  • episode nine.

  • Where's my breakfast?

  • I was like, thank you next.

  • I finished and you like, can you get, thank you.

  • I have half my makeup on.

  • I'm going to finish that.

  • I honestly, like, I wasn't sure if I was gonna vlog today, but I do want to, because I postponed my trip to America since I have pneumonia.

  • So you probably hear me coughing a lot.

  • So today, the idea is to just like clean a little bit packed.

  • I don't know how much I'm going to do today.

  • I'm just gonna do a little bit today because I don't want to push myself too much.

  • I'm still feeling a little bit of pain in my right lung, which is why I ended up going to the er on sunday.

  • I woke up and I woke up at two a.m.

  • In so much pain.

  • I couldn't lay down.

  • I couldn't turn to my side, I couldn't do pretty much anything and I felt nauseous.

  • I felt sick from the pain and I just couldn't go back to sleep.

  • And I was like, I really need to go to the hospital.

  • Like, this is not, this is not normal.

  • We still have some pain, but it's very, very light, like there's not much going on there.

  • So my boyfriend would stay waiting for me and stayed on the phone with me and translated for me because I was so exhausted.

  • Like it was so hard to explain my feelings and my symptoms and I didn't know what was going on or like what I needed to know.

  • I wanted to know every little thing and that's why I wish that my japanese was like, at advanced level.

  • But, but it's not so I really, really appreciate him talking to the nurse and getting all the information that I need pneumonia.

  • Really, really sucks.

  • It makes you super tired.

  • It's really weird.

  • Like, my body, like this side of my body is like bruised.

  • There's like, it's all blue.

  • It's almost like I got, like, hit by something, but I feel fine.

  • So how's your pain?

  • It's still kind of there, but it's not as bad as before.

  • But it still feels really weird.

  • Like when I walk around, it feels like my lung is like gonna fall off of my body.

  • It's like, really weird.

  • It's like if I move, it feels like it's moving around.

  • It's really weird.

  • I think it's just healing.

  • I don't think it's anything to be worried about since my X rays were fine.

  • Yeah.

  • You're extremely ready was fine.

  • And you pay is, you know, do you think I should still go to the hospital if I'm feeling okay.

  • I think it has to go on Wednesday.

  • You think so, just in case, you know, before you, okay?

  • So I didn't put any lipstick on, but that's fine.

  • It feels so much better today.

  • Oh my God.

  • Like my energy is coming back.

  • I'm going to go to the lawson down the street because where's my keys?

  • Mhm Yeah.

  • Okay.

  • I've literally been so hungry in the past couple of days because I haven't been eating, I just want to eat everything.

  • But this is Carnegie kun.

  • It's my favorite chicken to get.

  • These are the antibiotics.

  • I just finished my one round of antibiotics and they gave me this pain medication.

  • So I have to take one of these and some Tylenol.

  • So this is what it looks like an antibiotic looks like in Japan.

  • So I'm gonna go ahead and take that.

  • Just one.

  • Okay.

  • Okay.

  • Thank you.

  • Work your magic man.

  • Take me home.

  • Okay.

  • So I disappeared for a long time because a, I was talking to my boyfriend for a very, very long time and which is awesome.

  • But like I have so much stuff to do, I'm going to kind of explain to you guys what I've been doing this week, basically.

  • I went to go see some lights with some friends the other day.

  • You got to teach my followers, teach them about cameras.

  • That's not how you teach them.

  • So, um, we're taking, well, he's taking pictures.

  • Were not taking pictures were just in them and she's, she's a lot more experience than me.

  • I just make really weird faces and hope that they come out.

  • Okay.

  • The lights are beautiful in Japan I think as if you're ever here in, if you're ever here during the holidays or before.

  • The holidays.

  • There is a little place with flowers and a mount fuji and um, I discovered some places around shinjuku station that I've never seen before.

  • So.

  • Oh my God, this is so cute!

  • Yeah, I want to eat here.

  • Cute look at this.

  • That was fun.

  • I love exploring.

  • There's so many little things that you can find throughout Tokyo that you just don't know exist until you really, really look and you really explore and I loved doing that.

  • So Tuesday was the day I started to feel sick but I needed to go to the doctors anyway this thursday to get some more asthma medication.

  • So I didn't think much of it.

  • An assistant at work was leaving soon.

  • So I wanted to write her a nice letter before she left for America.

  • So the day before Tuesday I wrote her a long letter.

  • Mhm, mm hmm.

  • You're welcome.

  • It's freaking cold and it's rainy.

  • Oh!

  • But yeah, okay, so I'm gonna cook.

  • I'll show you guys what I'm gonna cook in just a second, literally like my Tuesdays are just all work and editing.

  • I come home and I edit and I go back to work.

  • So, so I'm gonna cook now and I'm gonna cut everything up so you guys don't judge me.

  • I'm like cutting.

  • Mhm.

  • I started editing a video and started to feel a little bit more tired than usual but thought maybe it was because of it just being a busy week Wednesday.

  • I worked all day, it was rainy and I was still more exhausted than usual.

  • I was also coughing a lot more.

  • But I went on with my day as normal and got a Starbucks coffee editing during my break.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Okay.

  • So I'm preparing my christmas lesson today.

  • Um I can't really show too much.

  • And above me.

  • These are for earthquakes just in case you know you need to protect your head.

  • Mm hmm.

  • The next day I headed to the doctor to get some cold medicine and asthma medication since I was having some trouble breathing but sometimes when I get cold this happens.

  • So again, I didn't really think much of it that night.

  • I went on with my work but noticed my throat started to feel swollen around two a.m. It was so difficult to swallow.

  • And I had to work the next day I called off to go to the doctor because the more the night went on, the more feverish I got my fever reached 40.2 degrees Celsius and only a couple more hours, which is about 104 F.

  • This was the worst fever I've ever had.

  • I didn't film anything because I was afraid.

  • So I walked to the clinic and they gave me a flu test which came out negative and then an X ray which turned out to be mycoplasma pneumonia.

  • I had this two years ago but never this bad.

  • It's more of a common thing than you think, especially in Japan.

  • And for asthma sufferers who are more prone to this.

  • My anxiety was so high because it was the last week for my students and I couldn't be there.

  • So I was in full panic mode the next night I woke up at two a.m. In the most pain I've ever felt.

  • It hurt to breathe, to talk, laugh, lay down, walk to the point where I thought I was literally dying.

  • My fever was high again.

  • So I called my boyfriend and I carefully walked five minutes down the street to the er luckily I received a stronger medicine but I was not allowed to fly home for another week.

  • This was the worst timing.

  • I'm glad I could change my ticket with a fee of course and fly home later in the week.

  • Good morning.

  • Just packed a little bit yesterday actually a lot.

  • I didn't really need to bring too much, but today I'm going to clean.

  • Today is Tuesday.

  • Yesterday was monday as you can see behind me, it's a mess.

  • I'm not going to do too much cleaning but I think I should do as much as I can because I do want to come home to a clean apartment.

  • I feel so much better today.

  • I'm coughing a little bit but that's okay.

  • Like I got some of my energy back because I haven't been like exercising or moving.

  • I feel so weak.

  • So I went to the store to get some extra stuff, some snacks, some Kleenex, some wipes to wipe down the desk when I get on the plane because you know, I have allergies.

  • So I need to make sure that I wipe it down.

  • Mm hmm.

  • I've got a bunch of cleaning products that I don't know how to use.

  • So this will be a really fun video.

  • I was reading up online about different cleaning products and this one Youtuber was talking about these things.

  • I guess you're supposed to wet them and they're supposed to get like skid marks off things and like clean really tough stains.

  • We'll see about that.

  • I got these drain things.

  • I've used these before.

  • They're not anything new.

  • Just throw them down the drain and they're supposed to clean the drain and the toilet.

  • I got some of these cloths.

  • I don't know why.

  • This stuff is awesome.

  • If you have like one of these things in your sink, like bubbles up and then it cleans this part.

  • And I usually use like a toothbrush.

  • Always wear gloves and just scrub it, which I have to do today.

  • I got this stuff to clean countertops and things and make everything nice and shiny.

  • I need to clean the ship out of my apartment.

  • So this is like a deep cleaning video.

  • I never let things get like this.

  • Like I'm usually a very clean person, but this is like the before.

  • I don't even know if I want to show you how grody this is.

  • This is like the life of a Youtuber slash teacher slash blogger one day I'm gonna move and I'm gonna be living in a bigger place because this is not, this isn't working for me, this is copy killer.

  • I said that really weird, but I needed more of this and I don't have a lot, but it's just like basically to kill mold and grime and stuff.

  • So this stuff is strong, so just be careful with it.

  • It's hard to focus, but it tells you to put it underwater, take it out, put it underwater and then clean and then throw it away.

  • Okay, so I feel like the countertops are gonna be as good as it's gonna get with my six years of living in Japan.

  • Like a lot of good cleaning products are not strong at all.

  • I wish that I had better cleaning products and you can get some and like Asaba juba and they have like an import store full of like cleaning products that you've been so expensive anyway, they have like simple green and all that stuff.

  • So these little nut things you put in the little cup in your sink.

  • So make sure you get these when you come to Japan or you move into your new apartment because you need catch the food because otherwise it gets really gross.

  • This is the dreaded bathroom where I have a ton of products and no organizers towels, everything is a mess.

  • So we're just gonna basically organize this place.

  • Okay, okay, so my makeup is coming off.

  • I changed into my pajamas because I'm getting ready for bed.

  • I'm gonna start packing.

  • I packed a lot of this stuff already.

  • But um the little things I did not and I think tomorrow I'm gonna just throw everything that I'm using in the morning into my carry on walls of black bags.

  • I'm going to quit in here.

  • Like the tiny things hide stick.

  • I have this for the plane just in case they're making this chap stick.

  • You need your chapstick when you get on the plane of melatonin, my acid reflux medicine and then I have Claritin.

  • Okay, it is Wednesday final day for prepping.

  • I basically packed everything.

  • I know I didn't really show myself packing too much, but I don't really have too much.

  • Like I put an extra bag in here for when I go out.

  • I have some gifts and candy here and then some sweaters, my workout shoes.

  • I know I probably am not supposed to work out like intensely, but I'm going to do some like basic lightweight exercises and hopefully that'll rebuild my immune system.

  • So I have a kindle because I'm going to read on the plane.

  • That's what I bring with me and then I have my camera stuff, my charger and all that stuff.

  • So these are like small things like medicine if I need, if I have a headache.

  • Um, I have some extra makeup, a brush hair spray, a little bit of perfume in here masks.

  • This is a must when you're flying on an airplane, it definitely helps you because it's so dry up there.

  • So it's better to wear a mask.

  • I think I love these pictures on the packaging, it's so funny.

  • Like it's saying it's like for women and it fits your face really good and then they make it like so technical in the back like this is what the mask does, but literally it's just a freaking medical mask.

  • Okay snacks.

  • I got these little pretzel things and this like cookie meal replacement sort of thing and I put my contacts in here because um, I just want to keep them with me if you have a headache or anything even it has a plane icon on it.

  • Like this is so good or on the train or something.

  • This warms up.

  • It's like a heating pad for your eyes and you can just kind of rest, close your eyes and enjoy the feeling it gives you, especially when you have a headache or you're tired and it is, it's very refreshing feeling Tylenol.

  • I didn't have the bottle.

  • So hopefully that's okay.

  • Hand sanitizer is a must always, always, always, I have some, I have my inhaler which is my emergency inhaler and then I also have my regular inhaler which I take every single day.

  • I know I have a sucking breathing problem wipes to wipe down the table.

  • I have some throat candy and then my passport and I carried two of these, my EpiPen just in case because I have a peanut allergy.

  • This is what it looks like.

  • It's in japanese but it's the same thing as the state's not focusing.

  • I'm gonna end this vlog right here.

  • I did major cleaning yesterday.

  • Um I'm just gonna edit this vlog and see if I can finish it.

  • Um and then tomorrow I'm going to film me going to the airport but I'm not going to film too much.

  • Maybe mostly on my phone because it's easier that way.

  • And then once I land I'll film from their film the rest of the day from there.

  • So we'll see.

  • It's going to be major culture shock, so much.

  • Culture shock, reverse culture shock.

  • The airport is so nice.

  • Like everybody here is so nice.

  • I'm like afraid to go to America?

  • Oh my God.

  • Oh they're high Cowie.

  • Oh no, you don't.

  • You look wonderful.

  • How was your flight?

  • It was good.

  • It was are you okay?

  • Are you sick?

  • Yeah, he's got a cold.

  • Yeah, he's got maybe break the distance.

  • Mhm Thank you guys for watching.

  • I just want to thank all of you for your get well messages.

  • Even if I didn't respond, I still read them all on both youtube and instagram.

  • I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and comment below what your plans are for the holidays.

  • No, it's hard for everyone to understand it.
