Hey everyone welcome to this new 2min Japan video!
Today we're gonna talk about something a little bit different
We're not going to talk about
But the subject today is gonna be: Business in Japan
Many of you guys want to come to Japan to explore the country, discover the history, eat some food!!!
But some of you also want to come here to have like a business experience here
Working in Japan can be an amazing experience!
Or not!
For me one of the best things about working in Japan is of course the diff...
For me one of the best things about working in Japan is of course the diff...
One of the best things about working in Japan is the cultural differences compared to more Western-like business culture
And what I find interesting is the Japanese expressions you use like almost every day at work that just...
...doesn't translate to English!
Today I picked up 3 of my favorite Japanese expressions
The first sentence is "Otsukaresama desu"
This phrase actually has a looot of different meanings like:
"Thanks for your hard work", "cheers!"
You will hear it all the time
When you walk by a colleague in the hallway..
You say it!
When you enter the office
You say it!
When you leave the office
You say it!
On the other hand in western countries its more casual like:
Or "hey!"
Or "Good Morning!"
The second phrase you will hear every day is Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu
This sentence is also like...it means....
"I trust that you...eerrr....."
"Please treat me well... no"
It's kind of the equivalent of "I look forward to working with you"
Although in English we don't use it as much as we use "Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu" in Japanese
I don't know, you say it like once in a meeting or in a mail, in Japan it's like...
...every freakin' second!
The third and last one is "Osewa ni natteorimasu"
This one you use at the beginning of every phone conversation or at the beginning of a mail with a client
The meaning is "Thank you for taking care of me"
which in English would sound a little creepy
Thank you for taking care of me.....
So that was like my 3 favorite expressions you use everyday in a Japanese office
I'm probably gonna make 1 or 2 more videos about working in Japan so
if you have any questions please post them in the comments!
As for my Japanese viewers who want to do business abroad, there's a really cool website
called VoiceTube where you can practice Business level English
Go check it out!
And i'll see you soon for another 2min Japan video!
Next one we'll be food!
I swear!
I SWEAR!!!!!!!
