What is divine hiddenness? Divine hiddenness, or the argument from non-belief, is a philosophical
concept discussing God's existence. It questions why, if God is all-knowing, all-powerful,
and benevolent, His existence isn't more obvious to all. The argument suggests that a loving God
would not permit sincere non-believers who do not resist the notion of God,
yet find no compelling evidence for His existence. Therefore, God's perceived 'hiddenness' is seen as
contradictory to His traditional attributes. This forms the basis of an atheistic argument:
if God existed, His presence would be clear. This argument is countered by theologians emphasizing
human free will, the value of spiritual seeking, and faith development through struggle and doubt.
