  • Hey guys, welcome back to TC play.

  • I'm your host for today charlotte.

  • I'm here with sarah and jordans and we are in a very snowy Towanda calamari today to check out the local sites, some of the pretty areas, eat all the amazing food and yeah, we're gonna be spending a whole day here.

  • So I hope you guys enjoy the video.

  • Today's video is sponsored by to wanna travel.

  • Thank you so much.

  • But shall we get going?

  • Let's go, let's go.

  • So we are down here at the gorge, which is a very famous spot here in Al Maury and the stream that you can see down below actually flows down from Lake Hiawatha and right now we're in like the center of Al Maury Prefecture.

  • But yeah, what is this place famous for?

  • So here in the summer, it's hard to imagine now, but it's famous for the hiking because it's really beautiful and pretty.

  • And then right now during the winter you can actually see some icicles and frozen waterfalls.

  • It's a little early in the season.

  • But if you come at the beginning of the little baby icicles, I mean like, do you ever pull them off and let them know, I'm sorry, what I want to do that?

  • I don't know if you want to lick an icicle in Canada.

  • We like put flavors on the snow and eat it.

  • It tastes a little bit of what you just like, get some and then you pour some maple syrup and you're like, yeah, I think it's like massive troughs and then like fresh snow in the trough and syrup is poured into it and you're like, we just get it from the yard in England when it snows.

  • We don't go to work.

  • Oh Canada to like everything shuts down well where I'm from because we don't get that much snow.

  • So if it's not this much like everything would be shut.

  • Like we don't even get snow days.

  • So you're so excited about this.

  • I'm so excited.

  • These are the genki levels about the snow the most.

  • I'm just like, look at this.

  • It's a personal attack.

  • No, this isn't an attack on my personhood.

  • Alright, shall we go to our next spot?

  • What's next and maybe explore a bit around here.

  • Yeah, let's walk around a bit.

  • We're at one of the most beautiful waterfalls on the entire trail and it is in the autumn time.

  • It's fantastic.

  • Summertime, Beautiful right now in the wintertime we've come pretty early.

  • It's not frozen over yet.

  • But you come at the right time.

  • The entire thing is frozen solid.

  • Quite a good sight to see.

  • I've seen it previously to the base of the ball and check it out.

  • We look close but as you can see snowing, we're not going to risk.

  • I'm not in hiking gear right now.

  • I am, I'm wearing Canadian surreal but your feet are freezing.

  • I'm wearing vans.

  • My my feet are so toasty.

  • So maybe I okay can I can I can I like it on the rock.

  • Oh I'm not allowed to.

  • Apparently I would have been down for it.

  • Sorry to disappoint.

  • I was ready.

  • So that's that's good saddle saddle.

  • Yeah.

  • So we've come to Takasaki Julia for lunch.

  • It's right on the lake.

  • So you have a really great view out the window and we're gonna be having the famous butter yaki, which sarah is going to explain to you.

  • Yeah.

  • So it's a local dish here in florida and it's really the soul food of the city.

  • And I'm gonna show you guys.

  • So we've got family slice cuts of beef with onion and it's seasoned with a really sweet sauce.

  • So it should be good.

  • I'm gonna give it a go.

  • It's best to have it with a bit of rice in my opinion only got rice.

  • So you know there's a few grains of rice but it's really sweet and it's kind of like, it's really chewy.

  • It's really soft um Is also really affordable.

  • So it's compared to like Wagyu it's like around, I think around $10-$15 in general um depending on where you go.

  • But here you can see you've got a whole spread of things.

  • You've got a salad, some miso soup, some little side dishes.

  • That's quite good.

  • How are you finding a jordans?

  • I think this is my second time having like Jackie and um in japan and it is like everything I want from a dish.

  • It's a healthy heaping of meat and a good amount of vegetables and a big old bowl of rice, a man is always happy with bigger bowl of rice and a large amount of meat.

  • It's very flavorful as well.

  • I think that's the most important thing about the dish, although it looks very simple.

  • It's got really good compact flavors there so you can get the sweetness, you get like the type of pan cooking that's filled with, it's a nice like sort of what's the word?

  • Yeah, ha yeah, the hotplate sizzling style way of cooking, it is pretty fantastic.

  • If you wanted more flavor a little ponzu as well, you can add it to the fish but I'm gonna eat it just how it is.

  • It's flavored perfectly.

  • We don't argue.

  • It looks like come on after eating your lunch and go downstairs and they have a really good oh Miyagi shop with a selection of souvenirs from the area, so we might check that out after our meal.

  • But yeah, we're going to enjoy this and we'll see you guys later.

  • So as you know, we're in alimony and something really famous and Almighty is apple's, everyone knows about Al Mahdi apples but there's actually two more things that are pretty famous in Ramadi, One of them is garlic.

  • Actually found this garlic sambal, which I'm definitely gonna buy and try for myself.

  • But one of the things that's famous in Amman is actually their, their scallops and you can find some pretty interesting, pretty interesting souvenirs, which is a, these dried scallops because I've actually had these before and they're actually really, really good.

  • Like little individual packages.

  • You can like go ahead and share them with your friends.

  • So let's see what we can find in this store.

  • Let's go, Let's go sitting here by the fire.

  • A little shopping found interesting garlic snacks like garlic.

  • No, really?

  • Oh, it is a balance.

  • Garlic is like stupid things in the region as well.

  • So like I have not been able to stop.

  • I thought it would be black.

  • I don't know why.

  • I thought it was just like a bunch of black, you bought something you didn't know you were buying.

  • Does that make sense while you're doing that?

  • We won't double.

  • I thought it's going to be like individual, big sunday little individual.

  • Like I'm not ready to go and breathe out.

  • Oh no.

  • Oh, this is really cute.

  • Yeah.

  • Right.

  • Mm hmm.

  • This is like an apple alcoholic drink.

  • Alright, we are outside of the water shrine and we're drinking a very popular winter drink here in Japan.

  • It's amazon made from fermented rice and sometimes it's slightly alcoholic but it's, it's really low alcohol content.

  • So in general, um, it's safe for Children to drink as well.

  • But yeah, it's quite sweet and I heard that you made it yourself?

  • Yeah, I made it?

  • Um, my friend's grandfather around New Years and he was like, do you want to come into the kitchen, help me.

  • Like I was very confused and relativity it being New Year's and just sort of made that I was like you together.

  • I could not make it again.

  • I've noted how he made it.

  • It's all a blank.

  • It was going to ask you, Yeah, I'll ask him and I'll get the rest of you trying to make it.

  • I love it so much.

  • I always look forward to winter because they start selling it here.

  • I think my favorite part about it is that I have the chunks of the rice in it, it's not just like a blended drink.

  • Um So yeah, if you enjoy chunky drinks, it's not very, it's like a porridge, it's kind of, it's like a very good, it makes sense.

  • It's like a sweet kind of like honey rice porridge tasted honey anyway.

  • Alright well, shall we at school?

  • So let's head inside toward us.

  • It's so pretty covered in the snow, I'm so excited to be here.

  • Very cold though.

  • I think it's like, let's check how cold it is.

  • It is currently -4 and I don't know what that is in Fahrenheit.

  • Look reindeer reindeer over there too, A gold one, a special one.

  • This is really fun because you walk down and then you kind of like discover lots of things along the path, job decorating and it's so crispy, look at that tree swaying.

  • It's so windy today?

  • Mhm Oh, I'm so happy, I'm cold.

  • That's Harold the golden deer.

  • He's not allowed to be lit up.

  • But that dude over there, he's lit up that big boy boy boy.

  • Mm hmm, mm hmm.

  • Look at these beautiful stairs.

  • Let's go up lead the way.

  • Mm hmm.

  • Mhm So Towanda shrine enshrines the dragon deity and apparently it's really quiet, you're supposed to be able to hear their breath.

  • I think it's just the wind though.

  • Dragon breath, dragon dragon breath well there's the dragon and it kind of looks like the dragon ball Z character thing.

  • Thank you sir.

  • So these two rocks are abc rock and die Kaku rock and they are known as Xintai which is when there is a spiritual being inside of an object and they have these names because apparently they have a very striking resemblance to God's with the same names.

  • They were actually formed by the eruption of the Towanda volcano.

  • So their natural art pieces made out of love.

  • So this is the maiden statue known as Sotomayor knows Oh in japanese, it was built in 1953 to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Lake Tawana National Park and it's a popular spot for women to come to pray for luck in their love life apparently.

  • Mm hmm Alright, we're gonna come back here at nighttime once.

  • It's pitch black for a special event.

  • So we'll see you guys later.

  • Welcome to Fiesta luce.

  • It's a light up of Towanda shrine, it looks so pretty.

  • So let's go inside the next floor.

  • Mm hmm, mm hmm, mm hmm.

  • Mhm.

  • We're gonna go deeper into the illumination, see what else you can find.

  • We're hearing some very adventurous music down there.

  • So come with us.

  • Mm hmm.

  • It's rainbow.

  • Any Mario kart fans.

  • So, festival is actually around in autumn and winter and they have different illuminations right now.

  • The winter ones are kind of suited to the snowy vibes.

  • So definitely if you're in the area, check both of them out.

  • And yeah, and one more thing.

  • They also have fireworks on the weekends during winter.

  • So that would be really awesome to say.

  • So that wraps up our day in the water.

  • I hope you guys enjoyed joining us for the day.

  • We had lots of fun.

  • It was very cold, but there were just so many cool places and ate lots of yummy food.

  • Let us know what your favorite thing you did today was.

  • And I will also have another video coming out in Toronto for that.

  • Thanks so much for watching guys.

  • We'll see you again soon becoming a snowman.

  • My hair is better than yours during the wintertime.

  • It keeps me warm sometimes.

  • I don't know what happened there.

  • Just bring me my present.

  • So Mr, claus talk to talk to that mike To one.
