  • - He knows he's obligated to grow up,

  • and it seems like everybody else is already doing that.

  • I think you should have fun with life

  • and joke around with your friends and family and stuff,

  • but... to a point.

  • - There's a lot of pressure to get a degree, and get a job,

  • and instantly grow up, and I get that because you need to be proactive

  • and have a life ahead of you, but I think it's important

  • to kind of maintain your youth and try to have fun too

  • and not take life so seriously.

  • I appreciate his light-hearted outlook.

  • I don't want to act my age. I want to be a kid.

  • I want to do my own thing."

  • - He's thinking of it so drastically, like, "When you grow up,

  • you can never have fun," and that's kind of what it sounds like.

  • But, really, you could grow up and have fun.

  • - Why should we all act our ages?

  • Not even old people that I know act their ages.

  • - I don't want to act my age sometimes, but that's life.

  • You got to start acting your age, otherwise things just aren't gonna get done.

  • - I get up every day and have to handle business as an adult.

  • I feel not ready for everything, but you just gotta do it.

  • just because there wasn't social media and now everything you're doing,

  • most of the time, it can be recorded or just seen.

  • - People are starting to grow up a lot faster because of social media.

  • A lot of people are starting to want to grow up a lot earlier.

  • They want to be older. They want to be cool.

  • - Nowadays, we're giving it a little bit more time to experiment

  • with who we want to be and what we want to do.

  • My mom was 21 when she had me,

  • so I can't imagine running around with a six year old already.

  • - In 1999, when you hit 18 you're expected to get a job

  • and just nose to the grindstone.

  • But as of right now, I'm just barely 20

  • and still living at home and going to college, you know?

  • That's bad ass!

  • - I've always forced myself to grow up faster then when I should have.

  • But now I did that so much that I find myself boring

  • and I'm like, "Okay, this is wack.

  • I need to go in the reverse. I need to go the opposite direction."

  • I find myself just trying to be like the younger generation.
