A long time ago, a stranger visited a small town.

昔、見知らぬ人が小さな町を訪れた。

The people there were not friendly to him.

そこにいた人たちは、彼に好意的ではありませんでした。

They went inside their homes and closed their doors.

彼らは家の中に入り、ドアを閉めた。

The stranger asked, “Excuse me, may I…?”

見知らぬ人が "すみませんが... "と聞いてきました。

“Go away. There's nothing for you here,”

"あっちへ行け"ここには何もない"

a person said to him.

とある人が言っていました。

“Don't worry.

"安心してください。

I just want to make delicious stone soup to share with you all,”

美味しい石のスープを作って皆さんにおすそ分けしたいだけなんです。

the stranger said.

見知らぬ人が言った。

He dropped a stone into his pot and started to cook.

彼は鍋に石を落として料理を始めた。

Later, people started to come and check out the “stone” soup.

その後、人が集まってきて「石」のスープをチェックするようになった。

“Ah! If I add tomatoes to the soup, it will be wonderful,” said the stranger.

"あ！トマトをスープに入れたら、最高に美味しくなりますよ "と見知らぬ人は言った。

Soon, a person gave him some tomatoes.

すぐに、ある人がトマトをくれました。

“Wonderful!” said the stranger.

"素晴らしい！"と見知らぬ人は言った。

“Although the soup is good enough, I still need some beef.

"スープだけでも十分美味しいのですが、やはり牛肉が欲しいですね。

Then the soup will be fit for a king.”

"王様にふさわしいスープになるだろう"

Shortly after, some people brought beef, and it continued this way with other food

その後すぐに牛肉を持ってくる人が出てきて、他の食べ物でもこのような状態が続きました。

Finally, there was a pot of delicious soup for everyone to share.

最後には、みんなで分け合う美味しいスープの鍋がありました。

After the meal, everyone thanked the stranger for the soup.

食事が終わると、みんな見知らぬ人にスープのお礼を言っていました。

To their surprise, the stranger said,

驚いたことに、見知らぬ人は言った。

“I didn't make the soup alone.

"スープ "を一人で作ったわけではありません。

In fact, we made it together.”

実は一緒に作ったんです。"
