このゾンビ野郎、くたばれ！

In the early days of the plague,

この疫病が伝染し始めた初期、

governments of the world struggled to come to terms with this mysterious threat.

The world shook its' collective head in bewilderment

何が起こっているのか、理解に苦しんでいたのだ。

as those affected by the disease did not attack the living,

感染した者は健常者を襲わず、

but instead would just wander off,

ただ放浪していくだけで、

paying no mind to the brains and entrails of the healthy humans nearby.

健常者の脳みそや内臓には無関心なのであった。

On a quiet stretch of country road,

静かな田舎道に、

we find one of these meandering rejects shuffling along

哀れなつまらない感染者が彷徨っているのを見つけた。

and like the rest of his kind,

カールも他の感染者と同じように、

Karl is is completely, utterly, without hope.

完全に絶望していたのだった。

Even though things didn't work out for Karl,

カールにとっては残念だが、

some would say that its' better to have loved and lost,

愛して、それを失った方が全く愛さないより良いと

then to not have loved at all.

Based on that criteria,

Karl's a winner,

カールは人生の勝者で、

and from here on out, or at least until he gets a screwdriver jammed in his head

今後は、

or catches a bullet with his brain like Hope,

とりあえず頭にドライバーを刺されるまでは、

he will continue to win,

それか、ホープのように銃で撃たれるまでは、

being the zombie he was always meant to become.

ゾンビになるという宿命を受け入れて、
