First of all, I want to apologize for the hoarseness of my voice today.

This video will be probably kind of heavy on the whispers,

because when I use my soft speaking voice it's just kind of croaky.

I am in the final stages of a cold and feeling a lot better, but my voice has not gotten the memo yet.

So I hope it's not too disruptive to your relaxation today.

So what I'm going to be doing for you today is playing a game on my phone.

A while back I did an ASMR Let's Play of the mobile game Monument Valley and I loved the game.

I'm a big fan of it and a lot of you guys seemed to really like the videos where I played it

and the company who created the game, Ustwo, has just released 8 new "chapters" or levels of the game.

So, I'm going to revisit the Monument Valley world with you guys today and play through those levels.

But before I get started on that, pretty often I am contacted by companies who are interested in having me show or talk about their products or services on my channel

and that happens pretty frequently but with the exception of my 3Dio binaural mic,

I have never found another product that has really met the standards that I personally have for what kinds of things I am willing to share with you guys.

It has to be something that I really genuinely like or enjoy and that I think that you guys would possibly benefit from.

And the reason for that is just that my or the connection that I feel like I have with you guys

is just worth a lot more to me than any kind of free products or services that might come my way.

It's a lot more important to me that I'm just honest and transparent with you guys about stuff like that.

So, a while ago a representative from a smart phone company who also is a regular viewer of my channel

contacted me and they wanted me to check out one of their smart phones and I was really clear and upfront with them.

I told them that they were more than welcome to send me a phone if they wanted to but

I couldn't guarantee that it would be something I would definitely talk about on my channel.

I would have to see if I genuinely liked it first and they were really understanding and really respectful of that boundary that I have

and they said that they would send me the phone and they wouldn't expect anything after that if I didn't like it then no problem and

either way they wouldn't have any expectations of me to talk about it on my channel.

So, they send me the phone a while back. I've actually been using it for maybe like a couple of months now

and I wanted to use it for a decent amount of time to really get a feel for all of the aspects of the phone and

I have determined in that time that I really really do love the phone.

It's actually my favorite phone that I've ever owned at this point.

So, because of that I'm more than willing and actually excited to share it with you guys.

So, for complete transparency I am going to be playing the new Monument Valley levels called, Forgotten Shores

and I'm going to be playing it on my phone, which I'm going to show you right now.

So, here's the phone,

and its made by a company called, Huawei. I think that's how you pronounce it.

You can see the name of the phone kind of there on the top

and this model is called, the Ascend Mate 2

and I have a case on it, at the moment that I bought separately.

As you can see it is a massive phone. I believe it is technically classified as a phablet for a combination phone and tablet because of it's size.

I believe it is a 6.1 inch screen. That's pretty huge.

So, really quickly I'm just going to turn it on and show you a couple of things that I like about this phone in particular.

So, here's my lock screen and it's an android phone so a lot of this is going to look familiar to you if you're an android user

but what I like about this especially is how, several things, how customizable the interface is.

I can rearrange all of this however I want to. I've set this up exactly how I like it specific to my taste

and one thing that I have not seen on a phone before, I thought was really unique and just a cool little detail,

is that you can actually change how the screen's transition. So before I was just swiping and it just looked like a normal swipe

But now when I swipe, it has kind of a different effect. I think that's cool.

And there's several different options. I like this one. This one is called, Box.

You can see when I swipe it kind of looks like the different faces of a cube.

So thats cool.

And that's my cat.

Another thing that I thought was great is that without having to get a separate app, this actually comes with the phone, you can go to this selection called, Phone Manager, and

it will actually optimize your phone to make sure that it's running in the best condition possible and

not being over processed or using too much battery unnecessarily. So it will give you kind of a score.

See, it's scoring my phone right now. So, I get a 94% so there's more that I can do to bring that back up to a 100%.

Close some apps to free up some memory, get rid of some trash, etc.

And that's really cool that just comes standard on the phone.

So I think for me, one of the biggest kind of stand outs is just the hardware that you get for the price point.

It's got a super fast processor, the screen is really big and really high resolution, great, bright, vibrant colors, and the battery life is fantastic.

I can easily get over at least 12 hours of heavy use everyday before I have to put it back on the charger.

And the phones come unlocked too so you're not just limited to one carrier which I really like.

Now there have been several different prices that I've seen so I won't go to the exact price because it's varied on several different websites but

It's definitely a really reasonably cost for everything that you get.

Now, that said, nothing is perfect and this phone, like any, does have some, one or two downsides, but not many.

First one is this feature. So when I shoot my videos I like to use the stop watch on my phone to time my takes and

every once in a while, for some reason, it's working now, but sometimes I will select the stop watch selection and it will just be a blank screen for a few seconds

and I'll have to shut it down or shut the app down and then start it again and I don't know why it does that. It's not terribly disruptive but it is something that I've noticed.

And the only other drawback that I would consider worth mentioning is that if you are located outside of China

it might take some time for you to get any replacement parts that you might need if the phone needs servicing.

Everything pretty much ships out of Hong Kong and that can take a few weeks to ship depending on where you live

and for that reason it will usually take a little bit of time to get you phone fixed if you crack the screen or something

and most phone repair places probably will fix it for you they just might not have the parts there. They'll have to order them.

But, I don't, I really don't see that being an issue for very long because Huawei is already really popular in China

and so I imagine that they are going to start to get popular in places outside of China pretty soon

because it's a great company and the phones are awesome.

So this was just a really brief kind of overview of my phone and what I like about it

but I'm planning to do a more in depth video where I kind of go through the phone in more detail and show you particular things that I like about it.
