I think it's important to be original. - If it's just like, "We're gonna steal it and nobody's gonna notice," not a huge fan of that. - I feel like if it's different enough, I don't care. - It doesn't make me like the song less, 'cause I can't help how much I love the song. - No really. Not when it's One Direction. - I think that they can do no wrong. I think they could kill a baby in their music video, and I'd be like, "You know what? Great performance. Like, they really stuck to it. Good for them." - I think probably, in One Direction's case, they didn't put their own original spin in it. Like, the songs are written for them. - I'm not saying anything. - One Direction are great. - (Finebros) One Direction's YouTube channel now has almost 8 million subscribers. - Wow. - (Finebros) What are your thoughts about mainstream artists becoming some of the most subscribed YouTube channels? - Well, I think they're probably one of the Vevo artists that actually got the views. So I think that's really, really cool. Uh... (chuckles) - Why are they growing so fast though? They're all on a sidebar, right, for being promoted. - I personally think that's cool. 'Cause when you see names like Smosh, PewDiePie, Rihanna, and it's just like, you got the regular guys up there dancing with the big dogs. - They're, like, mega super famous. And right above them is Jenna Marbles and YouTubers. Like, I think it's kinda dope. - I guess they do bring more people to the YouTube universe. So if they're putting more people in front of my videos, then I'm fine. - I don't think that's it's fair for them to be put in the same category as YouTubers. - I wish they were kind of like in separate lists. But to the normal person, I don't think they consume the list as much as we do. If I had 8 million subscribers, I'd be like-- I would wear a name tag all day long, "8 million subscribers." They probably don't even know. Like, they've never said, "Make sure you subscribe." - It's hard 'cause you start to lose that homegrown aspect of YouTube. - You have to work on your channel. If you ever logged in-- If you don't know the password to your channel, you shouldn't be in the top 10. (clang!) - (Finebros) Truth!
