Look at IDDQD, he has been such a factor. Look at him strafing. My name is Andre Dalstrom. Also known by the nickname IDDQD in Overwatch. It became pretty clear early on, that you’d be in the spotlights, you’d be doing interviews, you’d be sited on the stage, people will be cheering for you and all that sound pretty amazing at first. But when it actually came down to the point where it was happening, I mean, I was literally shaking in the beginning. I think it goes without saying that what you don’t understand … That you’re, kind of, afraid of the stuffs you don’t understand and I think that applies to my mother in many ways. When he was younger, we wanted him to get an education and a regular job. because that was what, we, in our family, thought that was important. At that time, we did not understand that this was something you could make a living out of. She didn’t understand esports at all. She didn’t understand gaming in general either. So, there was a lot of conflicts, like conflicts in opinions on what I should be doing with my future. She thought that it’s more reliable to study. Get your exam in whatever field you want to study in. Just go a safe secure path. The more she understood, the more she studied the game, studied the scene and everything in and out, the more she started to understand the whole scenario. It’s very very crucial that you have your family support when you’re doing these things. It’s kind of funny. I didn’t chose McCree, he chose me. (Cheers)What a flashbang coming out! Seagull had not a chance. IDDQD the goalie! He had one job: to stop Seagull. And he did it beautifully. So what happen was… At that time... We needed a McCree player in the team. Like very early on in the game. I didn’t like him very much. He wasn’t really appealing to me at all. But I decided to give it a try… and he kinda stuck with me ever since that day. And today, you know… I’m considered among the top DPS players in the game. That transition happened very quickly. The World Cup, it is literally like a world championship. But instead of having organizations representing teams you have teams representing countries. The shield… There we go. He gets himself a triple kill. I’ve been teammate with every single player. We have Zebbosai who’s the support player for Misfits. We have Zave who is a support player for Luminosity Gaming. We have Chipshajen who is kind of a flex support player He plays flex support for us. He’s from team EnVyUs. We have Coco, who is a tank. He also plays for EnVyUs. We have TviQ, who plays for Rogue, as a flex dps. And we have me. I think Coco is just amazing to play with… He’s just a fun character and he always bring joy… .. in like, you know, very weird scenarios. But he finds a way to do it. It’s just a big part of the Swedish people in general. We started gaming so early on… And we become very serious early on as well. It’s just, I don’t know, a part of us! And it’s integrated in our game style I guess. So yes, it’s very important. It’s all down to the fact that You have to believe in what you want to believe in. If you start having doubts you’re not going anywhere. You have to consistently think that you can improve. And when you reach that point just keep on going, keep on moving forward. There no point listening to others saying that you won’t make it. Don’t ever get discouraged. Just keep rolling your way and eventually you’re going to hit that spot where you’re like « I made it ». And that’s practically it, never give up.
