So now the bike is out of the box, we locate the Chain Reaction Cycles bag
Here it is
There's everything in this bag to get your bike up and running
Including a pair of pedals
A pedal spanner
A multitool
waterbottle
High 5 nutrition
And the all important PDI sheet
Letting you know that your bike has been checked over by one of our trained mechanics
Before it leaves us
That includes checks on the wheels, drivetrain, brakes and controls
Next up you just need to remove all the packaging from around the bike
Ok that's all the packaging off, now it's time to fit the handlebar
now it's time to fit the handlebars
You need to remove the stem
There are four bolts in the stem
and you'll remove them using the tools included with your bike box
So let's go
Make sure when when you're removing the bolts, the washer stays on
So now it's time to fit the handlebar in the stem
You've got a set of guidelines on the front of the bar
Get it, so that this line, lines up to the centre of the stem here.
Get it just about right for now
Then you can fit the stem cap back on and adjust to your liking later on
Each side are on now
Located again, to the centre, get it about right
Begin to evenly tighten each of the bolts up
Before you get them fully tightened, what you want to do
Is make sure the bar position is as you'd like it
Spin it round, so for now, keep this part of the bar parallel to the floor
Feels about right
and then tighten the bolts up
all the way
ok now the bars are in,
you're happy with them,
time to move on to the pedals
Now it's time to fit the pedals
We include a pair like this with every bike we send out
but most enthusiast riders will be fitting their own
It's useful to note, that there's a right hand side and a left hand side pedal
which needs to go in the corresponding right hand and left hand crank arm
so let's start with the right hand side
and the right hand pedal
to attach it, you just put it in parallel
and turn towards the front of the bike
Do it up by hand as much as possible
and then you're going to need the pedal spanner we include with the bike
just to tighten it up fully
Then on to the left hand side
That's the pedals attached
Buying a bike from Chain Reaction Cycles is as easy as that
You remove the packaging
attach the handlebars
pop the pedals on
and you're ready to ride
