If you want to speak English really well, you need to practise your connected speech.

英語を本当に上手に話せるようになりたいなら、発音の繋がりを練習する必要があります。

A very common phrase in English is 'have to', right?

英語でよくあるのは、"have to /haf tu:/" ですね。

Have to.

"/haf tu:/ (ハフトゥ)"

But when a native speaker says this really quickly, it normally sounds like this.

ですが、英語ネイティブの人がこれを早口で言うと、普通はこんなふうに聞こえます。

'Haffda.' Haffda.

"/hafdə/ (ハフダ)"　ハフダ

With an Australian accent, we say 'haffda'.

オーストラリア英語では、"/hafdə/" と言うんです。

So like H A FF, da, D A. Haffda.

(アルファベットで書くと) "h" "a" "f" "f" "d" "a" で "Haffda"という感じ。

So for example, if somebody said to me, 'What are you doing today?', I could say, 'I haffda take this Instagram video.'

例えば、誰かに「今日は何をするの？」と言われたら、こう答えることができます。「インスタの動画を撮らなくちゃならないんだ。(= I haffda take ～.)」

I haffda take this Instagram video.

"/ʌɪ hafdə teɪk ðɪs ˈɪnstəɡram ˈvɪdɪəʊ/."

Now you try. I haffda take this Instagram video.

では、皆さんも言ってみてください。"/ʌɪ hafdə teɪk ðɪs ˈɪnstəɡram ˈvɪdɪəʊ/."

Or, maybe I would say, 'I haffda go to the park to exercise.'

または、こんなふうに言えるでしょう。「練習をしに公園に行かなくちゃならないんだ。(= I haffda ～.)」

I haffda go to the park to exercise.

"/ʌɪ hafdə ɡəʊ tuː ðə pa:k tu: ˈɛksəsʌɪz/."

Now you try. I haffda go to the park to exercise.

今度は皆さんの番。"/ʌɪ hafdə ɡəʊ tuː ðə pa:k tu: ˈɛksəsʌɪz/."

So try this with your friends who are native speakers, and they will think that you are a native speaker.
