THIS IS CRAZY, IT IS EXPENSIVE BUT THE LEAD LEVELS ARE SO HIGH THAT PEOPLE CANNOT DRINK THAT WATER. PEOPLE CAN'T BATHE IN IT, THEY CAN'T DRINK IT, AND IT DOES LEAD TO A LOT OF HEALTH CONCERNS. GOVERNOR RICK SNYDER SAID THAT REPLACING THE PIPES IS NOT THE CITY'S SHORT-TERM PLANS. INSTEAD, "OFFICIALS SAY THEY ARE FOCUSED ON SUPPLYING BOTTLED WATER AND FILTERS TO THE CITIES AFFECTED RESIDENTS, MANY OF WHOM ARE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE, WHO HAVE NO CLEAN WATER FOR ACTIVITIES LIKE DRINKING, BATHING AND COOKING." "IT MIGHT NOT BE LIMITED TO FLINT, THERE ARE OTHER AREAS THAT ARE IMPACTED BASED ON WATER TESTS THAT HAVE JUST BEEN DONE. CITIES INCLUDING GRAND RAPIDS, DETROIT, SAGINAW, HOLLAND ARE ALSO EXPERIENCING HIGH LEVELS OF LEAD IN THEIR WATER." I LIKE THIS QUOTE BY SNYDER, HE SAID IN TERMS OF SHORT-TERM IT IS A LOT OF WORK TO DIG OUT PIPES ñ VIDEO BUFFERING ñ YOU MIGHT WANT TO ENGAGE IN SOME PROCESS TO ENSURE WE GET GOING. IS REPLACING THE PIPES ABSOLUTELY THE RIGHT THING TO DO? I'M NOT SAYING THAT EITHER. IT WILL COST 1 1/2 BILLION DOLLARS. THEY WANTED TO SAVE ONE OR TWO MILLION IN THE FIRST PLACE. WELL PLAYED. I THOUGHT THESE REPUBLICANS WERE GOOD BUSINESSMAN. YOU SEE, YOU SAVE ONE MILLION AND COSTS YOU TWO AND A HALF BILLION DOLLARS. NOT ONLY ARE THE LEAD PIPES PROBLEMATIC, BUT THE WATER IS CORROSIVE, SO THE ACCOMMODATION OF THE TWO IS LEADING TO THIS PROBLEM. WE LIVE IN THE WEALTHIEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, AND ALSO THE MOST PRODUCTIVE COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, AND NOW WE HAVE A STATE THAT IS SUFFERING FROM NO DRINKING WATER. I DON'T CARE THAT IT COSTS MORE THAN ONE BILLION DOLLARS, THIS SHOULD BE CONSIDERED A STATE OF EMERGENCY. IF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO STEP IN, THEN THEY SHOULD TAKE CARE OF THIS. THERE HAS TO BE CONSEQUENCES FOR THE PEOPLE WHO DID IT. THEY DO THIS ALL THE TIME AND THEN THEY TELL US WE DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY, RICK SNYDER GIVES AWAY $1.7 BILLION IN TAX CUTS TO CORPORATIONS INSIDE MICHIGAN EVERY YEAR. THEN HE SAYS, I DON'T HAVE THE 1 1/2 BILLION FOR THE PIPES. WELL, IF YOU STOP GIVING AWAY 1.7 BILLION IN CORPORATE TAX CUTS EACH YEAR, THEN YOU MIGHT HAVE IT. THE MOST GRATING PART OF THIS STORY IS THAT THEY DID NOT TRUST PEOPLE, AND THAT DRIVES ME CRAZY. IN THIS CASE THE REPUBLICAN GOVERNOR, THE GOVERNMENT OVERALL, PEOPLE WERE SAYING THAT THE WATER IS ORANGE, IT IS MAKING OUR SICK ñ OUR KIDS SICK. NO, YOU DON'T KNOW, WE KNOW. WE WILL STUDY IT FOR A YEAR WHILE YOUR KIDS ARE DRINKING ORANGE WATER, YOU DON'T KNOW ANYTHING. IT IS EMBLEMATIC, IT IS ONLY A SYMBOL, BUT IT IS WHAT WE FEEL THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY. WHEN PEOPLE SAY, WE HAVE GOT THESE ISSUES, OUR WAGES ARE STAGNANT ñ NO, THE ECONOMY IS SOUND, THE STOCK MARKET IS DOING GREAT STOP IN OTHER WORDS, I'M RICH, MY MONEY IS IN THE STOCK MARKET, I'M GETTING BETTER AND BETTER WAGES, SO YOUR WAY TO BEING STAGNANT IS NOT MY PROBLEM, I DON'T EVEN BELIEVE YOU. THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA IS CONSTANTLY SAYING, WHAT ARE PEOPLE COMPLAINING ABOUT? WHY ARE THEY ALL THESE RADICALS LIKE BERNIE SANDERS RUNNING AROUND?
