a couple of years ago.

And you were talking about--

you have a huge family.

You have, like, 40 cousins, right?

I mean, second and third, I think my grandmother,

when she passed, it was like 115 grands

and great grands she had.

No, and they literally pack the house when--

went down in Anderson, South Carolina and parts of Georgia,

they literally packed the house of theaters,

buy out whole theaters just with my family.

I'm sure they do.

Very cool.

So you went to the NAACP Awards.

Yeah.

And you were the most popular guy in the room

that everybody was trying to get a picture with.

I don't know about that.

It did feel like I was the mayor at a certain point.

Yeah.

Yeah.

I was definitely working the room.

And who was coming up to you?

Who was freaking you out that came up

that wanted to get a picture with you?

Well, inside the awards, I think the most amazing--

during the commercial break, I looked over

and Danny Glover was looking at me.

And he was he like-- he pointed at me, and I went over to him.

Because I wanted to talk to him anyway.

Yeah.

So just to have an icon and somebody that you've

looked up to your entire life--

Yeah.

No, everybody's very excited about this film.

Twitch is freaking out over there.

Everybody is.

Everybody is freaking--

I'm trying to stay cool.

Yeah.

No, everybody-- even when we said

that you were here from Black-- the audience was like, oh.

The anticipation for this film when

it comes on the trailers that come on in the theater, people

freak out.

So if people don't know, tell everyone

what Black Panther is about.

Well, Black Panther was introduced--

the character in the Marvel cinematic universe

was introduced during Civil War.

He lost his father, who was the King of Wakanda, in that movie.

So this movie starts out with him returning to Wakanda,

and taking the throne, and settling

the unrest that is in Wakanda because of his father's death.

So it's you.

It's Lupita Nyong'o.

It's--

Michael B. Jordan.

Michael B. Jordan, my pal.

Yeah.

Do you train with him?

No.

No.

Did he tell you I trained with him?

No.

No, I'm just messing with you.

Oh, no, but he looks--

I wanted to know if you were holding pads for Creed.

No, he's really in good shape for this movie though, huh?

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

I was texting with him the other day,

because I thought I was going to get to see it.

There he is sparring with you.

not too bad a shape, both of you.

Do you work out with him?

We had to work out together a little bit for the movie, yeah.

Yeah.

Who's stronger?

We didn't test strength.

There must have been a compet--

It's fighting training.

I see.

Whatever.

But it's a big deal.

Do you feel pressure that it's the first big, major all black

cast in a Marvel comic movie?

Not now-- I felt pressure when we were filming it.

I think everybody felt a certain amount of angst and tension,

because this was something that you hadn't experienced before.

Everybody's had special moments on films,

but this was one where we were like this

is something entirely different than any of us have ever done.

Yeah.

So I think every actor that came to work every day

brought that to the table.

Yeah, well, it's--

I mean, like I said, it's a great cast.

And everybody has got such high anticipation for it.

Did you see your action figure yet, by the way?

Is this the Jesse Williams one, the one

that looks like Jesse Williams?

Does it?

I don't think it does.

Nah.

They never look like--

You don't think so?

It never looks exactly like you.

No, no.

It kind of does look like Jesse--

It does look like.

Now that you mention that, yeah.

Yeah.

But that's quite an outfit.

Yeah.

Does that intimidate you that your body

should look like that?

Because it's solid muscle.

Well, the body's in there, but that's also the suit as well.
