we use 'these' and 'those' to talk about nouns that are close to us

Now, we know if there is just one,

and it's close to us,

we say, “This is a flower”.

But there's more than one.

It's plural.

So we have to say, “These”.

Now, I change the 'be' verb to 'are'

今度は、「be」の動詞を「are」に変えます。

and I added an 's' at the end of 'flower'.

そして、"flower "の最後に "s "を付けました。

So, “These are flowers.”

だから、"これは花だ"。

Now, there's one that's far away.

今は、遠いところにあるもの。

We say, “That is a flower.”

私たちは「それは花だ」と言います。

But, again, there's more than one.

There are two flowers.

So, in that case, we use, “Those are flowers.”

ですから、その場合は "That is flowers "と使います。

“Those are flowers.”

They're far away.

遠く離れています。

“Those are flowers.”

Let's look at these.

“This is a marker.”

"This is a marker"

“These are markers.”

“That is a marker.”

So, we have to use the negative.

We use the contraction 'aren't'

which is short for 'are not'.

we say, “Those aren't flowers”.

“No, they aren't.”
