  • Hey everyone it is Jennifer with Tarle speech  and your two for Tuesday homophone lesson.

  • Homophones are words with different spellings,

  • different meanings, but they are  pronounced exactly the same way.

  • We have two words today

  • thrown a ceremonial chair and thrown to propel with force

  • So to say these words correctly we  are going to start with that t h

  • sound th. Your tongue comes out of your mouth for  the sound and you need to have space between your

  • teeth and your tongue so the air can move over  your tongue and out of your mouth. I tell people

  • not to touch their teeth with their tongue even  though sometimes they can touch slightly on the

  • sides. Just because if you touch the front teethyou close the ability for the air to come out,

  • and then it sounds like t and we  don't want that we want a th th

  • You can see my tongue sort of  makes a little cup. th th th

  • Then from there we are going to move to  that r sound. To do this the tip of your

  • tongue is inside of your mouth and it's either  pointed down or flipped back. My tip is for this

  • take your time this is a super  difficult sound combination

  • so practice moving slowly let's  try it together. thr thr thr

  • After you get good at that you can  go a little bit faster. But again my

  • tip is - take your time at first and  really get the feel for that sound.

  • Next we're going to move to that long o and  to do this your mouth opens wide and then

  • it puckers. Your tongue tip will be down low and  then it'll move to about the middle of the mouth.

  • And then end by touching the tip of the tongue  to the back of the top front teeth nor that n,

  • air moves out of your nose. Let's put  it all together and go slowly at first

  • throne thrown throne

  • throne thrown throne throne thrown throne

  • And now for a sentence; The queen had thrown her crown on the throne.

  • Give it a try I know people are going to  notice the difference. If you found this

  • helpful we would love a like a share andsubscribe. If you're looking for more help

  • check out all of our class options and our  products that are available at Tarle speech.

  • Thank you so much everyone have a great week!
