通渋滞がないことです。

It takes me only 10 minutes to drive from my house to the school that I work at.

家から学校まで車で10分しかかかりません。

When I get to work, I take off my jacket and I hang up my jacket, and then I say hi to all the other teachers in the staffroom.

職場に着いたら、「 take off my jacket（上着を脱いで）」「hang up my jacket（干して）」、職員室で他の先生たちに挨拶するんです。

I put my lunch in the fridge.

I teach my first class of the day, which is grade nine French, this is our textbook, to a lot of students who are usually very interested in learning a new language.

私はその日の最初の授業を教えます。それは9年生のフランス語の授業で、これが私たちの教科書です。通常、新しい言語を学ぶことに非常に興味を持っている多くの学生が受けています。

Every day after teaching my first class, I go to my teacher work area and I grade student work with my red pen and I plan my lessons for my next two classes.

After that it's lunch time,

I know this doesn't sound very Canadian but I don't actually watch hockey.

After lunch, I teach my next class of the day, which is computer class.

In computer class, I teach students how to make video games.

It is a really, really fun class.

And then I teach my last class of the day, which is grade 10 French.

This is our textbook.

And that's pretty much the end of my workday.

これで私の仕事は終わりです。

I usually put on my jacket at the end of the day and I say bye, "Bye everybody," to all of my colleagues.

一日の終わりには「put on my jacket（上着を着て）」、同僚全員に「さようなら」と挨拶するのが常です。
